I purchased my alarm system from Alarm.com. The subscription fee was reasonable until Brinks took over. They now want me to sign a contract with them for an increased fee for the system that I purchased. I called them to cancel a contract that they say I signed for in January of this 2025. I cannot afford the increase in price, and they will not cancel the contract as I purchased my own system to avoid a contract years ago.

The Brinks agent worked extremely hard to resolve my security problem. Somehow my control panel stopped working correctly and he went through multiple steps with me to update the system and resolve the problem. He worked with me for 1Hr and 20Min and was very patient and helpful.

I am very unhappy with this company’s service. I originally went with COX, but they transferred all customers to Brinks, and I faced this unacceptable situation in the 1st month itself.
Complaints about the Brink’s Home Security System for overcharging, not providing a prompt response, taking excessive time to solve the issue, and a lack of courtesy in contacting the customer.
1. I complained about the issue of alarming the security system unnecessarily.
2. I received the troubleshooting appointment approximately 3 months after the complaint.
3. The technician showed up as scheduled on May 20th but couldn't resolve the problem completely.
4. I had to make another effort to make the second complaint and was promised that someone would get back to me within 2 to 3 business days, but it never happened.
5. Again, after several attempts, the problem was solved remotely, and subsequently, I received an invoice for $ 120.00 as a trip charge. ( Invoice #254809091 dated 05/24/2005)
6. I have paid $120 for nothing just for showing up, and the problem was solved remotely later after several phone call attempts, where I do not have to pay for remote repairs.
7. The Brinks just sent a technician claiming that I requested and was not given the remote repair option at first, which is free.
Conclusion:
Very poor service. Neglecting the customer and unnecessary charges, and after all, they revised the invoice cost, separating the trip charge and remote repair, which was said to be free.

I was out of town and there was a false alarm and the police were called. No one called the emergency number. The system seem to have a glitch because when I returned home the next day the alarm didn't show going off.

The Brinks & Alarm.com apps are to restrictive with how networks can be assigned for door cameras and the error prompt and troubleshooting are a joke because they do not give a reason and resolution options to explore that have anything to do with the error.
