Really sorry to see Castlewood restaurant close.
I have been visiting this Brewers Fayre for many years during school holidays with my grandchildren where we enjoyed a fabulous breakfast at a very reasonable cost.
It is the end of an era for us.

Brewersfaye at waterfront walsall is sadly closing to the public, September 7th 2026,only open for guests of Premier inn, breakfast & evening meal, why not to the public is disappointing to say the least, I feel more sorry for staff losing their jobs, Mike & others are great staff & how whitbread have treated all staff across all Brewersfaye & beefeater , shocking & not caring about regular customers , hopefully if not brought out, they eventually open it up to public again&hire staff they let go, so from me thank you staff you have kept that place going & will miss you x

Our first time using this place. Well the bar staff were lovely, we were served with a smile, and politeness. We took our drinks outside while we decided what to eat and then went in to order.
Greeted by an older member of staff who told us we were rather late (before 730) and almost threw our menu at us, informing us that we’d better hurry and make our minds up as the kitchen closed soon, and that the menu was as limited due to a problem. We were taken to our table and told ‘you can sit here the table no is(??) she then dashed off moaning about latecomers holding her up. While waiting for my food I could hear cussing coming from the kitchen.
To be honest I was tired after a long journey and had I not been I wouldn’t have bothered to order and gone elsewhere. My partner had the tikka pizza (don’t bother it’s gross) I had the lasagna which was better. Serving staff who also worked behind the bar again were lovely. But the woman who seated as needs retraining on customer service

Service was slow and bitty,food came out in dribs and drabs ,a table of 3.Alergies were advised and was given an file which on inspection contained dishes on the menu,after choosing and checking ingredients used,was told they didn't have fish and chips,disbelief,beyond words.!! I found food dry and tasteless, very dissapointed,staff weren't bad when u saw them .Sorry won't be coming back,was told eating out is now expensive ,and not an enjoyable experience .

Treated like an inconvenience after years as regulars.

We’ve had breakfast here as a family 3–4 times a month for a long time.

We arrived at 8:15am to a near-empty restaurant and waited at the door to be seated.

The staff member who greeted us seemed reluctant to let us in at all, then turned to the manager and asked, in front of us, “are we still doing this?” — meaning walk-ins. The manager looked directly at my wife and me and replied: “Yes, unfortunately.”

Said to our faces. In an empty restaurant. To loyal, paying customers.

We left immediately and won’t be returning. If walk-ins are a burden, say so on the door — don’t humiliate the people who’ve supported your business for years.

What has happened to this chain? By chance, and out pure happenstance, my husband and I have stumbled into two brewers fayre pubs this month. The inn on the quay at goodrington and lockyers quay Plymouth.
I cannot say much more other than what a shambles! Friendly staff, massively understaffed. Decor very worn, outdoor seating needs setting fire to! Will go out of business soon I’m sure. Cheap drinks is a plus. It Wetherspoons are better. Come on guys, must do better!

Server was nice but long wait for food. Can only assume gammon steak came from Timpsons and chips were the very unremarkable thin frozen type. Fried eggs were nice though. Sorry for staff losing their jobs but can see why they're closing.

Went there yesterday at 5p.m. When we arrived, was told you have to book. Haven't you seen the note on the door. We have never booked here before. We are not psychic and this was a waste of our time. They should just close.

A follow up on my atrocious visit 2 years ago

Its hardly a surprise to see Brewers Fayre going out of business and closing all pubs / restaurants
They are an embarrassment to the hospitality trade and good riddance to them, the industry is better off without them
Terrible staff, worse management and clearly greedy and clueless owners

4 times out of 5 we have reserved a table hoping for a carvey at the orbital in cannock amd the carvery has completely run out before 5pm! How poor at quantity ordering do you have to be to consistently get this so wrong? There were slots available all day, so I know it wasn't too busy. They dont bother with a courtesy call to let you know its run out. Shambolic

At premier inn east, Inverness. Excellent staff, from front of house to bar. Friendly and efficient. And a very good mixed grill too.

Service was terrible. The food was running 40 minutes late although not many people in the restaurant. There ware 3 people behind the till chatting took one of them 5 minutes to decide to serve us . Desserts took another 40 minutes,they forgot . What a place .

Food is shocking, pitza base not cooked properly but the top was overdone. Burgers looked like they were cooked days ago and re heated. Burgers buns tasted like hand sanitizer . Ordered barbecue Sauce with a meal didn’t receive it. Chips were all scabby.

Place was dirty staff stood about taking waited 3 quarters of a hour for dessert had to s ask 3 times for them never go again

We were staying In a premierInn and that was the nearest thing to us just a couple of steps away from us when we got in we were excited because we had it before and it was quite good for the money. I went with my sister snd she had the garlic bread for the starter and it was hard and stale. When the food came we both got sausage and mash and the
Sausage were strange and very soft like it hadn’t been cooked enough. Then the mash tasted like it has been cooked in meat and was very meaty. Then finally my sister got the brownie the ice cream was good but my sister said the brownie tasted like chocolate cake wich is not how a brownie should taste. And they where hovering while we where still eating there and it wasn’t just us there . Not a good experience don’t recommend it .

Booked 12.45 table on the 3rd July for the 7th.
Arrived at 12.30 after walking an hour in this heat.
Was told restaurent is closed until 5pm. No explanation, no inform knowing my no. And email.
Pathetic ... receptionist did not know why
Closed or did not understand ' can i speak to the manager'.
The sooner this company is closed the better.

Went to Brewers Fayre this evening. Refillable drinks tasted like water and staff response was not my fault nothing we can do. My wife said the steak was the worst she has ever had.
No wonder its closing down!

I didn’t have half the menu place was filthy overall disgusting 

Oh dear Brewers Fayre, you need to sort your staff and pretty quick.
I had the very unfortunate experience of eating at your premises at Goodrington sands near Paignton, called 'inn at the quay'.
Firstly we had to find a clean table, that wasn't covered in sauce, gravy, drink etc. To order some food we then had to go looking for menu's first if all. When we ordered the food we then had to go searching for cutlery and serviettes. Then the food arrived, delivered by a member of staff who's uniform was dirtier than the pre mentioned tables. I had the gammon, which was not cooked in the middle, so it went back. It was given back to me a few mins later, guess what ? Still undercooked, I then tried the chips, cold, peas, cold. Food went back, came back exactly the same again. So demanded a refund. Not good, however, while waiting for the food to arrive, a member of staff did come and clean a couple of tables, or to a fashion. Basically he had a cloth that was absolutely disgusting and filthy dirty, he slopped dirty water out from a clear container ( hence we could see how dirty the water was ) onto the tables and left them soaking wet, with water dripping all over the floor. What was even better, was the fact that one of the tables had empty drinks glasses on, of which he moved them to clean the table, and then put them back on the table he'd just cleaned. ABSOLUTELY PRICELESS. Again his uniform was disgusting, is this the new requirement for uniforms?
We left, and although we are here for a few days, we will not be returning to possibly the dirtiest place to eat that I've ever been in. You should be thoroughly ashamed to let your premises get to such a bad state.

Absolutely terrible manager today 28th June.
The staff who served us were great but one lady who I was later told when asked was the manager was swearing at all her staff. She was using very vulgar language on the restaurant floor. She told one staff member to f!?k off you useless piece of sh!t.
I was horrified. She absolutely had been smoking cannabis the smell on her clothes was effecting myself and the table next to us. We were all discussing it when she had her tantrum and ran out of the restaurant doors banging things.
Not sure where else to report such awful behaviour really. But it was shocking the poor young lad she was screaming at looked mortified.
