Brush mate fluid does not work anymore.

Brush mate fluid does not work anymore.
I have had to throw away lots of expensive brushes as they went hard.
I have had brush mate box for 20 years and worked brilliantly up until the last 12 months when they changed the fluid formula.
Now I have thrown away my brush mate box and only use water based paints because of this.

Brush mate is useless and will cost you money if your professional

Brush mate used to keep my oil brushes in great condition. Now 2 days and the oil brushes are dry. I've lost 40 professional quality brushes in the past 6 months due to this. Its has cost me a fortune in hamilton brushes. Going back to the water in a pot method. Thanks alot brush mate for wasting my profits. Absolutely useless now. Now I have to take time and money to try to revive brushes with cleaners if I can.

I have been using brushmate for longer…

I have been using brushmate for longer than I can remember but since the new formula has come out brushes go hard within a few days being in the box I don't know why most trade centres still sell this product as it's false advertisement this should be taken off the shelves I've ruined good brushes that have took years to get into a shape

Brush mate trade 20 no longer works with the new fluid

Having been in the business since the 80s and using a brush mate since 1985 it’s been really disappointing to find that the new fluid doesn’t work anymore. They have banned the use of the substance that made it work. Cost me a fortune in ruined brushes as well.
Absolute Rubbish and the whole idea should be scrapped rather than fobbing us off with ‘ new fluid ‘ that doesn’t work…

If I could give zero stars I would

If I could give zero stars I would, this product is simply not fit for purpose anymore, I think I got my first brush box in the 90,s , it was great but now what a disaster, here’s a couple of examples, clearing up in a rush earlier this year (winter) and forgot to put one brush in the box this was on a Friday, Monday morning took a brush from the the box it had gone hard the one I forgot to put away was softer ! I even have gone to the extreme of putting a brush in a plastic bag with a bit of fluid and storing in the box , even that doesn’t work! Complete waste of money

I have been a Brushmate user for nearly…

I have been a Brushmate user for nearly 20 years and have loved it,
Sometimes leaving brushes for months on end without them drying out.
About a year or two ago I noticed that this was not the case anymore so I replaced everything inside the box as well as the lid,
Nowadays my brushes sometimes are getting hard after only 2 days.
I’ve heard that the company has had to change the way the liquid that keeps everything from drying is made.
Not good

Have an original brushmate ,recommended it many times ,loved it but over the past few years it has stopped working brushes going hard within a couple of days despite buying brushmate fluid and even putting 2 at a time in the box . We even went back to keeping our brushes in water. I then saw a video where he was using Standard Thinners.... instead of brushmate fluid.... brilliant working again. Don't brushmate test the fluid does the job before they rip us off.
