Parents beware. The staff at the McLean office uses scare tactics when enrolling to upsell the amount of hours needed to purchase. Not only were we told our child would not be getting into a good college, we were also instructed that we should have began the college planning process in 7th grade and were behind the curve by a lot. We explained that our student is in full IB course work in Arlington, VA. We were assured that they are capable in dealing with students in this category. They are not. We ended up signing up for 200 hours of tutoring at a cost of close to 12k. Our student utilized half of the hours and was on a strict regimen of attending tutoring consistently along with full IB coursework. We had absolutely no college counseling and or help with essays or college applications or college choice advisement. Other than them stating our child would not be a candidate into any of the school on her list. Beware of the refund policy which they will state is on the “back of the contract” and an abomination compared to the services you expect or use. We were told to by double the amount of tutoring we used and they have stated they will only return to us 15% of the unused hours. This place is a scam. You will find better tutors elsewhere without this kind of cost and up selling.
C2 education is a joke of a program. When I needed help studying for the SAT, we reached out to C2 to learn more about the tutoring programs and cost. I had gotten a low score on my SAT, and the manager of C2 immediately shot down my plans of going to the University of Illinois and said I should go to a small school like Lake Forest College. She said that without their help, I won’t get in to the school of my choice. She continued on to tell us that the tutoring program will cost $11,000 and that I needed a 1500 to get into UIUC for biology. I can happily say, that I will be attended UIUC for the major of my choice without their help. I was a well rounded student, and the SAT did not influence my admission decision the way C2 said it would. I applied with a 1140, and got in.
Save your money and use other resources for SAT prep like Khan Academy etc. Never let this corrupt company tell you that you can’t get in to the college of your choice. They want to scare you enough so you buy into their ridiculous company.
Scam scam scam- con artists that stoled $2,000 from us. We signed a contract and paid thousands of dollars, but then covid hit and they closed all the locations for months. We called one hundred times during that time of the pandemic to see if we could use our hours remotely. No one ever returned our calls. Then the location we went to in Roswell closed permanently. For months we asked for our money back and wouldn’t hear from anyone. After persisting with more calls- they informed us our contract had expired. How is this legal? They were closed and not able to render services and our contract expires. Crooked-bad dishonorable people at C2. I am a retired teacher w a Masters in Teaching English. Teaching was awful- my daughters literally slept through it, bc the tutor was working with other students and they would wait to get their work reviewed. This system is bad- and they used the pandemic as a way to take our money without providing services. Shame on C2! Con-artists- don’t be scammed by this business!
Business model built on pre-paid hours of training rather than results driven.
Management cannot communicate to parents as many are just reading scripts.
Daughter learned how to take test under the gun, not much else.
With my personal experience in C2 Education, I found that the SAT prep that was offered was not worth the money at all. When I say this, I don't mean that the SAT prep classes are useless as a whole. The prep books that they give for Math and English are good to use in order to prepare. However, these classes are not worth thousands of dollars in the slightest. In my tutoring sessions, all we did was solve problems and then correct them. I would get assigned homework and then correct it the next day. Rinse and repeat. There was no personalization, nothing really stuck with me. The kind of work we did could have been done through self-study. Although the tutors themselves were nice and helpful to an extent, they were usually tutoring other kids in the same session, meaning the tutoring sessions weren't one on one. Overall, C2 Education is extremely overpriced for a mediocre tutoring service. Wouldn't recommend.
The questions were nothing like the SAT, and the teachers didn't really teach any strategies or concepts. It was basically a daycare where you drop your child off and they work on a single SAT topic for the entire 2 hours. The tutors played no role other than checking the answers, and were often just as lost as the student in some questions. An answer key could easily replace the tutor and there wouldn't be a difference. The 2 hours had no variety in terms of questions or topics, and the homework had 0 variety as well, which isn't accurate to the SAT at all. There was not much ground covered in the classes taken. Completely useless, and I recommend you save your money for better textbooks and online courses. Would give it less than 1 star if I could.
I have been mislead . Basically in a nutshell my daughter was supposed to have three complementary sessions that’s what I was verbally told. She had nine sessions in total they only refunded me 1200 which means nine sessions six accountable we paid $3200. it is pretty pricey for six sessions. Took six months to return my phone call. I would save your money do not get involved with this company.
Everyone there is very friendly and helpful. The tutors have a lot of patience and are super creative.
One of the worst places to enroll your kid into. They are focused more on how to have their customers sign up for more hours after the initial sign up with them. They are not flexible at all. On long weekends they have classes and expects parents to reach out to them for canceling it. Also tutors changes for kids without notification to the kid and the parent. Simply ridiculous way of functioning. I wouldn't recommend C2 to anyone. I think there are better options out there.
Definitely not worth it. You can find practice tests for much less than this, if not free. Also, the "teachers" cannot properly communicate assignments, lessons, etc. I'm sure you could do better on your own. It's a waste of time and money.
Despite COVID and the mess that was created with this pandemic, C2 continued to provide a very substantial education and tutoring to our daughter. In fact, the one-on-one attention she receives is fantastic.
I would recommend C2 education to anyone who is serious, I mean serious about their kid's education and future.
In light of COVID, my child has not been able to attend C2 for a year. Also, they make it seem that your child will get one-on-one attention, but in reality, they have several kids in one room to one student (pre-Covid). Now they are forced with 2 students per tutor until the pandemic measures are lifted.
However, my child no longer feels comfortable and safe to be tutored indoors and already has so much screen time from virtual classes. I requested for a refund of the remainder of hours at its discounted price. Because I purchased the 500 hours years ago, C2 said I can’t get a refund for the remaining 260 unused hours. During these trying times and CARES Act’s Relief Programs, I would have hoped that C2 would have allowed for cancellations of services/contracts and accommodate families who are practicing shelter-in-place. But no; they won’t offer refunds and they hope that my kid in high school will use all these hours before college. What a joke as it’s highly likely. Kids don’t have vaccination yet. SAT prep will also be nonexistent soon as colleges will no longer require them for admission.

Our daughter Anna started C2 in 2020. We couldn’t be happier with her experience and results thus far!
As an 8th Grader, C2 has really helped Anna get a jump start on College Prep. The program center director Sunita Rega Kathiravelu has been a tremendous help and asset in getting Anna placed and providing regular (virtual) face to face reviews to get real time feedback on what can be improved in the student experience as well as provide our daughter with feedback from her tutors. C2 provides our daughter with a flexible approach to college prep and tutoring with great teachers who are providing solid support and learning environment in applying the principles of her subject matter, not the answers. This approach is helping Anna develop and sustain a focus on the ‘how’ to solve problems vs helping practice to get right answers. We are very pleased with C2, will continue for sure, and would recommend it without reservation.
James & Nicole - Anna’s Parents
I loved my experience at C2, I made so many friends and the tutors were not only helpful with education, but they were helpful with empowering me to do my best and to be the best. I'd like to give a personal shout out to Bill, Graciela, and Matthew who work at the C2 Education on Cupertino because they were honestly the best. Not only did they help me significantly increase my SAT score, but they helped me with college essays, school work, understanding concepts I didn't really get, etc. They were amazing people to be around and they are not only well-educated, but they are all so kind and talented as well. I was always so excited to go to my classes at C2, and they were always happy to teach me and just be awesome in general. I am so grateful for the experiences that C2 had given me, and I would definitely recommend them.
Terrible.
The online classes are god-awful. The teachers will come in, explain a few things, and go to work with the other students that they are teaching simultaneously for more than half of the time you're there for.
C2 Education tutors are average or below average and their service is not worth of the money they charge. You can find much better tutors at lower price at other tutoring services e.g. Wyzant. Also, do not sign a contract if you are not sure how long you will need a below average tutoring. Their refund policy sucks. They false promise and do not keep their promise if you have any hours left from any old contract. Beware!!
The C2 in Olney did not yield favorable results. The conditions for testing do not closely replicate the actual SAT. I think timed practice test would help more. Dont waste your money.
the classes were really informational and I felt like I truly learned a lot! also absolutely loved the instructor, made the class 100 times better!
This is what I think about C2, from a GPA management standpoint to an SAT Prep center.
GPA Management/ School Help
This is where C2 shines. They have science, history, English, and other tutors to help you succeed in any class. For English, I usually get my English tutors to be my editor and is honestly a life saver. As a person who wants to major in chemistry and go into med school, having a chemistry tutor with a Ph.D. degree in chemistry is honestly amazing, he explains concepts better than the teacher. My only complaint here is when they first made you start, the interview I feel like they tell you that you won't be able to get into the top 100 colleges unless you have a 3.7+ GPA which in reality is more like 3.4+. But besides that, I loved my counselor, Maris, and she was very supportive.
SAT Prep
I'm going, to be honest, it's definitely not 10/10 amazing, but after being in 4 other SAT Prep centers, I can easily say this is one of the top 2, if not the best SAT Prep center yet. Here you are in control, you can do which book you want, which days you want, so it gives you the power to do what you think will further improve your studies. This is one of the benefits I see from C2 than lets say Crimson Review and Y2. Those 2, are incredibly strict, they think you should do it their way and only their way, which in reality is incorrect as we are all different. C2 allows you to experiment with methods of SAT test-taking which in my opinion is very important. The only downside to this is it is expensive coming out at almost 70 dollars an hour.
Great teachers that are very patient and can help with studying. They have helped me a lot in preparing for the SAT.
