DO NOT BUY BORA PRODUCTS!
I’ve recently had a terrible experience with Bora and an induction hob with external extractor I bought from a local supplier. When I bought the product I was advised to buy the bora extraction ducting (as opposed to standard 150mm piping as this would void my warranty). The ducting was fitted as per the supplier even though there are no instructions, but all sealers joints and tape were used. It’s was fitted on top of subfloor below underground heating and finished floor by our builder and plumber. When the hob arrived our worktop provider opened it to measure it for cutting the worktop. He said it had CLEARLY FITTED SOMEWHERE ELSE BEFORE WE RECEIVED IT as it had scraping and rust around the galvanised edging that sits against the worktop. I immediately emailed the supplier the pictures. I heard nothing back but was very busy trying to get into the new house for Christmas. The electrician fitted the rusted hob 3 days before Christmas as there was no chance of getting another one soon and we needed hob for Christmas. About 2 weeks later a smell started coming from extractor opening in hob. It got worse and worse over the following weeks. After a lot of back and forth a bora engineer called to check the problem. He was horrified with the smell. It was like “ROTTEN OFFAL “. He said it would be fixed. Our supplier eventually got back to us and said it wasn’t a bora problem. They said something had died in the ducting. I got an electrician with camera to check the ducting which was clear apart from a grey residue in the bottom of it. When our supplier eventually came they argued for 30 minutes that there was something dead in the pipe. They also had a camera, so I asked them to show me. When they could not find anything they eventually admitted that it must be the residue. They then argued that it was not their or boras problem. They said it must be “Condensation from the house” or “it hadn’t been fitted correctly “ and other excuses. They then told me take the hob back and get a refund even though the ducting is designed for a bora system, the worktop has been cut for a bora hob and IT WILL COST TENS OF THOUSANDS to fit another system. I then contacted Bora in Germany who have since emailed me and told me to get a cleaning contractor to come and clean out the ducting at my expense AGAIN . I would imagine the residue will form again even if it is cleaned. I have had a horrible experience and hope no one has to go through the problems I am going through.

Thank you for your reply. You say you would like to help me in any way possible. I’ve already been in touch with your customer care team. They told me to get a cleaning service at my own expense and it was not Bora’s problem after that. Since my last review the ducting has leaked onto the subfloor. There’s a smell coming up from the subfloor around all the skirting boards in the kitchen. Our kitchen smells like a sewer.

We recently required a visit to resolve a technical issue with our BORA Extractor. The technician was very professional, attentive and knowledgeable and fully resolved the issue, leaving us very confident and pleased with his work.
Nice design and excellent product.
I was very exited to open the box on this product and to have it working on my brand new kitchen. Imagine my disappointment when, after the warming drawer was fitted, it didn't work. It was really hard to deal with the Bora service line (I am in the UK but they kept sending me emails in German!). Eventually after asking me for all sorts of irrelevant information (e.g was in connected to plumbing? NO! It is a warming drawer!) they passed the problem to their UK service agent. They took several weeks to make an appointment, claiming they did not have spare parts (Spare parts? It was brand new! Why not just offer me a new appliance?). After weeks and weeks the service agent came round and discovered there was a loose connection inside this brand new appliance! Of course not it works great. But what a terrible introduction to the company.
I recently installed a PURU in my new kitchen. The efficiency and speed of cooking is excellent. I love the sleek design and the interchangeable downdraft grill (although I wasn't offered a colour choice at time of purchase).
Installation was really simple and ease of use is great. I love it.
in the PURE manual is tested that a 3 yr warranty-extension can be obtained by subscribing.
In the end it turns out to be only one year extra.
Very strange and misleading indeed.
Looks absolutely beautiful and is easy to work with. I do have to get used to the noises when you start the heat,
From the Basis to the Pure, excellent!
Only to clean the it’s difficult, the filter exhaust is different and tidy then the Basic.
We are happy with the Pure.
The BORA equipment functions beyond expectations. In addition, it is a beautiful design. We are very satisfied with it.
The ventilation works surpricing fine. Very happy with the Bora.
The ventilation works so good. that is perfect. Is there room for improvement: yes 2 remarks: Switching it on: that sometimes takes time. The reaction to the touch of the switching on is slow; does not always work immediately. The other switches work well
Then the size of the area it is not really indicated and sometimes you notice one side of the pan heats (frying) better then the other one.
I recently had an error code appear on my Bora Pure which was installed roughly 29 months ago, so still within the 3 year warranty. Having logged the error with Bora direct in Germany (on a free international number) I was sent an email requesting more details such as a video of the error. A service engineer from their UK based service partner JES then called and booked me in for the same day!.. although I understand they had a cancellation that day. The engineer from JES was as professional as they come, albeit I was rather alarmed to learn that had the hob been out of warranty it would have cost me c.£500 to get repaired! Overall my estimation of Bora has increased. JES are class.
We are very satisfied of our product , the design, easy to use and the extractor is efficient
This is a really a brilliant adition to any kitchen. I already had an induction hob but wanted a larger one. I bought the Bora Pure with a new kitchen and couldn’t be happier. The extractor is brilliant in Auto mode and removes steam and food smells easily. It’s definitely the best upgrade to any kitchen.
I recently bought the S-Pure hob, and the Horizon light. Both are excellent and I can highly recommend. Although, a small cheat sheet on how to use the hob (like they have for the light) would be appreciated as not 100% intuitive to use all the hobs features immediately.....
absolutely brilliant product - hughly recommended
