Boyagathering Reviews

Written by the company

We work the hours the heat allows. That is not a line someone chose in a meeting. It is the actual timetable of the California Central Valley, and it is the reason this company exists. Boya Gathering LLC makes clothing in Modesto, on the flat ground between the almond and walnut orchards and the irrigation canals, for people whose working day is cut in half by the temperature. From June through September the thermometer here sits above 100°F from late morning until evening, and a July afternoon in the open is simply not workable. Nobody who can avoid it works the middle of that. So the day splits: the first shift starts around 05:40, in a light that comes in almost sideways across the rows, and the second picks up around 19:20, when the sky over the orchards goes deep violet and the ground finally gives its heat back. Between those two windows the valley shuts down. That shape — two cool ends and an unusable middle — is the shape this line is cut to, and the word Gathering in the name is that dusk hour.See more
