Unhelpful website
I was defrauded by one of CAIXA's customers, but their website is designed to not allow any e mailable contact unless you are a customer of them.
Absolute hell
Absolute hell - got blocked my own account automatically for no reason. They got the worst app in whole universe. Please avoid this bank at all costs!
Too Slow. Too backward.
Thieves stole from my account multiple times over the weekend. I noticed. I told the bank. I reported it to the police. it took caixa SIX WEEKS to return my money. the thieves were "apple.com" - yes, its a real example!! Everyone knows. Only caixa allows them to continue. Absolute joke of a bank!
APPALLING BANK, DISGUSTING CUSTOMER SERVICES
Like many others giving 1* is being generous.
Appalling customer services. Without advance notice Caixa suddenly prevented access to my account. Subsequently I tried Forgot Password as route back in. Caixa rejected,
I sent email to advise access barred and received reply "there is a message for you in your digital banking platform". I emailed back questioning the wisdom of such a reply and received the same response yet again and again after my 3rd notification that I cannot access my account. Resolved 5 months later.
Now, 4 years later, I have tried 18 times to upload new passport to account through the route instructed. "When we have validated the document we will contact you further". But they do not. The branch merely suggests follow the action already attempted in the full knowledge that nothing will happen
Don't ever forget your password
Used the online banking app successfully for 5+ years until it asked for my signature pin. I had forgotten it. Used online password reset. Asked for a TIN, which as expat I did not have. Customer service repeatedly tried to reset this over 4 agents and 8 days. Still unable to access my account via app. Several online/video meetings arranged but missed. Poorly trained contact centre agents and 'digital managers'. Variable English language competency, despite selecting English language from telephone menu. Different names used across Caixa forms, the English language internet site, and SMS messages. Very poor service from this bank.
Impossible to transfer Euros
It is impossible to transfer Euros from my Spanish Caixabank account to my HSBC UK bank account. I complete all the fields required and even if the amount is below 10000€, when I get to the last page a 'sorry try again' message keeps poping up.
They make everything really difficult to give you freedom to manage your money.
I have sent a message to the customer service to request help.
It's frustrating, even more because I know how easy this transaction is with other banks. For example, when I use my HSBC UK Global Money account to convert £ into € and I transfer those euros into Caixabank, is everything so easy and smooth.
The opposite, Caixabank to HSBC, impossible.

Thieves
Thieves! CAIXABANK reversed my domain name purchase of ia.bot and then someone bought the domain name i was buying within a week and i had no notice of the purchase reversal. Pedro Sanchez is a petty Israeli con man, Spain is broke and very very corrupt, you can buy eu visas for 500 euros, what a European DISGRACE!

Another addendum !
Another addendum !
Received a phone call from my branch of La Caixa asking about my complaint.
I have been assured that the level of customer service I received would not happen again to any customer, and being given the phone number of the person who works in that bank, I feel more confident.
We shall see !!

I'm beyond frustrated with this bank
I'm beyond frustrated with this bank. While traveling in Spain recently, our card was blocked every single day. We were left unable to use our money "at all" which caused a massive amount of stress during what was supposed to be a vocation. This bank clealy doesn't care about it's customers. If you need a bank that actually works when travel, look elsewhere. I do not recommend it to any one.

An emergency call to report an undue charge was never answered. None of the two emergency numbers answered after a 40 minute waiting time to each
I definitely will change my bank card.

I had a bad experience Monday in Madrid Calle Mayor Branch
I had a bad experience Monday in one of your branches in Madrid, Calle Mayor 16 Branch. I went there to deposit more money in my account and to find out from an employ how to make savings. I wait a person to release and talk to me, a few minutes after a thin, tall guy appears and ask us what we want. We explained him that we wand to make some deposit, and to open a savings account. He explained us that he is very busy , we have to prove our money source, he has to go to a meeting and left in hurry. After few more minutes, when the person that welcomed us, saw that we become angry she called this other guy boss. She was also very busy, she could not speak with us. She told us that she will send us an email with some products, and an hour of her schedule, when we can meet in the bank (we are still waiting). After few hours we've been to Mrs. Gomez in Madrid La Latina Brach that solved our issue. we returned in Calle Mayor and asked the boss (lady) what is the name of her colleague. she pretended that she doesn't understand. that was my very bad Caixa Bank in Madrid. Unprofessional those from Calle Mayor!!!!

CaixaBank is the BEST IN TOWN
CaixaBank is the BEST IN TOWN, we bought our house in Palamos with Maria José, she is very good, competent and polite. She even went to the notary office with us the day we went to sign, we love her a lot. From Palamos office, she helped my sister in law buy her apartment in TERRASSA BARCELONA. I had refund problems with booking, Aliexpress CaixaBank gave swift solution.

Thieves they are...
Amazing! Just absolute thieves. Tried using their ATM with a Danish debit card. Caixa decided they wanted a margin of 11,53% for exchanging DKK to EUR. Obviously I did not go through with the transaction, which also had an extra 3,25 EUR as "price of the service" (which can be said to be fair enough). I went 100 meters down the road and tried the ATM at ING. ING did NOT ask for ANYTHING AT ALL! Only fee for me was the 0,5% exchange fee that my Danish bank put on, which I was well aware of would come on.

⭐ 1 star
⭐ 1 star – Refund only resolved after I did the bank’s job for them
I have had an extremely frustrating experience with CaixaBank over a missing Amazon refund.
Amazon issued the refund correctly and provided clear confirmation, including the ARN (refund reference), showing that the refund had been authorised and accepted by CaixaBank. Despite this, CaixaBank repeatedly failed to locate the refund and showed no real interest in resolving the issue.
I was incorrectly advised to raise a chargeback — even though this was a refund, not a disputed transaction, and the transaction was over a year old, making a chargeback impossible. This showed a complete lack of understanding of their own processes.
After weeks of chasing, no meaningful communication, and no proactive investigation from CaixaBank, I was forced to:
Contact Amazon myself to obtain the ARN
Escalate internally with no useful response
File a formal external complaint to Banco de España, at my own cost (€8 postage)
Only after this escalation did the refund suddenly appear in my account — with no apology, no explanation, and no offer to reimburse the costs I incurred due to their negligence.
Had I not contacted Amazon and escalated externally, I am confident this refund would never have been resolved.
Very poor customer service, no accountability, and no respect for the customer’s time. I would not recommend CaixaBank based on this experience.

Dreadful non service
A waste water pipe cracked under our kitchen floor. So we can't empty water down the sink or use our washing machine. A plumber came, knocked a hole in the wall and said the insurance would in in touch. That was 3 December 2025. Ive made painfully long weekly calls. It's now 10 February.....and I'm still waiting. Absolutely dreadful.

I would give 0/5 if I could
I would give 0/5 if I could, after an awful experience going through a mortgage process with Caixa.
From taking 3 months to get a simple mortgage illustration, to being charged nearly 700€ for a mortgage valuation, despite it never being completed.
We were constantly being told that mortgage applications were so high, yet staffing had not increased which isn’t a great excuse when handling people’s life matters. Please avoid Caixa if you can.
