If you register, you will be bombarded with emails and asked to pay money to read them as such.
Unknowingly you will have subsequently signed up for recurrent billing
I have today received a charge of £40, so asked my bank to block my card
i have asked C-Date for a refund, if they don’t oblige i will raise a fraud case through my bank, which i have been advised i can do.
Also cancelling subscriptions is ridiculously difficult

Seems like a scam
I joined this site for 1 month and paid for that month. I then cancelled and the service was stopped .
A few months later they say I owe £39.99 . Very strange sounds like a dodgy way to get money.

The guy is saying I didn't cancel. I cancelled the reoccurring payment. You then stopped the service so I got what I paid for.
You are now charging for a service you never gave. You are using this to catch people out. The site itself is terrible it's full of fake profiles. It's a big scam.

I signed up for C-date in December…
I signed up for C-date in December 2024. It has member profiles who don't respond. I assume they are not real.
I notified c-date emailing them to cancel my subscription in accordance with their instructions and in advance according to their T's & C's.
They did not reply. They then took £39.90 from my PayPal account for the following months subscription, so I canceled the direct debit and advised their service contact of their illegal collection from my PayPal account. They didn't respond.
They have sent me emails for payment plus additional costs that I have ignored.
their collection team SVEA have sent me a letter through the post demanding payment and more cost.
I have no idea how they got my full name and address.
I have replied asking them to stop and return my £39.90
I very much doubt that I will get a reply and I will respond with legal action if they continue to harass me.
DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY MONEY. They need to be closed down

Hello I’ve personally never even heard of this website in till received a letter from SVEA asking me for payment of 94,02 apparently the second and final request for payment, I have never received anything before from c-date regarding payment. I’ve spoken to citizens advice and they have reported you to trading standards. I don’t even know how to cancel as never been on the site. Somebody has clearly used my email and registered without my consent. I’m a happily married man and this website would never be for me. Could you please respond

Horrible people signed for one months subscription only, the site was useless, tried everything I could to close my account and they would not engage with me. Send letters from debt collectors now, I will see them in court and report them to trading standards. Avoid cdate the site is just a scam. Facebook have a free dating site. If a renewal payment isn’t made, we send two reminders. If there’s still no response, the case is handed to an external collection agency, which is what’s happened here. At this point, you need to contact them directly to discuss your case.

The site is rubbish. No one within 50 miles of me and I live in a city.
Tried to cancel but there is NO facility to do so.
Tried messaging them but they reply stating to cancel via a link ... which DOES NOT exist.
I've cancelled my payment via my bank.
Update: they have now replied and have said that they have cancelled me from mid-May 2025.
So ... assume that they have now done so ... unless i'm back to update to the contrary!

I am a female on this and it is all free for us. I am genuine but am just trying to make friends (so chose the friendship option). To cancel you cannot just send an email they WILL NOT ACCEPT IT , you have to print it sign it scan it amd either post or email it, I find this is a massive scam I ha e already reported them to trading standards, a site you join online that cannot be cancelled online??? The platform is not fit for purpose and I wpuld advise anyone who is threatened after canceling to contact bank and not to be intimidated but best advise is stay well clear of the pile of c##p

Writing this here from spending 30minutes reading the horrible reviews about the site.
Signed up earlier on today for a 1-month membership. Have gone through many lengths to cancel my premium subscription, both via writing an email to the support team and using their “easy” portal on the homepage.
Received automated confirmation emails saying that my subscription is being cancelled and so is my account…based off these reviews I am not trusting it.
I have emailed asking for written confirmation of my account deletion and subscription cancellation.
Not going to allow them to take another penny from me
Will update as I learn more, wanted to write here as to share the word
