Sells bottles he does not have in stock…

Sells bottles he does not have in stock , steals the paypal fees as a way of making revenue , avoid at all costs, threatening behaviour for the sake of a few £ in fees , doesn’t understand the whisky business at all , total con man , outdated and useless website , unbelievably bad customer service , and overreaching on his ability to punch people

It’s a scam

It’s a scam - do not order from here. Garry lies and tries (with great comic effect) to intimidate customers, but he’s not that bright.

Don’t buy from here.

Just had PayPal resolve in my favour - Mr Pickles was raging! Poor wee guy.

I am shocked and appalled in this day…

I am shocked and appalled in this day and age of how dishonest a company could be. Order placed - money changed hands from me - 14 days passed - I tried to contact numerous times with no reply. Eventually the owner got in touch and said the item is out of stock and I will receive a refund ‘minus’ the PayPal fee. The item is still in stock on the site. Other reviews I have read are saying the same - why is this company still trading. Dishonest to the core.

Avoid. Run by a psychopath.

Gary Pickles who runs this company is a joke amongst any serious whisky buyers and collectors.

Every group and forum is full of people warning of his questionable business practices.

Their website says items are in stock, you order, you dont get the item, and then when you are refunded Gary is taking off PayPal fees. When you refund a transaction in PayPal there are no fees to either buyer or seller. I've seen endless screenshots of text conversionation with him threatening people when they question the refund policy.

I've reported him to PayPal, and I've report him to trading standards.

It's beyond shocking this company has not been closed down yet. And whilst no doubt TrustPilot might remove this review - by doing so they are enabling this fraudlent website to continue trading.

I dont doubt that one day Gary will get his day in court. Hopefully shortly followed by several months in prison.

UPDATE FOLLOWING GARRY'S RESPONSE - Good to see you responding Garry, even though as someone who runs numerous business that accept payment on PayPal you are in breach of PayPals terms and conditions by effectively charging a customer for the small fees you pay as a Seller. However, in the cases where stock levels may be an issue, you should only be doing a PayPal pre-authorisation. That way the money isnt actually taken, and then when you realise you don't have the stock, you simply cancel the pre-auth and then there are no fees for anybody. Taking the money when you are aware you have no stock, or have not advised a customer of the lack of the stock, is actually in breach of contract under UK consumer law.

However can you also respond to the NUMEROUS threatening messages you have sent people? I'd be happy to post screenshots of them on social if you like? Or I could knock up a website with a similar domain to yours with screenshots on?

I'd also advise against advertising things as being 'in stock', and advertising that X people have purchased in the last 24 hours (sometimes when its been out of stock for days?) - which given limited bottle numbers clearly isnt true. I've taken several screenshots of this, if you like I can also report you to the ASA?

Or would you like me to send them to the clients you work with through your marketing 'agency'? Or to your local paper? Or to Companies House? We live in a Digital age I'm afraid. You can't make threats to customers and think you are somehow both invisible and invincible.

I'm a substantially wealthy and bored previous customer of yours. I have plenty of time of my hands to be a considerably toxic thorn in your side.

Better customer service needed!

Product was showing as in stock when the order was placed. I email a week later to chase and am told they don't have any.

If they had had the decency to contact me sooner I wouldn't be leaving a 1 star review but they didn't bother to contact me at all!

I only found out that THEY had made an error when I chased them.

And with regards to the review the managing director left about PayPal refunds it is simply not true. If you refund a payment directly the full amount is refunded, straightaway, not in a few days. It is the quickest and easiest way to process the refund and PayPal also refund the fees. The only reason this would not be the case is if you are sending your customers a payment instead of refunding them.

All of this leads me to feeling like this is a bit of a dishonest company. Don't lie to people!

I want to try and use what seem like smaller companies, I assume this was because of the basic website, but they don't do themselves any favours. Won't be back, would advise anyone else to stay clear!

Purchased 3 bottles of whisky through…

Purchased 3 bottles of whisky through the website via PayPal. The company I believe do NOT have any whisky stocks. Instead I was refunded the amount minus a ‘PayPal’ charge. I was told I had to claim this amount missing through PayPal myself. I am now claiming this through PayPal. Very poor customer service. Please share this with other whisky drinkers before this guy/ ‘shyster’ claims other victims.

As an addendum to my review below

As an addendum to my review below, I have just had the PayPal case settled in my favour, and suggest all previous reviewers scammed by this fraudster ensure you raise a dispute to get your full refund back. This is how he makes his money, he has none of the stock he displays on his website. Citizens Advice also advised me to report him to Action Fraud, if enough of us do it we can drive him off the web.

Unbelievable..

Unbelievable... ordered a bottle of whisky and made payment by Paypal. Next day I received a partial refund and no other contact to explain. I contacted the seller to find out what was happening and he said they haven't sold that whisky for years and can't supply it (it's still for sale on their website!). When I advised that he hadn't refunded the full balance he said he has refunded all he got and the rest was my problem. I said I would raise a dispute with Paypal and make a chargeback on my credit card if required and this clown actually said he would take me to court if I did that! Obviously I raised a dispute anyway as his understanding of our legal system appears to be on a par with his ability to run a shop.

Absolute crap company with no customer…

Absolute crap company with no customer service skills.
I Messaged via WhatsApp with someone called Gary I think, I made an enquiry on the prices of 3 types of whisky.
He replied with the price of 1 of the 3. When I asked again for the prices he repeatedly told me that he had already given me the prices... well obviously you haven’t! then when he FINALLY sends me the prices I asked for he followed it with a message asking me if I was genuinely interested in making a purchase or just a time waster!! Wow he had literally just given me the price 5 seconds before that! Then when I responded with, I am genuinely looking to by these types of whisky i am just trying to find the place with best value, I told him that at Costco they sell it for £35, and his company has it priced at £50 a bottle.
Following this he messaged “ok all the best we are not interested in working with you” and then blocks me, 😂 wow
Never buy from here!!! Absolutely no manners
