Disgusting company, I received product once but I did not receive (and paid for) a second order. Then they have the audacity to challenge the credit card refund request.
Literally a company of thieves. Stay away.

Back in January I ordered a number of bags of compost fromBlack Gold, they were duly delivered and I was pleased with the quality. In April I decided to order 3 of their 1400 litre bulk bags at a cost of £364.47. They took the money, but since then, nothing. Like others I have tried phoning and emailing them, but absolutely no response. I don’t know whether it is a scam, or more likely they have gone into liquidation. Painful either way.

As with the other reviews, no product received and it's impossible to get in contact with the company. I've disputed the transaction through the bank.

Fraud! Website now down, they’ve taken the money and no product. Having to make a claim via the credit card company now. Can’t get hold of anyone at that company, or Beaver (BI) that seemingly are the ones behind the mask.

Product not delivered. Won't answer phones or emails. Website now down. Part of Beaver Compost and BI Group. Trying to get money back through bank but and be taking legal action. Fraudulent website - do not buy!

Awful customer service, there is no confirmation of order being placed, no update, neither do the answer the phone, have been trying to reach them for over a week.. each time on phone for close to 30 minutes.. yet no one answers...horrendous.. I will have to ask the Card company to cancel the payment.

Terrible service and no product.
Ordered in March, paid by credit card, no response after three weeks, no response to phone or e mail.Then an e mail promising delivery in next week. Again no delivery and no response to e mails or phone. After 4 weeks went to trading standards and got a refund the next day.
The firm operates under several names and websites Beaver Soil Mulch being another alias.
A bunch of scammers and liars, that cant answer their phone or e mail but respond to a bad review in under 30 minutes.

Scammers
Ordered topsoil. Money taken from credit card. No acknowledgement. Email to them resulted in reply from different email address using two different names. Promised order acknowledgement not received. No reply to telephone calls. Emailed within 7 days to cancel order. Still no response. Chargeback obtained from credit card provider after required 30 day wait for delivery. Three days later received notification from pallet company of a delivery. Enquiries to them indicated that this was for topsoil, less than had been ordered and from a completely different company. I refused the delivery as the order had been cancelled.

Ordered manure on 7 March with a 2 - 4 working day delivery. Chased order a week later by email and phone both of which received no reply. On 18 March received a generic email to say item would be delivered soon (no actual date given). Send numerous emails and tried repeatedly to phone company. Each and every time ignored or unanswered. On 12 April received email from delivery company to say shipment in progress. Rang delivery company to say item had been cancelled and would not accept delivery. This has been noted but delivery may still be attempted although the item has been cancelled and will not be accepted.

PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT ORDER WITH THIS COMPANY.

I have tried to leave two negative reviews on their website and guess what, they don't appear.

After trying to email and a four-hour long phonecall where nobody answered, I realised I may have been scammed out of a lot of money and had checked here for reviews which confirmed my frustration and suspicion. Even more telling is the 5 star comment below mine which is posted on three separate-yet-related companies that just goes to show they're trying to cover their tracks. I have since applied for a chargeback from my bank and advise other people to do the same.

Quality product and packaged well. Received next day

I too was concerned at the reviews and cannot get through on the phone number, but found in cancellations that if you want to cancel you have to send it back to Beaver Soil n Mulch. The number on google for them is incorrect, and they don't seem to answer the number on the website either. When I did get through to Beaver, they seem to be part of a 'group' with Black Gold and 'buycompostonline.co.uk', and like other reviewers looking on companies house and the like makes you really worried you have been scammed, with same director names, and similar sounding company with dormant status. However today received an email that it's on its way so I await with bated breath and hope against hope they deliver the right thing and that it's good. Still very nervous having read other reviews also for Beaver. Update: Both products arrived (delivery guys excellent) not used either yet. Mushroom compost smells very strong, so not sure whether it's safe to use. The whole experience and suspicious 5* reviews being posted by the same people on all the related companies on Trustpilot means I will never use anything other than well known companies again.

No one answers the phone or emails. Total scam.

This company is a scam! Do not fall for its website. The product has not been received, three weeks after ordering. Customer service is non existent. One generic email (from a Gmail account) to acknowledge they are short staffed. Nonsense. I've lost £150. If you want to start spring planting, please avoid ordering. March 2022

Ordered goods received delaying tactic email saying delivery problems then another saying despatchd(it wasn't) I cancelled order and was told I'd get a refund(I didn't) claimed money back through credit card
DO NOT use this company It is a con.

Paid 21st Feb on a 3-5 day service. March 9th tomorrow and nothing. They don’t answer the phone or respond to emails. On closer inspection of the website I think it maybe a scam. Dodgy company address. Dormant company at companies house. Happy to be corrected but that would involve them getting in touch…or actually delivering the compost! Don’t fall for it as I did.

Compost ordered on 12 Jan 2022,dispatched 18Jan, still waiting 1 March. Don't answer phone and give a standard I'll chase it up with the delivery company.
