Horrible
Horrible , they can’t evenly distribute the boost right they’re overcharging for boost controlling it micromanage the search engine engines. I think it’s a scam of the century.
Absolute waste of time
Absolute waste of time. I signed up for boost, when I signed up for booksy. I was due to have a courtesy call to introduce me to booksy but they cancelled at exactly the time of our arranged call with no consideration i had to cancel myself out of my diary to accommodate this call time. So straight off the bat that's not a great way to appreciate a new client. I signed up for boost, but due to the cancelled call i was not informed of what to do with this. The end result was that booksy took 30% off my existing customers because I wasn't properly advised on what to do when signing up to boost (your meant to import you customers numbers into the system that you already had). That to me is abit weird as I wouldn't have thought it good practice to share peoples information without their consent which might be a breach of confidentiality. (I'll look into that). I tried to reach out to customer services (several times) and was eventually told I would get a refund on the 30% taken off my exisiting customers however this was later taken back and instead told I could get money off my subscription instead (i lost out on £130 and offered £24 off two months subscription). I am trying to get my new business off the ground and this has been a joke I could do without. I am absolutely furious. The boost was not even worth it in driving new customers. Some of us behind closed doors are going though alot at the minute, trying to make ends meet. I feel so let down. Honestly BOOKSY IS AN ABSOLUTE SHAMBLES.
I cannot recommend Booksy Boost to…
I cannot recommend Booksy Boost to other salon owners based on my experience.
I used Booksy for about 1.5 years. During that entire period, I did not receive a single client that I could confidently attribute to Boost.
Only after I launched my own Google Ads campaign did new clients begin arriving. They consistently told me they found my salon on Google, not through Booksy.
However, Booksy still charged me Boost fees.
The reason is how the Boost system works. If a customer first discovers my business through Google, but then downloads the Booksy app and searches for my salon there to complete the booking, Booksy automatically classifies that customer as a Boost client.
In reality, Booksy did not generate that lead. My own Google advertising did.
When I questioned one specific charge, the situation became even more concerning.
The customer was a walk-in. She physically entered my salon from the street during heavy rain. She waited nearly an hour for her appointment. To reserve her time and prevent another online booking from taking her slot, I simply asked her to scan my own Booksy QR code and book the appointment herself while sitting inside my salon.
She was already my customer before Booksy was ever involved.
Yet this appointment was still classified as Boost.
When I tried to dispute the charge, I discovered another problem.
The appointment mysteriously disappeared from my Booksy calendar, making it impossible to submit the normal dispute process.
Support then asked me to provide "communication with the client."
This request made no sense because she was physically sitting in my salon. We spoke face to face. There were no text messages or emails to provide.
I even explained that the customer was visiting from Japan and had no reason to misrepresent how she found my salon. I also offered witnesses and detailed context.
None of that mattered.
Support repeatedly responded that Boost is "fully automated" and that nothing could be changed because of the customer's digital path.
In other words, even when the business owner can clearly explain what actually happened in real life, the automated system takes priority over the facts.
My case was then closed without resolving the issue.
I believe Booksy should make Boost attribution much more transparent.
Salon owners should clearly understand exactly when they will be charged, and customers should not unknowingly trigger Boost fees simply by opening the Booksy app after already finding the business elsewhere.
The current system creates situations where salon owners pay for customers they generated themselves.
Unfortunately, that was my experience.
Booksy is Great!
Booksy is great it allowed me to boost my clientele tremendously!
Using Booksy daily and I can't imagine living without it!
Booksy helps me daily to manage my salon - from calendar to marketing and payments. Previously I was using other platform, but I was not able to get as many new customers as on Booksy. I also like Boost very much - there's a charge for every new customer, but only for the first appointment and if the customer returns to me (and they do!) whole amounts goes directly to my pocket. Highly recommended for all the businesses in the beauty industry!
Boost charged commission on my own clients – not what it’s advertised to do
I’m writing this to warn other professionals, especially those who already have their own audience.
I used Booksy’s Boost feature, which is advertised as a marketing tool to help attract new clients through Booksy’s marketplace. The expectation is that you pay a commission when Booksy brings you a new customer.
That is not what happened.
Clients of mine went to my personal website (ChristopherFleming.com), clicked my booking button, and scheduled through Booksy. These were my followers and my traffic — not customers discovered through Booksy search or marketing.
Despite that, Booksy still charged a 30% Boost commission on those bookings.
When I disputed it, I was told that Boost is triggered based on how the booking is completed (specific link tracking), not where the client actually came from. In other words, even if you bring the client yourself, Booksy may still take a commission unless the booking follows a very specific technical path.
That is not clearly communicated when Boost is presented as a marketing and discovery tool.
To me, this feels misleading:
I brought the clients
Booksy provided no marketing or discovery
Commission was still taken
Support ultimately denied the claim and stood by their policy.
If you already have your own audience or drive your own traffic, be very careful with Boost. It may end up charging commission on your existing or first time clients that you send to your website, not just new ones Booksy actually brings in.
I’ve since turned Boost off.
I recommend that Booksy clearly disclose that Boost attribution is based on booking mechanics rather than actual client acquisition source.
I am new to booksy
I am new to booksy - i have a barbers in a small area and know majority of people. I clicked the boost button to attract more customers but anyone “new” they take 30% even through the new people are my existing customers and i’ve cut their hair for years. I explained this to booksy and they denied the claim!!! I’d shop elsewhere if you want a decent booking system as there robdogs - oh and 55 pound a month too. AVOID!!!!
They used to be all about looking after…
They used to be all about looking after small businesses helping us navigate new clients and making it easier for us to make bookings now they have moved away from this and they’re all about the profit for themselves
We have no control over what we have on our profile
Trapping us into the boost features because once everyone joins you can’t come off because you’re full right behind within the listing no more support from them no more it’s a shame because they used to be a fantastic portal for us to use
I’m starting to hate this app boost…
I’m starting to hate this app boost have been over and over for my own clients finding meh off of social media now it’s starting to turn into a robbery and I been using Booksy for over 3 yrs now and never had this problem till I started building my own client on social media and Booksy feels like they come from boost and they keep denying my claims and charging my card and I can’t even schedule to speak to a boost member bc there no spots so by time I do talk to them they gone say they can’t refund meh it’s to late don’t use Booksy find another app if u already have a good client based built the cut app probably is better
For the most part I like booksy.
For the most part I like booksy.. my.complaint is the customer service is horrible.. they dont always stand by their word and if you are not careful while using the boost feature they will charge you for clients they did not send you
Short & Sweet
Short & Sweet
Booksy Biz is a powerful, all-in-one management app for beauty and wellness professionals. It aims to save you time and money by automating your schedule, handling payments, and reducing administrative headaches.
The Bottom Line:
Booksy Biz is an excellent, feature-rich investment for established professionals or shops that struggle with no-shows and need a robust hub to manage operations. However, its premium pricing and high commission for new clients through its "Boost" program make it less suitable for new or budget-conscious solo operators.
Key Takeaways
What We Like (Pros):
* Drastically Reduces No-Shows: Mandate deposits, prepayments, and cancellation policies that make clients commit.
* Seamless 24/7 Self-Booking: Clients use a polished app to book themselves, freeing you from the phone.
* Comprehensive All-in-One Hub: Manages scheduling, staff, inventory, payments, and reporting in one place.
* Effective Native Marketing: Automated tools help you easily retain your existing clientele.
What to Consider (Cons):
* Premium Price Tag: One of the most expensive scheduling options, especially when adding multiple staff members.
* "Boost" Commission is Steep: Booksy takes a significant cut (often 30%) of the first service from new clients they find for you.
* Potentially Complex Setup: The sheer number of features can feel overwhelming at first.
Pricing & Verdict
Booksy Biz requires a monthly subscription, with costs scaling with the number of staff members.
Our Final Verdict:
If your priority is reducing administrative chaos and protecting your income from flaky clients, Booksy Biz is tough to beat. The time savings and financial security are worth the investment. However, if you are a solo provider who rarely deals with no-shows, you might be happier with a simpler, cheaper booking tool.
They will charge you in every way…
They will charge you in every way possible and hold back clients from seeing your page unless you use boost which is an extra charge. People will book and you won't get any notification. This booking app is not it. I used this app for a year and they charged me twice a month for the entire year wouldn't refund me for double paying even though they can clearly see I only use one account.
Switch to gloss & never look back
Sadly, after years of being a loyal Booksy user, I’ve had to say goodbye.
I supported this platform for years and paid thousands in fees, only to be charged for a client that was not gained through Boost, despite providing proof. Being dismissed after long-term loyalty is incredibly disappointing.
Small business owners deserve better transparency and support.
Taking money out of my account for…
Taking money out of my account for referring friends through while paying for boosts, and they are ignoring the issue which leads to £100's
Do not sue Boost services is my advice and I never will again its a scam
Booksy Boost Is A Joke!
Booksy Boost Is A Joke!
They tell you that “Boost only applies when someone books through the app for the first time, not if they use your QR code or booking link.”
That’s not true at all. People who literally walk into my shop, scan our QR code, and book while standing right there are still counted as Boost. Basically, Booksy is charging for bookings they had nothing to do with. I’ve got photos and videos to back this up.
It’s a complete scam!
Booksy ‘Boost’ Is A Scam!!
Booksy ‘Boost’ Is A Scam!!!
I was told: “Boost clients are clients who open the Booksy app and book there for the first time. If they use the QR code or direct link, the system will know that’s how they got to your profile.”
That’s completely wrong—it’s a scam. My clients who come into the shop and book through our QR code shouldn’t be counted as Boost. Booksy takes all bookings and claims they’re from Boost, which is false! I even have images and video proof.
THIS IS RIDICULOUS!
Don’t bother using the Boost feature
The app will charge you for boost even when you directly refer your customers to download the app to book your services. Absolutely useless feature booksy has on their system. I tried to claim back my money and I was denied without a reason.
This is honestly the worst appointment…
This is honestly the worst appointment app ever—just horrible. It’s slow, constantly crashes, and logs me out for no reason.
On top of that, the Boost fees are ridiculous and completely unfair. We have clients who go to our other branch, yet Booksy still counts them as Boost clients. And sure, they say you can claim it back—but I’ve submitted plenty of claims with solid evidence, and they’ve never responded.
Do us all a favour: get out of the UK and take your terrible service with you.
Booksy Boost Is a SCAM
I used to really value Booksy as a booking platform, but my experience with their Boost feature has been incredibly disappointing.
After being wrongly charged Boost commission fees, I was told the only way to dispute them was to provide direct evidence from the client confirming how they found my business. I followed their instructions exactly — obtained clear written confirmation from the client and submitted it with screenshots — yet since early April, Booksy has dragged the process out with excuse after excuse, refusing to resolve the issue.
Booksy has shown no real accountability or urgency in addressing legitimate concerns, and their support has been inconsistent and dismissive. It’s incredibly frustrating as a paying customer who has relied on this platform to run a business.
Sadly, I can no longer recommend Booksy — especially the Boost feature, which in my experience, has been misleading, untrackable, and unfairly enforced.
Sadly after 9 yrs you have let me and…
Sadly after 9 yrs you have let me and my business down and I had to say goodbye , as overnight you stopped caring but earning from other recommendations not from your boost!
You have taken over 20k from me over 9 yrs I supported you whilst we went through lockdown but you disbelieve me when I explained that the client you said was boost and I claimed saying no was recommendation ! Relax in harmony Ltd waves goodbye to you !
