£10 mysterious charge?
I didn't actually get through the checkout, so can't comment on the goods, etc. This website sells furniture covers and boxes for moving home. So I make my selection and get to the checkout. Then I notice that the total is way above what I'd spent. Turns out they'd added £10 onto the total of my goods with no detail next to it, then they added the VAT at 20%, so not only was I paying VAT on my goods, but also the mysterious £10. Very odd. Maybe it was P&P but if that was the case it should have been clearly marked. But £10 delivery charge for 3 plastic covers? Really? And anyway, you don't pay VAT on postage & packing (yet - but give it time). Couldn't find anything on the website to explain what it was, so I dumped my basket & left the site. Shame, because the sofa and mattress covers were just what I needed.
