Resorts do NOT make the rules for Bookvip

I take issue with Mr Colligan stating that the resorts they use set the requirements. We booked with Bookvip to book a resort in Mexico and had paid our costs and fees, and got confirmation. When the US State Department issued a Traveler Warning for this Mexican location we called and asked for a change to another location. Yes, we were told and we chose a location in another country. We received our confirmation call, gave information they asked for and was told everything was OK. I asked about an extra charge at that call, and was told I would be called back with the answer. The following day we booked our airfare. After nearly a week with no response to my question I called back. At that time I was told my wife and I were NOT eligible to use the promotion due to us being too old (68). We were also told we could not attend, could not get a refund, and if we did want to go we would have to pay a lot of extra money to do so. I spent hours talking to Bookvip agents only to be told over and over the same thing; It is the policy of the resorts we represent. I contacted the Resort Hotel directly and asked why we could not go to their resort, only to be told "We do not discriminate on age or any other things" and that we were welcome at any time. BTW, I told the resort agent this is what Bookvip stated, that the resort made the "rules". The resort agent told me it was NOT their policy. We forfeited our $900 airfare. BTW, Bookvip is part off a multi-group marketing scheme; Bookvip markets the packages, takes the money, then hands the booking off to other companies who make the phone calls (time share operations). The Time Share operation makes the policy on the package rules. The time share operation then negotiates with the resort. You are NOT dealing with the resort/hotel, but a many armed scam octopus.

Hello Don,

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry we could not accomodate you at an alternate location. All our first time visitor promotional packages are sponsored by the vacation club division of the resort. You are absolutely correct there are no requirements if you pay the regular retail rate to the hotel division. However, the reason the promotional packages are up to 80% off is because these first time visitor packages are sponsored by the hotel's vacation club division. The hotel's vacation club division subsidizies the discounted rate in exchange for meet their eligibliity requirements and attending the resort preview. The resort's vacation club division set the eligiblity requirements not BookVIP.com. You can contact me directly at James@bookvip.com

I would give no stars if possible

I would give no stars if possible. They are a bait and switch company that lies to get your money then tries to keep it without giving you anything in return!! Save yourself a huge headache and a chunck out of your bank account and stay away from BookVIP.com!!

Hello Tammie,

Thank you for your feedback. BookVIP is the leading provider of first time visitor promotional packages in the wrold. The reason the packages are up to 80% off the retail rate is because the resort's are sponsoring the first time visitor discount for meeting the resort's eligiblity requirements. The resort's set the requirements not BookVIP.com We were informed by the resort you had previously visited them on a promotional package before therefore not eligible for the promotional rate. Our supervisor has been trying to reach you to resolve the issue. You can contact me directly James@bookvip.com

I would highly recommend BookVIP

I would highly recommend BookVIP. The entire process of making my reservations through them was transparent and smooth. We really liked the resort we stayed at (Dreams Riviera Cancun) and had a great time there!

Dates not available.

Could never get dates that I wanted. Was told they needed 7 days advanced notice. I gave them at least a month and was told nothing was available until after April 1st (11/2 months later). They did finally refund me.

Hi Lori,

Thank your your email and feedback. BookVIP is the largest provider of promotional packages in the world. You orginally called us on 2/10 for check in for 2/14 - 2/19. All of the first time visitor promotional packages need at least 7 days advance booking notice as the resort needs to time to verify that each reservation meets the elgibility requirments since they are subsidzing the cost of the room which is why the rooms are 77% off the retail rate. You then called back to book in March which is is Spring Break, the busiest time of the year. For booking dates in March we recommend you book further in advance as eveything is based on availability. Unfortunately, your dates were unavailable for that resort so as you mentioned we refunded you. We have over 3,8 Million followers on Facebook and most customer video reviews in the world. We have sent over 1,00o,000 people on vacations and more actual customer testimonial reviews than any other travel web site http://bookvip.com/sitereviews. Again, we just recommend for the busiests times of the year you book far in advance to guarnatee availability which is why we offer up to 12 months advance booking. If you like to travel with us in the future, please reach out to me James@bookvip.com and Ill help personally assist you in booking and help make amends for any inconvenience.
