Been hung up on twice and was on hold for 45 mins

Missed two Council tax payments because i was out of the country for 5 months, came home and saw a red warning Letter and paid it off immediately. A couple days after i had RED WARNING letters from CDER bailiffs teling me theyre going to visit. im mindblown!
Council tax keeps increasing every year!!
-This money doesnt seem to be spent on waste mangement as bins are now collected every other week.
- London is so dirty
- There are so many potholes in the road
- I've called 999 and told them i cant breathe and they dont even deem it as an emergency
I called brent council over 10 times now to get this issue sorted and I've been on hold for 30 mins+. Today i called and the lady hung up on me mid way conversation and then i called again and as soon as i said 'hi' she hung up again. I recognise her voice and it was the same woman

Are you surprised that it was in BBC news that a child missed out taking there GCSE well it wasn’t only one child the local authorities did this too it was another child now his 18 years the mother made a complaint for a payout of £600 took it and because she had limited understanding due to language barrier the seriousness she did not understand as it should of been escalated to Obossman the boy is currently 18 years old with no GCSE no resources he has to retake and go to college this is also a child with SEN!! Brent has the worst SEN department for children with additional needs .. they hide they delay it’s all a tactic and they don’t follow the law they after failing to meet children needs !!

I was wondering why am I constantly…

I was wondering how Brent Council is helping people in worst of worst. No helping at all, just pulling me down and stressing me to the core. This is unhealthy. Housing matter related me was discount and cheapining my living and no one wanted to help me. However hostility and stealing my credit was overlooked. Letting gradious people live and other suffer. No wonder I feel constantly unsafe and attacked and I encountered how Brent Coucil is allowing ignorance, violence and disparities.

Due many people, I was firstly terrorized and since time I enter UK, I did not enjoy housing.

Since past and mostly January 2025, I wrote multiple emails, follows up and in June 2025 my requests were more than enough related housing.

Hostile, toxicly grandious landlords is not way and ignoring me is not way either.

Can you explain me why way a hostile, slum, rouge landlords can easily take what is not theirs ?

Can you explain me , why you do not respond, when my connections are trying to follows up a same way as me ?

Can you explain me, while being outdated for na injustice, how is appealing to you a fact , that you present , that I can not have money or safety? How possible UK is always cult of others uneducated grandiosity and narcisstical dominance ruining me worst than under supreme leadership ?

Can you explain me , where is my privacy and autonomy ?

I feel horrific for experiences with Brent Council.
Horrific to write reviews like openly and reading and listening to selective injustice.

Businesses who you have connection doesn´t need to take my money, my living. All my money all always been used for wrong people. I unfortunately must give this -5 starts review and also I do not enjoyed all this ostracism.

Bulky items removal

To anyone considering using the bulky items removal service with Brent Council, I would strongly advise against it.

The collection is carried out by AnyJunk, and in my experience they were difficult to deal with and did not collect all of the items as expected. This resulted in unnecessary inconvenience and frustration.

Based on this experience, I would recommend looking into independent removal services instead.

Council tax bill 2026

“This is nothing more than a legally operating money-grabbing gang! £2235 a year for what exactly? Absolutely nothing! Parks are dirty, the grass is rarely cut properly – just look at Monks Park. Rubbish and mess everywhere.
And what do we actually get for this money? Basically just rubbish collection. But even that isn’t fully done by them, because residents are required to separate and sort the waste for selective collection. In other words, we do part of the work so it costs them less.I understand that staff need to be paid, but charging this much money for such poor service is simply not normal and completely unacceptable!”

Potholes????????

Broken roads, potholes that have been neglected for far too long. No consideration for residents who drive their cars on these roads and having a high risk of accidents and punctured tyres.

Too slow to deal with this. If the road is unworthy then you shoukd communicate better to your residents and address this ASAP.

Unprofessional, below par standards organisation.

Just on the phone to Brent Council

Just on the phone to Brent Council, regarding my council tax bill. Been waiting on the phone for the last 1 hour and 10 mins and still waiting to talk to an idiot. When i rang i was no.46 in line. Lol and i'm still bloody waiting. And they keep putting the council tax bill up. Train a monkey and it'll probably do a better job.

I will get my people to break down the door.

Since July 2025, I been asking the council to open the electricity meter door, so that I can top up my voucher. And of course we're now in 2026, and their still haven't opened it. My supplies can see how much credit, is on my smart meter. Sitting in a freezing cold flat, is unexceptionable.

not only have i lived in brent all my…

not only have i lived in brent all my life, but i am so sad to live in brent all my life .
it all started when i clocked there is a court on every corner
what a thing to see growing up
not realising they have set us up for failure
schools making you feel like you will amount to nothing,
no value for money, every corner lined with a tesco or sainsburys express, the parks all the trees cut down so they keep tabs on you,its depressing
you see people in west east and south acheiving things in life, but we are here trapped because brent isnt for the people they have been against us from the jump
all you want is money ,soon as my mother died sh wasnt in her grave before a letter to start paying anything my mother owed, then they tripled my tax .
they bully you with bailiff enforcement,im here just trying to gt my life together and they dream up a bill that is so unreallistic, all my bills are high as everybodys but to have tax as high as rent, there is something seriously wrong going on here.
its designed to scare you and live at the mercy of these people, council is not what i would call you.
the question is when is someone going to sort them out,
they want you to fear them
they want your money and valubles
they want you to kill yourself ,its one less person they have to talk to
but i bet they will find a way to gt your money then
its more than disgusting
you are playing with peoples lives
they keep getting away with it,it was no surprise we are the worst borough,if your main focus is cash and not the residents then you are a part of the problem
being on hold to sort things out for 1hour and 20 minutes is unacceptable, and yes when you pick up,u either put the phone down or say its not your department, unless there is 2 people working you guys need to resign and start again because the level of vile service ive experienced is not right .we want a life and be able to do things justy like the other boroughs but this 1984 thing you have i can see isnt going to change until someone fights these bullies and do something good for a change,is my life just to pay bills to you anytime you dream up a number
you cant even vent properly on these sites anymore because these big companys hate the truth.i hate you brent from the bottom of my heart,i wish you the wrst xmas like the rest of ussuffering, bullies, nasty bullies who are not worth a d amn

Great telephone skills

I just want to give recognition to the great customer service I received from Laila & Amina (I hope I’m spelling it right) during OOH on 22.11.25. They were quick to resolve my query, ensured it was escalated to the right team and had wonderful telephone skills. Absolutely amazing & helpful. We need more admin staff like them.

The worst council I have ever had to…

The worst council I have ever had to deal with. It would appear that the Council leaders care very little for the environment or the residents.
Litter everywhere no regard for keeping the area clean. Despite putting out posters regarding the dumping of rubbish it is not acted on.
The centre of Wembley is a disgrace people spitting red liquid dirty disgusting pavements, filthy shop fronts. A disgrace for a borough with the national stadium not to mention major events arena. I would be interested to know what the council does with the revenues collected from all these events. The residents are time and time again inconvenienced by these events without any redress and yet there is no evidence of where the money goes.
The districts are filthy the roads in poor conditions. Previous public buildings are sold to people or developers unknown without any previous sale signs.
The gangster approach to leaving reviews on Brent website is a deterrent in itself the threat is that one’s contact details will be fully published.
I am not surprised Brent is bottom of the press league table of desirable Boroughs to live in.
I have lived here for almost 30 years and have seen the constant decline in the Borough.
I am so very disappointed with Brent councillors.

Official - Brent is the Worst Borough in London!

Councillor Mohammed Butt,

Let’s not pretend anymore. Brent didn’t just “slip” in a ranking — under your leadership it has fallen, rotted and sunk to the absolute bottom, now officially named the worst borough in London, confirmed by the Telegraph and amplified by Time Out for all to see.

32 out of 32. Last. The worst place to live in the capital.
That’s your legacy.

Once upon a time, Brent had community pride. It had character, dignity, and hope. Now? It’s dirty, neglected, crime-ridden, chaotic and visibly decaying. It is filthy. Rubbish-strewn streets, illegal dumping unaddressed, overdevelopment with zero infrastructure support, rising crime, collapsing public trust — you’ve presided over it all while acting as though residents should be grateful for the slow-motion destruction of their home.

Let’s be crystal clear:

✅ Brent is visibly filthy.
✅ Public areas are a disgrace.
✅ Green spaces feel neglected or unsafe.
✅ Hospitality is ranked near rock bottom (14 points!).
✅ Culture has withered.
✅ Infrastructure is crumbling under mismanagement.
✅ Residents feel ignored, unheard, and abandoned.

This did not “just happen”. It happened on your watch, while you and your circle clung to power with performative “engagement” and empty PR lines about “community investment” that nobody sees and nobody believes.

You had years to turn things around. Instead, Brent has hit national headlines for being the worst of the worst. Do you understand what it means to residents to open their phones and see their borough held up as a punchline?

If this were a private company, the CEO would be gone by morning.
If this were a football club, the manager would be booed out of the stadium.
If this were any position based on merit, you’d be finished already.

Instead, Brent is stuck with a leadership more focused on political positioning than on actually cleaning the streets or making residents feel safe and proud again.

So here it is, bluntly and unapologetically:

👉 Your position is untenable.
👉 The borough is failing under your leadership.
👉 You should resign immediately and allow someone competent, serious and accountable to take control before further damage is done.

Unless you can produce immediate, measurable actions backed by transparent funding and real timelines — not the usual vague promises and slogans — then the only honourable move left is resignation.

But let’s be honest: honour has been notably absent from Brent’s leadership for quite some time.

Step aside. Brent deserves better than this.

I've spent months trying to resolve…

I've spent months trying to resolve multiple issues around council tax. Somehow, this week, this time I spoke to an incredibly polite and helpful woman who went through my issues one by one and resolved them.

It was late on Thu 23rd, but she took her time. I should have asked her name to thank her specifically, but thank you for sorting everything out.

Parking Charge

Parking Charge - Picked up a PCN for parking.
The PayByPhone App was no longer being used despite being displayed to use.
There was no signage directing to use the RingGo app instead, and it was too late when I realised.

Wasted time tying to use the PayByPhone app and subsequently picked up a PCN trying to find out the correct payment methods.

Appealed against the PCN.
The response did not acknowledge the lack of signage for RingGo or anything really except spout the usual robotic BS to hide behind.

Your own evidence when issuing the PCN shows the lack of correct signage.

Took three months to respond to my original appeal, advised 14 days to pay from date of issue, but the letter took ten days in the post.

Really poor response. Lazy. Embarrassing.

Brent Council’s website is extremely frustrating – it constantly asks to link my account, even for simple queries. Customer service is just as bad: calls take forever to connect, and when someone finally answers, they either say it’s not their department or just disconnect. Very poor service for such basic needs.
