Stayed in Phoenix VII

Stayed in Phoenix VII, unit 7 71001 on June 3 - June 7, 2021. There were 4 adults, 3 children (12yr, 13 yr & 14 yr). My main concern in writing this is the condition of the condo we rented. While it was adequate sleeping the required number of people in our party & the beds (2 kings & 2 queens, pull out couch) were comfortable. Maintenance issues include:
Master shower- mold above the shower head
Patio- furniture needs replacement; rusted legs on chairs & table. (Grandson cut his foot on one of the rusted chair legs)
Inside furniture in dire need of replacing.
Appliances were adequate, we didn’t cook inside.
Condo interior needs updating & some remodeling & refurbishing. Bathrooms are very, very small. 2 bathroom are really enough with 2 ½ teenagers, 2 women adults & 2 men, especially when you can not fit more than one at a time in a bathroom. Master bed faces parking lot. None of the bedrooms face the beach.
All in all, I think we will look for another unit on the next get away.

Most horrible places to stay in Gulf Shores.

Came to stay for a weekend and to propose to my woman which was the only good part about our stay. The staffing is like a bunch of poorly trained rental cops that don't even know their own rules. It say's once you arrive you will receive a parking pass 1 for a 8 sleeper and 2 for 11 sleeper. When you get there you do not receive one nor do you even know where the office is located. Which is located on the back side of the islands wind east building. Before knowing this the rental cop wrote a ticket for not having the parking pass. Went to get it and they made us pay 30$ for the initial pass that was supposed to be free. The ticket will not be paid. Then the second day there I'm out on the balcony with the door closed and get threatened a fine if I smoke. I then had a overlook of the rules and guidelines of the paper on the fridge. It clearly say's no smoking allowed inside of the properties, "if smoking make sure to close the balcony door" so that no signs of smoke are inside the premises. The last day we checked out and went shopping for souvenirs. Only a hour had passed and my fiance realized she had left her makeup box underneath the bathroom sink. Easily over 200$ worth value, so we went straight to the office and talked with the rudest staff. Mrs. Piggy tells us that we could either wait until 5-6p.m for it to be put in the lost and found, or we could pay to have it shipped home which is a 4 and a half hour drive. She refused to get some much needed exercise by walking us back to the room, to be the generous/right thing to do and retrieve our belongings for us. Instead I had to go back and go inside myself to get our own belongings back. Pretty sure Mrs.Piggy had intentions on getting free makeup. This will be a place checked off on for never staying again.

BR dropped the ball this time

First of all we have rented from BR for almost 13yrs. We have always been offered promo codes or coupons. Well not this time. They charged everybody 100% rental, and booked the whole building at 100% capacity. Phoenix West is entirely too big of a building to only have 4 elevators. To make things worse, only 3 are working and made wait times for elevators up to 30 min. This is a joke. Hot tubs were repeatedly shut down for “maintenance”. As soon as we arrived we had to call for a cleaning crew to come back and clean up food from the tables and mop floors from the mess that was left from previous visitors. There isn’t enough chairs at the pool for 100% occupants. Overall this trip has been more of an inconvenience than a vacation. We won’t be back here and most likely won’t rent from BR again. $5500+ for a weeks stay doesn’t set well with me right now when obviously BR wasn’t prepared for the number of people here. This is June. Not January. They should’ve been prepared to accommodate the crowd that they knew was coming. Should’ve offered something for the inconveniences that we had to face.

Not a happy visit!

My husband and I celebrated our 29th anniversary earlier this month, and were thrilled to be able to return to Orange Beach! We missed it so much last year!
We stayed at the Phoenix VI, and I’m sorry to say that the condo left much to be desired! The location was great, views from the condo were beautiful, it was peaceful, and the parking was very handy. With that being said, the negatives far out-weighed the positives! The condo was simply dirty! The floors were filthy, cabinets and drawers in the kitchen had food crumbs and pieces left over from previous guests, apparently more than a few visits! We put silverware, coffee cups, etc into the dishwasher to clean them, and did not put them back in the drawers & cabinets, because I didn’t want to clean those on our vacation! We bought plastic cups and paper plates to use instead of using those in the condo. The coffee maker and toaster had residue & crumbs from previous uses.
There were extra blankets on the closet shelves, but when we got them out to use, there was an odor and it appeared they had not been washed after the last visitors used them. I wore white footies to keep from walking barefoot on the floors, and after just an hour of walking around in the condo, the bottoms were filthy - I have a picture of those! The next day I bought a pair of flip-flops to wear in the condo only (nowhere else) and before I could put them in my closet at home, I had to scrape the bottoms and then scrub them. Have pictures of the crap that came off of the bottoms!
We are long-time customers of Brett Robinson, having preferred to stay in the Phoenix condos through the years. The last time we stayed in a Phoenix condo, which was in 2019, the cleanliness of the unit left a little to be desired, but we really thought it was a fluke occurrence. However, based upon our experience this time, we will most likely choose someplace else! Very disappointed!!

Phoenix West unit 2009👎

We had a group of 8 adults staying in Phoenix West, room 2009, for 4 nights - May 15-19. The complex is very nice, the staff friendly & efficient. However, the unit itself was not up to the usual Brett Robinson standards. It had a large decorative clock sitting on the floor, the glass on the dining table was dirty & crumbs lodged in edges, coffee pot leaked, rubber mat under dishwasher not attached & always
Slipped out. The main concern was the mattress in the 3rd & 4th bedrooms (the ones nearest the kitchen). The room my husband & I slept(nearest the kitchen) was absolutely like a water bed- slightest movement & the whole mattress moved, VERY uncomfortable
And apparently past its replacement date.
Over all, the condo was not inviting and decorating needs to be updated. We were disappointed. Considering the amount we paid for 4 nights, we expected a little more.
BTW, we rented this unit several years ago and nothing had been changed or updated.
Will not rent 2009 again.

1st and last time I'll rent from them

1st and last time I'll rent from them, I have always rented from private condo owners and they take pride in their rentals but this is awful, sand on all the furniture its not clean, the couch is so warn its pilling and I cant stand to sit on it, one of the plastic chairs on the balcony broke with me sitting in it they are dry rotted it tore off half my toe nail and twisted my knee im a 59 year old woman I didn't need that especially on my 1st day of vacation. I'm just glad we are only staying 5 nights here I've learned my lesson we come twice a year every year and this is the only time I've been disappointed and its also the only time I've rented from a property manager. I gave it 2 stars because of the location.....Id also like to add that since I wrote this review I decided to take pictures when I pulled out the kitchen table to take pictures of those chairs there was a diaper and an aldis bag in one of the chairs, I thought things were suppose to be deep cleaned this condo wasn't even surface cleaned

Phoenix 5 CONSTANT drilling overhead. DEAFENING. Renters should be warned in advance. Also, no plan in place for tornado weather. Were here during hail storm and no info in condo on safety procedure

The worst place ever

This is our 2nd time in Orange beach and 1st with Brett/Robinson. We stayed at building V, unit 1005. OMG!!! Took 1 star off for the receptionist, thin girl, black hair, she is not even friendly, hateful is the right word for her behavior and attitude when I checked in, waited for another hour to check in-1 star off for the worst property I have ever rented, the indoor pool was so dirty that my teenage girl came up immediately after she jumped in, her word "disgusting". Don't rent the unit 1005, furniture is beyond repaired, we cannot sit without making constant adjustment because of the bottom keep sliding off base. Kitchen is dirty, coffee maker needed to fix so we can use, electrical outlets loosen off and dangerous to use, outdoor chairs...how can you sit on those chair? The owner, this place represent you! Have a little pride on yourself and spend a little man, Can't believe we paid for this...Never again I rent another unit at Brett/Robinson, do you need HOA for these condos' owners to keep their places clean?

Worst rental in 31 years with Brett Robinson!

This is our 31st year renting with Brett Robinson and is, without a doubt, the worst year ever! We rent the month of January every year. This year, we are in Phoenix VII. Three (3) out of the four (4) weeks this month have been destroyed by condo renovations; specifically, old tile removal. The construction going on today, will not allow us to talk to each other, standing 4ft apart, without screaming. We all have bad headaches by the end of the day. We chose to come this year rather than cancel due to Covid. We're extremely sorry that we did. We understand that the owners must be allowed do their construction, however, they could be mandated to do it in the quiet, low activity, month of April.

Displeased and disgusted

I have stayed in their condos twice and was not pleased at all, the condos were filthy, the staff was rude even overheard them downing and harassing other employees which were new hires. Id rather vacation in a card board box than stay in another phoenix/brett robinson property.

Well, Spring Break was a bust so it was nice to be able to get in for Fall Break. Our family is growing so we initially rented a ground-floor unit but hurricane Sally took care of that one for us.
It was nice to find out that 6501 was available. This was our fourth time renting this unit and everything was just fine. Great overall experience.

Phoenix West 1106

Very disappointed with unit. Stayed at Phoenix Orange Beach in June it was great. The refrigerator ice maker did not work called front desk when we arrived no one ever came to see about the problem. The kitchen had very few pots. Had to go down and ask for a pot to cook supper. The living room furniture was very old and uncomfortable. We had to bring in chairs from the balcony to sit on. For the price we paid we expected more. Have been renting from Brett Robinson for years first time disappointed.

Fabulous five

We have vacationed in gulf shores for many years. We stayed the past 2 years in the Phoenix gulf shores. The first year was fabulous and and everything was great in 702. In August of 2020, we stayed in room 302. We were the last to get checked in. We waited until 5 families checked in due to the fact that our condo was still getting cleaned. When we finally got checked in we were met by the cleaning inspector cleaning “thrown birthday cake from our tv”. We continues to get settled and went into two of the 3 bathrooms, only to find stool under the rims of the toilet. Obviously not cleaned. I proceeded to go to the front desk only to find that they were gone for the day. Luckily we found the security guard to call for assistance. About 2 hours later a young man came to the room to clean the toilets. Thinking we could settle in, my husband with his white Sox’s sat down on the couch, only for my son to ask him” dad your Sox’s are filthy”. I then took the mop and mopped the entire condo twice, including the bathrooms. What a vacation. I did go to the front desk the next day and was told that someone would contact us. I have written Brett Robinson right after we got home and I am still waiting for a response. When you spend this amount of money you would expect perfection or at least someone to contact you.

Not my favorite

We have been coming to Orange Beach for the past 7 years. This is the first Phoenix we have stayed at. The keyless entry, kitchen and view were nice.
Light switches controlled outlets, would have been nice if they were labeled.
The screw that was holding the metal decor hanging over the head of the bed was coming out of the wall. No anchor.
The wall in the bathroom had something splashed on it( dirty).
The balcony’s were on top of each other, you could see everyone.
Couch was stained and uncomfortable.
Washer and dryer were faxing the hot water heater which made it tricky to do laundry. The bi-fold door would hit the main door.
Vanity top was small, had old tooth brush holder and soap dish on the side wall in the way for you to put your items there(contacts, hair dryer, etc) Need to take them off.
Batteries in tv remote said they were low every time we used it. Didn’t have a guide on remote or channels. That would have been nice.
Could here the neighbors beside and over us. Also, a dog two doors down barking everyone their own would leave.

Phoenix IV- 4092

We stayed at the Phoenix IV. We were unaware that this specific condo did not have a check-in desk & that we needed to stop at the Phoenix III ahead of arrival, but it only took one call to BR with a little wait time to get the correct building to check in. The update done on the condo was very nice and a great relaxing atmosphere. Our ice maker never made ice while we were there. A previous couple had mentioned this same problem in our condo’s stay book. We eventually just purchased the ice downstairs, no biggie. Not much bedding on bed, but we found extra thin throw blanket in closet that we used. The tub drained poorly, but also not a huge issue for us. We were really disappointed that the beach chairs and umbrellas were not available on this trip, as we have always rented these when we have stayed at the Phoenix on previous trips. We ended up purchasing chairs and an umbrella. One of the main lobby doors had been damaged and was hanging on its brackets, which created an intense and constant howling sound for the entire last day, as if we were listening to hurricane winds. We loved the lay out lounge on our balcony. Otherwise, a gorgeous view in perfect weather at one of our favorite places on earth.

Costly and underwhelming

We were evacuated a few days early but the time we spent at Phoenix V 706 definitely had a few issues.

Upon booking, we were told there was an assigned space in the garage and upon arrival the garage was under construction so parking was an issue at times. Check in was pretty straight forward and getting to the room was simple enough. There was no satellite service for tv the first day, only an explanation of hoping to have it fixed soon (which was the next day). Make sure you get the wifi password from the front desk before heading upstairs.

In the room, the kitchen is great and well stocked minus the ice maker. The lever sticks and you must continually turn the ice maker back on. The guest room was fine and the condo was quiet. The quilt in the guest bedroom closet was unfolded and wadded up in a black trash bag so we had no idea if it was clean or not. The living room was fine and the master bed is quite firm but slept ok. However, along the edge of the bed frame is packed with dust and a few goldfish crackers. The sheets were gritty feeling from sand, but not to the point where they felt dirty..just unnerving. The small fan in the master is broken. Master shower had some mildew that we cleaned up and both showers hold water instantly while you're in there.

Floor was mostly clean but walking near the balcony door would leave your feet black. There were a couple of pieces of tape along the balcony wall that said "wet" which I assume was from the hurricane and there was a bit of a musty smell near the wall but not bad. The balcony lock from the living room broke on day 2 and a promise to have it fixed on day 2 turned into a repeat request and being told they weren't going to send anyone to look at it because they didn't have the part to fix it.

The splash pad had hurricane damage which is understandable, but the pools are great and the beach and view is phenomenal, I just won't be in a rush to try the Phoenix V again.

Labor Day week vacation …

We always stay in a Brett-Robinson managed property because they are reputable and easy to work with. We stayed at the Phoenix West unit 1006. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed and it had plenty of seating in the living area. We love the PW mostly for the lazy river! The staff here are very friendly and helpful and the premises are immaculate. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Our first time to stay in Phoenix VII

Our first time to stay in Phoenix VII. The room was totally outdated. There were water stains on the ceiling. The appliances in the kitchen were extremely old. The dishwasher sounded like it was about to take flight when it was turned on. The view was wonderful and the pool was great. The rest of our family always stays at this resort. Their room was wonderful. Maybe the 3 bedroom ones get more attention. I will definitely be more careful looking at pics next time before booking.

This was our second time to stay in…

This was our second time to stay in Driftwood Towers 5E in a four year period. This condo can surely use some updating and a thorough cleaning. But the worst were the beds! They were so hard and uncomfortable. It would have been better to sleep on the sand. Honestly, it took a few days after I returned home for my back and hips to quit aching. Other than the beds, our trip was enjoyable.
