Opportunistic Billing
I’m beyond disappointed with a recent veterinary experience. What should have been a straightforward visit turned into a situation where procedures were performed without clear prior discussion or consent—and the bill reflected it.
At no point were these additional treatments properly explained, approved, or presented as optional. Yet somehow, they appeared on the final invoice at a significant cost. That’s not just frustrating—it’s unacceptable.
Pet owners trust veterinary professionals to be transparent, ethical, and communicative. We rely on you to guide us, not make unilateral decisions that impact both our pets and our finances.
This experience felt less like care and more like opportunistic billing.
If you’re a pet owner, ask detailed questions, request estimates in writing, and don’t assume everything being done has been clearly communicated. Transparency shouldn’t be optional—it should be standard.
