Unforgettable day exploring the kilimanjaro region.
We had an absolutely unforgettable day exploring the Kilimanjaro region, starting with a morning at Serval Wildlife. It’s not your typical "zoo" experience; it felt much more personal. Being able to get up close and feed the giraffes was incredible, they are so gentle and massive in person! We also saw elands, ostriches, and the serval cats themselves. The staff were great at explaining how they care for the animals, which made the experience feel responsible and educational.
After the wildlife, we headed to Materuni Village. We took a guided hike to reach the waterfall. The air was so fresh, and seeing the water crash down from such a height was breathtaking (and a bit chilly if you get too close!).
To wrap it up, we joined a traditional coffee ceremony. We helped grind the beans while the locals sang and danced with us. Drinking a cup of coffee that we helped make, was the perfect way to end the day.
