Only shows you what you can find for…

Only shows you what you can find for free online. Talks a lot just to get you to enrol for $27, then you have to pay for individual lessons. Waste of time, just another outfit trying to get easy money out of you.

Don't waste your money paying for something you can find online for free.

Good info, but SUPER dumbed down.

Don't get me wrong, I love this guy, and his lessons have helped me a lot (and I do truly appreciate him).. but I really hate how in every lesson, he acts like its the very first lesson and he's talking to a complete beginner.

Like he'll be teaching licks or something, and STILL explaining the pentatonic scale (when you should know it by heart by then).. and like *every single time* he mentions the scale, he HAS to play through it anyway, even though he did the same exact thing on the past 10 videos..

I find it to be PRETTY annoying, it makes the videos so much longer than they need to be. Like he could explain a concept in like 1 minute, but it turns into like a 4-7 minute video because he repeats himself so much.

I wish he would have all the lessons organized in a particular order, and tell people to follow that order, then just make each video with the assumption that people have already seen the previous videos and already have the required knowledge. And if they don't understand a concept, he could refer them back to a particular lesson/course. That way, we don't all have to slow down every single video to a 2nd grade level.

That's the only issue I have, but I do feel it strongly enough that I have to say it. If it weren't for that one thing, I'd give it 5 stars.

going from trying to learn guitar on YT to jamming in a week

I am next week 58yrs old, I was trying to learn electric guitar from YT vids for over 4 years..I took out the pentatonic fluency course and the guitar 101 course, 6 months ago from breakthough guitar, i have been jamming over any YT backing tracks in every key after 2 weeks of learning the way he teaches, I am a genuine guy, every day i am off work i just pick my guitar up and jam for hours, learned the fret board from his tuition and now trying to play from ear..those 2 courses..stopped me giving up on the guitar tbh learn his pentatonic scales fluency course in a clear format, then you will/can jam over any track in any key..within a few days
NO music theory B/S needed..i am being 100% honest with my review after months of learning how you can personally play over the fretboard ..you WILL know the fret board secrets of a guitar like i did, I am having so much fun every day after less than 2 weeks of learning from Jonathen Boyd
no B/S yet again..i am being honest with this review..I knew the minor or major root notes to Jam. within 7 days 🤘
the 2 courses i paid for cost me £14, best money i ever spent 💪
dont give up with the fret finger burn! my finger pads are now like leather and it did hurt alot at first..PLAY THROUGH IT! be a man, woman, boy or girl, the fingers dont hurt the more you practice in time..painful yes at the start, BUT it you want to learn fast..you can do it with breakthrough guitar..pick hand and fret fingers working in tandem will do it..just take your time learning, you will be jamming at your learning pace only, no rush you buy the course for life.. took me from being a noob..to jamming to friends and family, cant wait until i take my 50w positive spark amp2 outside to entertain my UK neighbours summer of 2025 💪🤘
