Brasher Womens Country Trekker Walking Boots

I bought some Womens Country Trekker Walking Boots from Brasher.co.uk for £80 reduced from £100. After 3 weeks I emailed Brasher to say that the boots were incredibly uncomfortable and were causing me a lot of pain on the ball of my foot and around the toe area. I told them that the boots felt too small but there was no information in their sizing guide to state to go up 1/2 size. Millets customer service replied to say to take them to Blacks to be inspected. They have been returned to me. There may not be a fault but DO NOT buy these boots or if you do, go up 1/2 size or a size. Incredibly uncomfortable and I am now £80 out of pocket and a pair of unusable boots.

Their website will still taking your money for some fruity reason, but can't fulfill your order

Don't bother shopping on their website.
Not sure what they're game is but if you purchase anything:
- they take the payment from your account immediately
- they will not send you a confirmation email/ proof of purchase
- your order will not show in your brasher account
So now you have no clue of your order number or any important details
- they will cancel your order a day later without notifying you by email
- luckily they will refund you the amount

I was only able to get more information because I chased up on my order a few hours after my purchase.
It's no longer Brasher that handle anything, it's Millets. I had to mention I purchased products from the Brasher website as they couldn't find my order in their system!

Their (Millets) customer service is alright, but be prepared to speak with a different CS representative each time. I found that most representatives will not read your email thread to understand your question(s) - so best to repeat yourself in every email to avoid frustration and a very long email thread. They (Millets) are very polite and prompt at responding though.

Reliable and comfortable hiking boots

I've previously found Brasher boots to be amazing! My first pair lasted for over 20 years and 5 sole replacements. Only stopped using them when I couldn't replace the sole any longer.
Since then I have owned another 3 pairs and they all are reliable and comfortable - no blisters etc.

Serious quality issues

Basher used to be a well respected brand for walking boots. However since being aquired by Berghaus have seriously gone downhill in terms of quality. I can only put this down to cost saving measuers and cutting corners in materials and production. A pair of Goretex walking shoes purchased from Sports Direct lasted only a few months before the soles completely wore down to the inner sole, the laces frayed to a mere few threads and the sides split. Which defeats the purpose of having a Goretex shoe in the first place. Doubt I will be buying any Brasher products again unless they seriously up thier game.

Time Wasters!!…

I wrongly thought Brasher were a reputable company.Twice I have ordered mens stretch walking trousers. Twice I realise I'm not getting them when a refund appears on my bank statement. No courtesy email or anything. If I go onto the website right now they are showing as available.....do yourself a favour and assume they're not. I am now back to square 1 trying to get a pair of trousers. Update your website Brasher!!

Non Selling Seller

Non Selling Seller! Ordered off the website only thing that turned up a few days later was: We're sorry to say that the following items have been cancelled as we had no stock available when we came to pick your order. <- If you go to the website they are still marked as available and you can still "order them". I don't like companies that use consumers as piggy banks! Avoid!

Brasher Countrymaster boots faulty after 6 months.s

I bought a pair of ( women's) Brasher Countrymaster boots in March this year. When I cleaned and reproofed them earlier this week ( as recommended by the vendor , Black's of Skipton) I discovered a significant hole in the lining of the upper heel area of one boot. I took them back to Black's today and was offered a full refund or replacement boots of my choice, at a discounted price. I chose another brand. I agree with other reviewers who say that the quality of Brasher boots has deteriorated since the takeover by Berghaus. My previous Brasher boots lasted 27 years .

I am very happy however with the way Black' s dealt with the matter.

Brasher boots falling apart

Bought mine about two years ago. Supposedly best I could buy. Not worn them much and sole coming off already. The boots that they replaced are in better condition and were half the price. Very disappointing. Won’t buy again.

Country walkers

Bought a pair of country walkers. I did less than 25 miles over a period of 2 weeks in them before the laces wore a large hole through the tongue on one boot. Worse boots I have ever had. Returned for Peter storm boots, half the price double the quality

Shoddy manufacturing

Shoddy manufacturing. The soles are poorly glued and came away from the boots, not what you’d expect from a pair costing nigh on £100. Infuriating, as there is still plenty of wear in the leather and sole. Customer service totally dismissive as the boots are over a year old, ie out of warranty. Certainly won’t be buying Brasher again.

Hillmaster2 Gortex boots

Bought Hillmaster2 Gortex boots. Very comfortable, very stylish but in less than a year of occasional wear the leather split across the crease above the toes, on both boots. I had cleaned and treated with conditioner regularly.
On complaining I got the runaround. Brasher is now Berghaus, Berghaus didn't sell them to you. The company you bought them from is now part of Blacks. Black's said complain to Brasher !!! I gave up and bought some from Trespass. A third of the price and already lasted two years.

No grip

I bought a pair of Brasher Vitram boots and walked to the supermarket a few times to wear them in. On stone flag pavements they are extremely slippery. I have got rid of them as falling due to rubbish footwear is too risky especially when walking a long way from any help. £25 trainers grip better than these.

Women's Country Master

I bought a pair of women's Country Master as they appeared to be rugged and would suit my purpose of mountain and hillwalking. How mistaken I was. After less than 6 months the rivets holding the laces began to break, rendering the boots utterly useless as they could not be tied. I don't pull the laces of my boots tight as I like them loose fitting, so the rivets falling apart was not through misuse. I will never buy Brasher boots again. They used to be such a good brand when they were made in the UK.

Boots not fit for purpose. Customer service appalling.

I purchased a pair of Brasher Country Walker boot which retail at £125. The sole came away from the boot after 10 months of very little wear exclusively used for walking. (No gardening etc). I sent them back to Brasher only to receive a fob off reply saying there was no fault it was "contact damage". I pointed out their argument was not factually correct & asked that they honour their guarantee by either replacing the boots or providing a refund. They did not even show me the courtesy of a reply. Avoid this brand, they do not deserve your custom.

Poor quality

I purchased a pair of Brasher walking shoes at a cost of £100. Quite expensive considering the boots I wear cost only £120. I only wanted these shoes to wear if walking to the pub at night when on camping trips. Probably about 4 weekends a year. Due to infrequent use i thought these shoes would last me a lifetime. How wrong I was. After wearing them 3 times the front of both shoes where the toes bend began to crease. Theyre made of some sort of plasticy matetial around this area. Thats fine i thought, no worries as i would expect any shoe to crrase here with walking. The creases got deeper and then on the 6th time wearing them i felt my feet were wet around the toes. Took them off to discover both the shoes were leaking where the creases were and wet through inside. The shoes were purchased 70 miles from home so when i next went to this area again i took the shoes only to find the shop had closed down. By rhis time the 12 months were up so couldnt really do any more about it. Except never purchase Brasher goods again.

AVOID THIS BRAND IF LOOKING FOR LONGEVITY IN A BOOT!

Buying a pair of walking boots wearing them occasionally, you would think you’d have many years use. Not with Brasher! After 2 + years the sole detaches and you see the mid sole has disintegrated. At which time they are out of warranty and the company (Millets) can do nothing about it. Even offered to send the boots back so their lab can investigate, but not interested. Very poor quality boots! Look good and feel good but not worth paying for 2 years use wearing occasionally. Now looking at reviews I see others experience the same fault as well as eyelet problems.

Two pairs of £100 boots, never again!!

I walk the dog daily for maybe 40 minutes average on easy going and I am around 12 stone. I ear gumboots when wet and some lightweight walking shoes most of the summer, so although 2 + years old not really had a hard life.
My first pair of Brasher boots the uppers parted company with soles after around 18 months, so I spent another £100+ on a second pair. (Thought I must have been unlucky!) 6 months in the eyelets on one boot started popping off, duly repaired by the local shop for £2 each (6 went)
Last week I thought that the heels felt a bit squishy on inspection I found that the layer between the hard sole and the uppers was disintegrating on both sides of both boots. Clearly inferior and inadequate materials.
These boots are not of merchantable quality, but out of guarantee and I cant be bothered with them. I have other brasher garments, but not anymore!!
