They referred me to their 'SUICIDE PREVENTION PROGRAM'. The 1st clinician prescribed me a medication that said a side effect can be that a suicidal person will become more suicidal. It's like a person going to a weight loss clinic and being prescribed medications that can make them gain weight. The 2nd Dr.informed me through a message that she does not fill out any form of documents none whatsoever & does not prescribe control substances. I explained that disability & Medicare may ask for releases/information from time to time to see that I'm still eligible. She did not budge. I complain to Administration who said there are doctors who don't do it. Why wouldn't a "care provider", provide documentation when asked from a workplace, hospital, government agency, or etc.? I have NEVER been told that before by any psychiatrist or mental healthcare clinic, etc.
The 3rd clinician, I messaged to my family history of mental illness, as well as why I refused the medication.
Her first words upon meeting were "now let's get into what happened with the last doctor". Then proceeded to berate & chastise me for refusing the medication with the label that says you can become suicidal. She said to take the medication or go seek therapy because there was nothing she could do for me, using a dismissive hand gesture. I described my most recent suicide attempt, when & how it happened, and who found me. I told about the feelings of disappointment, anger & fear when it did not work.
Not even 10 MINUTES LATER, this lady asked me "have you ever tried to commit suicide, if so when was the last time & how did you do it?" I couldn't believe it!! Then came right behind that to ask did I have a family history of mental illness. The FIRST thing she did when meeting me was chastise me due to my message saying why I refused to take the medicine, but that EXACT SAME MESSAGE had my family history in it. I even gave specifics on what they were diagnosed with.
Usually, the 1st session is 1-2 hours long because they need to get information, previous diagnosis, medications, as well as medical history. The session was 30 min. She ended the meeting without a resolution &
didn't even say goodbye before ending the video session. Administration told me to file a grievance on the app.
I told them to cancel my membership.
All of this in the SUICIDE PREVENTION PROGRAM they referred me to.
No one should be forced to take medication that make them feel uncomfortable, nor treated badly for being afraid to take it; nor should they be dismissed for asking for alternatives.
She told me that all antipsychotics had the black box with the suicidal label on them. I found out that this is not true. Some antipsychotics can decrease the effects of being suicidal. There are also other classes of medications that doesn't have that box. They just didn't care to look.
I love my therapist!
I love my therapist!! The site is easy to navigate and communication runs smoothly!!
Absolutely worst
Absolutely worst. Paid up front and scheduled appointments. App kept crashing, couldn't join call. So 30 min before I call in and they send me a link. I sit in their room for 30 min with nothing. I call and ask, they said I was a no show. Act like it's my fault, and try to reschedule for a different day. Then the agent wants to keep repeating questions that doesn't pertain to anything, a damn script. And when i finally had enough and asked for a refund, she said ok and hung up on me. Yes I was frustrated, I scheduled this appointment for a reason and being dismissed after all my due diligence is disheartening. Noone really wants to help.
Easy medication management.
Really easy to get the medication I need to live my life normally.

Thank You Brightside
There are few therapists and psychiatrists in my area, and I probably wouldn’t have pursued getting help if Brightside hadn’t made it so simple and easy. They worked with my insurance as well. It has been about a month and a half, I have received support through medication prescribed by a wonderful psychiatrist. She has been so supportive and listens to all my questions and provides sound guidance. I recently began talking with a therapist on Brightside as well, and she has also been supportive and compassionate. I look forward to learning skills to overcome my anxiety and depression. The app has been easy to navigate and I like the appointment and message reminders. I have one issue with messages in the app: a box pops over the message screen(telling you who to contact in emergency?) and it makes it difficult to read and respond to messages from the doctor. Other than that it is great. Thank you so much for the valuable service Brightside!

Great doctors that take time to really listen
Fast and knowledgeable doctors that really care.
Great for Mental Health too
I LOVE my practitioner! She's so sweet, really listens, and does a great job helping me manage my condition. I also really like how easy it is to check in and be seen. It's really hard to take time away from work, but I have no trouble fitting in appointments around my schedule so I'm not going without care! Brightside is great and affordable!
New client - not sure yet
Still new here and unsure how to rate properly. Customer service responses are timely and caring. Finding the right team for your needs not so much. Like new medication, It’s try and try again to find what works best for you. Make a list of questions for your initial consult. Be true to yourself listing five primary concerns for discussion. Ask questions about their goals for you and which treatment method will be used to improve your results.
Best around....
Brightside had been more than fantastic. I was able to get placed with a provider that I feel like cares and has helped manage key components of my mental health that I've always struggled with. The cost is more than affordable given the times that we all live in. I've even recommended brightside to multiple coworkers who now are beginning their mental health journey. All in all I wouldn't recommend another provider 5/5 stars for me.

The 3 clinicians I've had within the past year have been very helpful and I truly appreciate their sincerity.
However, tech support is sketchy. The app (main problems I've had relate to the app itself (video feed checks "OK", but then immediately going into session my feed goes blank!) My most recent Dr hasnt even seen me since we started. Getting app help seems removed from the app, so I had to do a Google search to find where to submit Help ticket. Oops, can't do that either; referred to yet another ticket system. Can't speak for others, but they've not been very accomodating for at least one deaf person. Bottom line: please support your clinicians better. $20 charge for being late 7 mins to an appt because I'm trying to get the app to work, stuff like this sets some of us back who are struggling.
they're good
I love this app
I love this app. My counselor is awesome. I feel like we really connect and I can do it all in the comfort of my own home.
