They did it again

They did it again. I'm a frequent flyer Miles & More. Had accident and shoulder surgery. Damage arm, partial paralysis and another surgery in view these next monts. I asked, being priority, as I always do in Zaventem, to be allowed through the unimpaired passengers control. Airport attendant with a GS badge flatly refused, saying (sic) : "For just an arm, you're not allowed". How come I am on every flight, except when a bully is wielding his so-called authority. (Un)welcome to Belgium.

P.S. Today, another flight. Attendant was not "GS" (Security), but Brussels Airport (white shirt) and allowed me normally through unimpaired control. Ridiculous and arbitrary.

Terrible experience: allow extra 2 hours to get through passport control when departing

There was one person on passport control for hundreds of non-EC departing passengers and we had to wait about 90 minutes to get through in a hot, crowded hall. This was after queueing for security. One old lady fainted and the staff just yanked her to her feet and dragged her away. The staff were rude, scruffy and uncaring and no explanation was given for the long wait. It was unbelievable and I will never travel through Brussels again. Avoid it like the plague.

Awful airport

Awful airport. Unhelpful staff! Queues are huge and if you need to get through in a hurry as you have an appointment for surgery they simply do not care!
Vile people!

No employee to help in the baggage claim area

When you arrive in the baggage claim area…there is no employee to give you some information.
We arrived on Feb 14th 2024 from Sydney via Dubai with an off-size box.
We couldn’t find that box and there was nobody to help us.
Finally a worker collecting luggages for travellers told us where to go.
There was an off size office in a corner, with nobody at the desk.
The odd-size boxes and other stuff were simply dropped on the floor around the desk. Kind of a self service to pick up any article you want. Our box was there laying on the ground.
Brussels Airport does not know what means customer service. Even a regional airport in Tasmania offers a far better service.

One of worst

A part of very unfriendly staff, at gates B there are only 2 wc, one is not allowed to access to all passengers. Only the ones boarding from there. If there’re more, they are not indicated. One of the few worst airports in Europe.

Checked-in with TAP

Checked-in with TAP, long queues and everybody seemed to have a problem. They took 40 minutes to check-in just six people. On reaching check-in, the agent avoided eye contact with me. I Informed the lady that I had already checked-in, I just needed to do a bag drop. I was told let me do my job or if you can do it better apply for my position. I bought a classic fare that included hold baggage. I was told this was not the case and I had to pay for 20 kilos of luggage. Luckily I had a copy of my ticket. Next a number of calls before she conceded. In conclusion the worst check-in experience in 45 years of traveling. On my return immigration was very poor, not an European Citizen, two people working, with over 1000 people in the queue. Surprised considering EU position.

Terrible arrivals experience every time

If I could rate 0 stars I would. Appallingly slow Passport Control experience every time. Wait time of 90+ mins is the norm. Frequently only 2 or 3 officers on duty for a queue of over 1000 people. Does Belgium want tourists to visit? Or even just to offer a pleasant arrivals experience? For the self-proclaimed Heart of Europe, it’s shocking & shameful. No other European airport is this bad.

Absolutely the worst airport I've ever…

Absolutely the worst airport I've ever been in my life and I travel a lot across continents. The security check takes ages and somehow they start to double check all the bags for BS reasons, then they open the bag and spend hours searching for the dumbest thing, after long searches they are like 'oh you can't take this shampoo', they offer no solution except we have to throw it away. No lockers in the airport. Can't hand it to a lost and found object. Or remove the excess. I've taken bottles of shampoo in the past without any issues at any other airports. Complete waste in the environment, very environmentally unfriendly and wasting people's money. The staff had such a punchable face. Meanwhile bottles of alcohol are regularly offered at the airplanes! Absolutely disgusting, mightmare of an airport to absolutely avoid if one does not want to lose simple belongings and stuff by security checks!

1 star is generous

1 star is generous, passport control took 1 hour 45 minutes and then 2 hours the following trip, both times coming from Heathrow arriving at midday. There were 3 people at border control. Absolutely disgusting I’ve been to 45 countries and this is the slowest and most APPAULING queue I’ve come across - aside from
Dublin security. Avoid avoid avoid and take the train! It sickens me that this is how the HQ of the EU would treat people. A disgusting reflection on their organisation and something they should be ashamed for

THIS IS A JOKE

THIS IS A JOKE. Currently stood in line for passport control and there are only 2/3 officers with over 1500 people waiting in line. I’ve seen most of these reviews are about the same thing and knowing they are doing NOTHING to change that is disgusting. Take the train omg please take the train.

No.1 corrupt airport in the world

By far the most corrupt airport I've been to. Especially when dealing with the employees from Brussels Airlines. My stalker was able to buy every single one of them off ro mess with my tickets. I literally spent over €2500 on flight I couldn't take due to organised crime and corruptiom from the airport personal. Awful experience.

Slowest security check ever

Every single time I come through Brussels airport I need to add extra time for the poorly organised security check. They need to fix their scanning procedure as they consistently double check far more than half the hand luggage. This means the queue is backed up with people waiting unnecessarily. I travel a lot an know how to pack hand luggage. Somehow they ALWAYS need to double check it in Brussels and it’s always understaffed and rude people doing it

I was travelling home from the…Artistic world gymnastics championships

I was travelling home from the gymnastics world championships. Luck would have it I also joined the GB Team on the flight. I was there 2.5 hours before my flight (plenty of time), but check in hadn't even opened. Come 2 hours, it was only just waking up and nothing was organised. The GB team naturally had a lot of luggage and the check in was totally underprepared for this. By the time the rest of us were starting to go through we had 15 mins to get through security and customs before our flight boarded (and I was near the beginning). I've since learned other flights have had similar issues.
Security was busy (not unusual for airports but if check in had opened sooner that wouldn't have been an issue) and ditto customs. We would have missed the flight if the GB team hadn't been so assertive.
This could all have been solved if the airport had planned ahead knowing full well there was a major international sporting event on so full teams would be flying home with all their gear and opened sooner. I know the teams weren't impressed either.
