ABARTH 695 BIPOSTO 'RECORD'.

After purchase, and rightly or wrongly, I did leave a 5 star review, however, as you will see continued ownership turned into a nightmare; this is the story as factual and truthful as I can be.

In the later part of 2024 I purchased from BS Marson & Son Ltd online a rare Abarth 695 Biposto Record.

The vehicle was delivered to my home address.

To start, even after pestering the garage they failed to provide a receipt for the purchase.

OK, It took the best part of a year for the garage to rectify an electrical fault.

I also spent in total approximately £3200 at a local specialist to make repairs etc; some im convinced were present at handover but cannot prove.

In addition, after consideration, i decided to sell due to a hard ride caused by standard fitment of extreme suspension components.

Subsequently I sold to a premium car supermarket however they informed me it was previously damaged and classified as a Category X unrecorded vehicle who's purchase at the time was at a salvage auction; They duly cancelled the purchase immediately, I was really shocked.

The vehicle was undriveable when at Auction.

As a matter of interest discrepancies visible to the naked eye were incorrect bonnet fitted (genuine 'Record' bonnets are expensive), missing rare Limited edition badges, cheap aftermarket induction kit fitted, missing carbon fibre engine components, poor front end fitment and respray (poor masking tape positioning)

I remain mortified how such a rare vehicle can be sold by a reputable garage in such a poor condition with little or no regard.

At no stage was I made aware either in their sales descriptions or in writing or by word of mouth.

As a matter of interest another online presence offered on or around a third of its value (due to the accident incident) a derisory figure given the escalating value of these cars.

Recently I have seen these cars advertised for four times the value I was offered.

I tried five other specialist garages but none would entertain a PX due to it's adverse history.

Eventually, I was able to find a local garage who, after much discussion, took the vehicle in PX, however, even after making a loss, I had to spend more than I wanted to get the best PX value.

When contacting recently Directors of BS Marson & Son LTD on two occasions specifically about matters relating to the car i never received the courtesy of a reply.

I get the impression they may be trying to sweep this under the carpet. I am certainly not a mug and dont wish to be treated like one.

All im saying is be extremely careful here, I say no more.

Friendly and hassle free experience from a team who know what customer service means

I recently purchased a used Mercedes from BS Marson after being without a car for a short time. I enquired the day before about a test drive on their website. Steve was quick to respond and we arranged a time for the following day. I arrived by taxi and found the car parked front and center ready for me to have a look around. Steve just gave me the keys and let me look at my own pace, but remained available for any questions. The car had ample fuel for a decent test drive and I was allowed to head out on my own in whatever direction made sense for me to properly evaluate the vehicle. No time limits were given and it felt totally hassle-free.

I decided to go ahead with the purchase, Steve already had the paperwork organised and had spoken with his team about any movement on price etc. It was a painless process to make payment and we agreed they'd prep the car and I'd pick it up in a few days in time for a trip I had planned to the south coast.

The day before I was due to collect, I had a call from Steve to advise that they'd sent the car to Mercedes for a multi-point check as part of getting it ready, however Mercedes had identified an outstanding recall and wanted to complete the work which meant that the car wouldn't be ready for another few days. Naturally I was a little disappointed, but also impressed that BS Marson went the extra mile by getting the car independently inspected by the main dealer.

Steve apologised for the inconvenience and arranged to loan me one of their courtesy cars so that I could complete my planned trip.

I collected my new car a few days later. It was fully valeted, all paperwork completed, history & manuals provided and Steve even topped it up with fuel before I hopped in and drove away.

All in all a very positive and hassle-free experience. I'd definitely recommend BS Marson to others.

5 Stars!

We had 5 star treatment from the minute we looked around the car lot to driving away with our new-to-us car! Everyone we dealt with give us brilliant service, especially Steve who was just great. Big thanks also to Matt and of course, John! What a fabulous family business. Many thanks!

Well after an incident with a mount and…

Well after an incident with a mount and strut change ( no fault of marsons ) another place had fitted it, I knew the drive wasn’t nice , was actually awful and felt dangerous ,I kept taking car back to the place who fitted it and they was stating it was fine , anyhow, I decided to ask bsmarson to look at the work, and they pin pointed the issue within minutes , others had totally messed up strut mount insulations . I had the worse drive I’ve ever had going up to stoke today to see them but they rectified the issue of another garage quick smart and it was like a new car driving back , with their notes on work done I got a refund from the original place for a job bad done

Thank you so much . I think it’s safer just to bring my fiat and take that little longer drive to bring my car to you guys in future , don’t have to risk any cowboys

Steve and the team are so friendly!

I have recently brought a car from this dealership. My salesman Steve had approached me and mum who were going in blind sighted. Steve was amazing and never made us feel pressured or pushed to do anything. He talked us through each car I was interested in and displayed both the positives and negatives of the car. Which I really apricated and showed to us that we were going to the right place.
Steve was extremely professional and most importantly friendly. I am extremely happy with my car purchase, and although I have had too bring my car in for some minor fixes, the whole team were exceptional and ensured to explain what was going to happen. Once all fixes were done my car was ready in less than 5 hours!
Absolutely amazing, super friendly and over all exceptional service.

Efficient, generous and pain free

I met the dealership BS Marson at the Anniversario Abarth 75 UK in June and hankered over the new Abarth 500e. Within 2 weeks the new car was on my drive. I am so impressed with the ease and speed of the process but also the supportive communication all the way through the purchase. All my dealings were pleasant and efficient and I left feeling I had achieved a superb deal and they were happy too so that's a win win in my books. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend BS Marson.

Having bought a car 10 months ago

Having bought a car 10 months ago. From John Marson.
I have nothing but trouble with the Kia Rio ,
Over the last month I have tried to ring John Marson a number of times(I have still got the number of times I have rang) to be told by receptionist I will get him to call you back. Still waiting for a call back.
The week after getting fed up with waiting,
I took the car to another garage with great reviews.
And the 1st thing he said to me please dont drive that car any more its in a dangerous condition.
The subframe is so badly coroded and rusty, its a wonder the car has not fallen apart. HIS ADIVCE IS.
The only thing is take it to a scrap yard. I HAVE BEEN LET DOWN BIG STYLE. AND NO MONEY TO BUY ANOTHER CAR.
STAY AWAY FROM MARSONS

Purchased a car from them in March this…

Purchased a car from them in March this year. My wife and I love the car. After a couple of longer drives I noticed that the brakes seemed to have an issue. Took the car in and they test drove it and agreed that there was an issue. Booked in within a week or so and had the problem resolved on the warranty. Also had a courtesy car arranged. After a day in the workshops I picked the car up. Nice to deal with a family business that actually cares about it's customers.

Great Service / Repair Experience

I took my car to BS Marson as a last resort due to problems with a broken Sensor. It's an older Fiat, so I wouldn't normally use a main franchise dealer. I have to say that I was very impressed with everything they did for me. The Service Advisor, Jonathan Bunn couldn't have done enough. Kept me fully informed and was always polite and pleasant to deal with. I was offered a curtesy car and my car was returned with everything sorted and even a clean. The cost of this was very reasonable and I can't see that I would have got it cheaper through an independent garage. All in all a fantastic experience. I would definitely use them again.

Thankyou John (who sold me my car)

Thankyou John (who sold me my car). Explained everything in plain English. Very impressed with him. This is my 3rd car I have purchased with Marsons & I LOVE my brand new Fiat 500. A blip with a tyre but it was resolved within 24 hours. I can’t fault the amazing help which I had with the problem. Bad experience - avoid

I had a very bad experience with BS Marson. Literally the day after buying the car, the alarm went off and the power steering wouldn't function. For about 6 weeks I had to go back and forth to the garage while they investigated. The car had to sit idle for 30 minutes every time I wanted to use it, before it would function. They blamed my insurance tracker, so I then had to fork out for a new insurance policy - only to then be told later it was the steering column. Of course, anything can go wrong at any time, but surely they would have checked the car over before selling it (I thought...). Not only that, but 6 months after buying the car I was told it needed to be serviced. I had explicitly asked the sales guy whether it would be serviced before I bought it, and was told yes - this was obviously a lie. They did give me a free service as compensation, hence 2 stars.

Great service…

have just purchased a used kia from these fine gentlemen from stoke and the service I received was second to none travel from newcastle upon Tyne to pick up my car was picked up swiftly from train station by one of there staff and given enough fuel to get me home again the motor couldn't not be better also would recommend

SIMPLEY THE BEST IN THE BUSINESS

I have purchased 3 cars now through this company and have had a good experience every time. My 3rd car developed a fault that could not be fixed and this company pulled out all the stops to get me a replacement. John and Steve spent a few months finding me my replacement and not just a replacement but a top of the range model. I have not stopped smiling since taking ownership of it. THIS COMPANY IS THE BEST and its staff are impressive too. Nothing is too much trouble, they listen to you, and then they pull out all the stops to give you the best experience of this friendly family business.

Helped me in a tight spot

So I rocked up on a Bank Holiday Saturday afternoon with a car I’d not even bought from them, and they straight away diagnosed the fault, gave me good advice, offered me a courtesy car and to order a part for repair. Definitely will consider taking car there in the future.

Outstanding service especially from Steve!!!!

Outstanding service! I have just brought a car from these guys. I dealt with Steve from start to finish! He was very patient with myself, working around my work hours to contact me, extremely friendly, no pressure to buy the car what so ever and also no pressure to purchase add ons such as extended warranty ect…. He made sure I knew every last detail and that I was happy with everything prior to completing the purchase. I can not recommend these guys enough! They have been absolutely amazing!! I had my car delivered, this was not driven to my location (meaning no extra miles). I can not thank Steve enough what a guy!!!

Brought a car from them that do not use them.. started to…

Brought a car from them that started to have problems. They took it in and gave me 3 day wait. Every time I rang after the 3 days they said don't know where it I. It took over 3 weeks to get it back and the problems weren't solved I spoke to the police and they said they are bullies. No sorry nothing. The staff did say it was madness I hadn't had my car but the owner was abusive. Do not use them.. !!!!
