Not honest regarding stock
Ordered a watch expecting it to be shipped within 1-3 days… it has been 2 weeks and when contacted customer service they said they don’t have it in Stock so I have to wait another 2 weeks!!!! Terrible customer service and false advertising in my opinion as the website still allows you to place an order for the same watch and it states dispatched within 1-3 days. Customer service was not very helpful, simple wash their hands and blame website team for the comment regarding the stock…
Garmin use ups to deliver! Why?
Garmin use ups to deliver. This has been the worst deliver experience I have received in years. UPS are useless and slow. Which only seems to be topped by the slow nature of Garmin. My delivery was taking so long that I asked to cancel my order so I could just go to my local shop and buy one only to be told I will have to wait for the delivery and then organise to drop it off at ups to deliver back to them. I even offered to pickup the watch as it is sitting in a depot less then 15 km form my house. I was told no. Even though the watch is there it will remain there for 4 days before it goes for delivery. Absolute joke
The one time I contacted customer…
The one time I contacted customer service because my 245 music has the blue triangle of death, I was offered to purchase a refurbished 245 music for £120.
Seems a bit ridiculous that is the best Garmin can do - I bought the watch brand new for £200.
When I asked instead if I can have credit towards me buying a new watch, they said no.
Really terrible policy and I'm not happy with the service at all.
Poor warranty SLA
My FR955 Solar is faulty for a second time (first time battery life was only a few days and this time the heart sensor is faulty giving me incorrect readings). It took about a week or two having to provide various info before they would take my word for the fact the product was faulty on both occasions. Pretty bad in my opinion.
Told to return the watch using their UPS courier, who never showed up after booking, so dropped it at the nearest collection point. Inconvenient.
The delivery to Garmin was confirmed by UPS tracking and a week later it is still not registered on the returns page. The service rep, who in all fairness responds within half a day, informed me that it's still within their 10 working days SLA to mark as delivered and begin the replacement process. There is no way to negotiate this and they won't expedite the process. You're at the mercy of the company's very poor processes after buying, which is a concern given their products are clearly poorly constructed despite the high price tag (at least the Forerunner series are). I expected far more paying 600 Euros for a running watch.
So in short - faulty devices, delayed warranty process requiring all sorts of evidence before they believe you, and a slow poor warranty process. And what's more they will give you a refurbed model, not a new model, to replace the faulty product that is still under warranty. So beware of that too.
If you can't avoid Garmin altogether I recommend you avoid the Forerunner series as I've had a very poor experience.
Customer Service rep RUDE and Disrespectful...
Shocked at the Customer Service rep in UK when I rang to discuss problems with the Fenix 5S Plus purchased a few years back. After sharing my husbands Garmin is an older model than mine, and works perfectly well, the point being why was my newer watch not able to be serviced. the customer service rep consisently tried to sell me the newer model, sharing they no longer service the Fenix 5SPlus. When I questioned how is this possible, he said "Defer to your husband, then let us know if you would like to upgrade models" - EXCUSE ME! "Discuss it with my husband" - what decade are you living in. How disrespectful, condescending, and subservient of a comment is this from Garmin UK. Totally offended at lack of support and rude comments.
MD supports assault on people
Well this .. Company employee assaulting and endangered a drone pilot in the public area outside. Really terrible attitude towards a legal activity. Didn’t have a clue about the law or CAA legislation yet tried to snatch the controller from an operators hand while in flight and near electrical pylons.
I paid over £100 for a nuvi sat nav…
I paid over £100 for a nuvi sat nav some time ago, a couple of years ago I paid another £70 for life time maps after being informed that this was the only way I could continue to use the unit, last year they announced that they are discontinuing map updates, thereby making the unit obsolete, what a shabby way to treat customers who chose to continue to support what I for one believed to be a reputable company, rather than buy newer far superior technology for less than half the price of the promised and paid for lifetime maps. No compensation, offer or alternative other than chuck it in the bin. Shame on you garmin, will never buy from them again. Absolutely disgusted.
My experience with the Garmin Fenix 6…
My experience with the Garmin Fenix 6 Solar watch has been nothing short of frustrating. The watch, which is marketed as a high-end device, completely failed to function as expected. The worst part was not just the product failure, but Garmin's inadequate response to the issue.
When my Fenix 6 Solar stopped working, I naturally reached out to Garmin for support. To my shock, they offered no repair options, effectively leaving me with a useless, expensive piece of technology. Their lack of support for repairs is unacceptable for a product in this price range.
The solution offered was far from satisfactory. I was forced to pay an additional 300 euros to get a new watch. Adding insult to injury, I had to wait an entire month for the replacement to arrive. This level of service is simply unacceptable for a premium product.
I cannot recommend the Garmin Fenix 6 Solar or Garmin as a company based on this experience. Potential buyers should be aware of the risk they're taking with both the product reliability and the company's customer service before making a purchase.
Garmin Approach G80
Garmin Approach G80. Original unit replaced in warranty period due to power button not working. Replacement unit held charge for about 2 hours then died. Now trying to navigate their 'support' system again and losing will to live.
The device frequently fails to record…
The device frequently fails to record information while I am wearing it. The connect software has had to be uninstalled twice. It is ineffective compared to my 10 year old Fitbit. Complete waste of money, purchase something similar from another manufacturer.
The Garmin software update completely…
The Garmin software update completely corrupted my Forerunner. It no longer even turns on. I have contacted Garmin and they offer no help. I wrote to the Managing Director, Mr J Oliver, but he has not had the courtesy to bother replying to my letter or follow up email. DO NOT BUY.

I bought a scale. No delivery date was confimed when purchased it online. I followed up with customer services 4 days later and they advised that
they didn't know when it will arrive. Thye mentioned that it takes between 1-3 working days after client receives the email that the order has been shipped... . Totally unaccepatble as client is never infomed of how long it will take in been dispatched. I bought I gift for fathers day 10days in advance and I stll don't know when it will arrive...
Hopeless staff, excessive charges and pitiful service
Took forever to respond, navigate the claims system. Incompetence of the highest level. 3 months later and they still won't refund the excess.amount they charged me.
Do not believe anything they say.
Garmin should offer battery replacement…
Garmin should offer battery replacement in Chile. Without this service, my 4-year-old watch is now just another piece of e-waste. This needs to change
Shocking.
If you can find your way to technical support, you may be lucky and get some decent help. However the quality of the Usex and useability of the online sites is utterly shocking for a company involved in tech. Really, sack the senior managers and start again, they are awful.
Have a 4 year old Garmin Edge 1030 defective and shuts down
Have a 4 year old Garmin Edge 1030, It started shutting off in cold weather well above the threshold in specs. They said well it may be defect or may be getting old battery. That's their troubleshooting. They said hey we can give you 20% thats it. So they sent me a link and literally found it for less on open market. Pointed this out and they said, oh you got a better deal. Also they were going to charge me far more on my credit card until I returned the garmin 1030. What!!! Were they going to sell it as a refurb to someone unsuspecting? No real customer service at all.
Superb service
I own an Edge 530 bike computer. The altimeter failed. I contacted Garmin, followed the instructions and within 3 working days they had supplied me with a new replacement.
Superb service
46,000 golf courses… 45,000 have errors
They advertise 46,000 golf courses, but don’t mention how many are accurate. Based on my experience, I’d guess not many. I’ve only checked 2 courses with Approach G80, both had errors. One course had 2 holes with incorrect par plus wrong slope rating. The handicap calculation using index/slope rating is way off from WHS calculation… by 7 shots. For the other course I tested, the slope rating was off by 14. I submitted course error report a month ago, but didn’t get a confirmation email or any response. I submitted it again today & then went on their customer support chat. Was told because they have 46,000 courses, updates are rolled out in batches 3 times a year, but couldn’t tell me when the next release is or if the errors I reported would be included. So essentially the €500 device I purchased is essentially useless.
Purchased the Garmin bc40 wireless…
Purchased the Garmin bc40 wireless reverse camera. Screen cracked after two months for no reason at all. Never had this issue with previous aftermarket cameras I’ve used. Obviously made from cheap materials. When I made a complaint to Garmin, they advised I’d need to pay a further £81.53 for a replacement which is an absolute joke. Don’t buy, awful product, awful customer service
Failing to address issues with known device design flaws
Got a Vivosmart 5 watch a couple of years ago for Christmas which developed a problem with the button. This is apparently a known design flaw in the design because Garmin have help pages dedicated to resolving it. A piece of dirt gets stuck in the single interface button, which makes the device impossible to use.
Garmin replaced the first device without any fuss. The replacement then developed the exact same problem within two months of receiving it.
Garmin have offered me another replacement but refuse to replace it with a properly functioning model or give me a refund, meaning that I now expect to have to go through this whole process again in a few months when the same problem develops yet again.
