Brilliant Africa Reviews

From start to finish - the goals of our trip were heard and exceeded. Tracy and Alyson gave us all the time we needed in calls and emails to ensure we understood the whole plan, all the options, the budget and every last detail. We were a group of 16 and they worked with us and all of our guests painstakingly and with so much patience! We will be recommending Brilliant Africa to everyone we know!

Brilliant Africa planned an amazing custom 12 day trip for our family to Tanzania and Rwanda. Tracey, Aly and the entire team were incredible from beginning to end and tailored our trip perfectly to what we wanted to see and do, including our last minute additions. The planning was impeccable as we were close to the animals and in the center of the Great Migration in Tanzania. Their local partners were excellent and we loved all of the lodges and camps! Leonardo and the staff at Togoro Plains were some of our favorites! Their partners is Rwanada were also incredible and we loved Five Volcanoes for our gorilla trekking. We had amazing guides in both countries who made our trip seamless and taught us so much! Thank you for a memorable trip as the memories will last a lifetime. Highly recommend.

Alyson at Brilliant Africa took wonderful care of us! Her communication was always prompt and friendly. She put together a beautiful adventure for us! Everything worked out beautifully, all the travel connections, all the reservations, all the people involved, everything. All the staff at every location always knew our names and constantly asked if there was anything they could do for us or bring us. I think between the two of us we took over 500 photos and video that we’ve starting pouring over. I really felt taken care of from the moment we landed till the moment we took off which was exactly what I wanted for us. We will remember this trip for the rest of our lives.

We recently returned from the greatest trip of our lives. My biggest dream was to see the gorillas in Uganda. Aly and all the people at Brilliant Africa knew how big this trip was for me and made it exceed all of my expectations. Having never travelled internationally before, they walked us through all of the preparations and made the trip so perfect for us.

Aly and the crew at Brilliant Africa constructed a wonderful, private, exciting experience for my small group. A gorilla experience, including permits, wonderful lodges and transportation were all a part of their once in a lifetime excursion.

We had a flawless experience on our recent trip to Africa because of the meticulous and extraordinary efforts of everyone associated with Brilliant Africa. Aly Morgan carefully walked us through every detail of the necessary steps we needed to take prior to departing for our trip. From the moment we touched down in Kilimanjaro, we were met with gracious and highly knowledgeable guides who elevated our experiences beyond our wildest expectations. All of the accommodations they recommended for our itinerary were world class, and we were welcomed at each stop along our travels by a kind note and thoughtful gift. Our only wish was that we could have extended our travels even longer! We highly recommend Brilliant Africa for anyone desiring a 5-Star experience!

From the beginning, the representatives who organized our trip for us were helpful, available and responsive to all our questions/concerns. Trip was well orchestrated and ran like a machine. Friendly, knowledgeable people from start to finish. High quality locations, guides, facilities, food were all top notch. Excellence in service was unmatched. Would highly recommend to anyone ready for a safari adventure. Book with Brilliant Africa for the experience of a lifetime vacation!!!

Two week trip that incorporated stays at Arusha Coffee Lodge, Namali, Gibb's Farm, Sanctuary, Cape Town and Babylonstoren - excellent guides, transfers, staff, food and facilities.

I had an outstanding experience with Brilliant Africa! From the start, they truly listened to my needs and hopes for the trip with a personalized approach and active communication that went far beyond that I experienced from other companies when conducting my research and vetting agencies. As one who normally books my own travel (and enjoys doing so), I was reluctant to fully hand the reigns over to someone else, but as a solo traveler on my first journey to Africa, took the leap. I am so glad I did! The team created a personalized itinerary that truly exceeded my expectations, with perfect attention to detail. Every aspect was thoughtfully arranged, ensuring a smooth and unforgettable experience. Their customer service was exceptional – always prompt, friendly, and eager to make sure everything was just right before, during, and after my journey, with that same thought and care demonstrated by their local partners. I couldn't have asked for a better travel experience - it certainly exceeded anything I would have been able to plan for myself (with far less stress)! I can't highly recommend Brilliant Africa enough!

We had the most incredible honeymoon in Tanzania through Brilliant Africa! From start to finish, every detail was flawless. The accommodations were luxurious yet immersed in nature. Our safari guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and ensured we had an unforgettable experience. We saw the Big Five and so much more, and every moment was filled with excitement. After the excitement of the safari, we flew to Zanzibar, where we relaxed at a beautiful resort right on a gorgeous beach with white sand and crystal clear water. If you're looking for a trip that combines adventure, wildlife, and relaxation, this is the perfect choice. Highly recommend!!

Right off - we're from America and had a little trouble finding a company that could help us plan our dream trip to Africa. We stumbled upon Brilliant Africa and were instantly impressed. They communicated quickly and asked all the right questions. I had very specific locations in mind and where all the other agencies tried to push us into a "package trip" Brilliant Africa customized for us. They understood what kind of travelers we are, found the perfect locations, recommended resorts that exceeded our expectations, and checked on us frequently. Our resorts felt special, little secret gems tucked away from the hustle and bustle, every detail more incredible than the next. Elephants walking through camp, freshly cooked omelets in a field of zebras, sundown with wine and a cheetah. All without that crush of people, just us and our guide. Total MAGIC. If you are looking for something special, I would highly recommend Brilliant Africa - a 5 star company that offers genuinely 5 star service.

The team at Brilliant Africa came up with the most spectacular Kili trek and safari while sticking to our budget and being transparent. Aly and Tracy were incredible to work with, always attentive, and responded to our inquiries swiftly. We loved our experiences with all their partners, particularly with Nature Discovery Tanzania while doing the Kili trek. All the guides, staff, and porters with Nature Discovery made this a once-in-a-lifetime and also life changing experience for us and left us feeling so much gratitude and humility. After hiking for 7 days on the mountain we were lucky to be treated with such luxurious accommodations and saw every animal in Ngorongoro Crater and in the Serengeti. Thank you Brilliant Africa for providing us with memories that will last forever.

Brilliant Africa went above and beyond for our honeymoon. They listened to our wants and needs and created a customized itinerary that addressed all of them. They communicated in advance, during, and after the trip to make sure we were comfortable. Truly the trip of a lifetime and could not imagine doing it without Brilliant Africa!

Our trip was extremely well organized from start to finish. The guides were knowledgeable and experienced. The lodges and staff were professional. The people of Tanzania are lovely and gracious. Of course, the wide variety of animals we saw was extraordinary.

Well what can we say, it was wonderful.
Everything worked like clockwork, the staff were wonderful, the lodges were spot on, we were looked after very very very well.
The game drives could not have gone better, we saw everything we expected and more.

Brilliant Africa arranged a Safari for us in Tanzania and Kenya, for September & October 2024. With one minor exception, the four camps were wonderful. The one issue was that one of us has mobility issues and the tented lodge at Ormatai Rocks was difficult to access due to an incomplete trail from the main lodge to our lodge. However, the tented camps at Sanctuary Ngorongoro, at Mara River & Porini Lion Camp were absolutely wonderful with no issues whatever. The staff and the food at all four camps were wonderful. I have absolutely no problem recommending Brilliant Africa to arrange Safaris for anyone applying to experience Africa and all of its wildlife.

From the very beginning, Tracy and Aly were amazing. Booking was simple with 2 or 3 plans drawn up based on our requests, once we had selected one we could just sit back and relax. The beautiful views in all of the parks, the difference in the terrain between Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater and the Northern Serengeti was amazing, seeing the migration and the river crossings just added to the magic! Africa had never been somewhere on my to do list, I was pessimistic at first and initially only agreed for my wife for our Honeymoon, but I am in love with the country of Tanzania, the continent of Africa, the rich diverse culture, the amazing food and the people. We are already discussing a return trip in the future! I could not recommend Brilliant Africa enough to people.

We highly recommend Brilliant Africa for your Safari plans. We first had help from Tracy who listened to our ideas and came up with the plan of everything we wanted to see. We had to make changes of the dates and she was very helpful .
Once the planning was done and the reservations made Alyson helped us with all the details . She helped us get our visas needed for Kenya and Tanzania and the insurance needed for Zanzibar. Anything we needed or any questions we had were replied to the same day or the next.
We arrived in Nairobi and stayed at the Karen Blixen coffee Garden and Cottages. This is in very nice, safe part of Nairobi. We went to the Daphne Sheldrick’s elephant orphanage, the Rothschild giraffe center and visited the Karen Blixen museum.
Then it was off to The River camp in the Ol Pejeta Conservancy. This was our favorite camp of the entire trip. Our guide Yusuf was amazing and the camp was beautiful . We came to see rhinos and we did. The rhino conservation and seeing the last two remaining white rhinos and hearing the plans to try and increase the number was very interesting We saw many animals from this camp and esp the rhinos. We were here 3 nights.
Another small flight and we were at the Maasai Mara area and the ll Moran Camp. We enjoyed our beautiful tent here and were taken care of. It is above the Mara river with many hippos and occasional croc seen from above. Julius was our knowledgeable and fun guide. We were here 4 nights and saw many animals up close. We included the hot air balloon and breakfast and it was very special.
Two flights and 2 bus rides and we crossed into Tanzania and were in the Northern Serengeti at the Siringit Migration camp for 3 nights. We came here to see the migration and we saw 2 large ones one the same day. We were here 3 nights.
One more small flight and we were in the Ngorongoro Crater area and went to see this.We stayed at the Plantation Lodge which wasn’t close to the crater but it was beautiful.
Zanzibar and the Gold Zanzibar BeachHouse and Spa was our final destination. 4 days of relaxing here before we went home. This place was 1 1/2 hours from the airport and town but it was very nice. We did a tour of the town and took a small boat to Prison Island and saw the Aldabra Giant Tortoise.
The trip started with a flawless pickup at the airport, 6 flights around to all our sites, and the nicest , caring people at all the places to take care of us.
We really recommend you plan your trip to Africa with Brilliant Africa and the wonderful, knowledgeable , caring people who work there.

We had the absolute best time on our honeymoon in Tanzania/Zanzibar. It truly was a trip of a lifetime. Honestly everything was perfect from beginning to end. We loved every place we lodged at and Tulia in Zanzibar was the most amazing place to end the trip on. Our two guides we had throughout the trip were incredible. We experienced so much wildlife while there (especially in the Serengeti) and it exceeded our expectations!

Thank you so very much to the Brilliant Africa team for making our honeymoon so memorable.

We are forever grateful.

Aly at Brilliant Africa planned our trip to Uganda and Tanzania. It was awesome. Everything went perfectly. All of the lodges were fantastic! Our guides, drivers, everyone took excellent care of us. There were a lot of moving parts to this trip and Aly made sure everything was taken care of. It could not have been a better experience!
