The cake tasted stale the frosting used for the layers wasn't smooth had a weird almost sandy texture. My family has ordered from cakes & bakes at least 5 times a year for the last 3 or 4 years. This cake was unlike the rest won't be ordering again

MY EXPERIENCE WITH CAKES AND BAKES WAS A BIT OF JOURNEY.

SOME GLITCHES ON THE WAY.

HOWEVER I WAS A SATISFIED CUSTOMER WHO WAS GIVEN A UNIQUE HIGH LEVEL OF CUSTOMER SERVICE PROVIDED BY THE MANAGER TARUN.

HE IS A GREAT PERSON NOT JUST A MANAGER WHO IS HONEST AND CARING AND PUTS HIS CUSTOMERS FIRST.

I HAVE NEVER HAD THIS KIND OF UNIQUE EXPERIENCE.

I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND C&B.

I recently joined the Cakes and Bakes VIP membership, and at first I couldn’t place an order for cake delivery because of a technical issue. I emailed customer support, and Tarun from the operations team quickly got in touch, sorted out the problem, and was really helpful throughout. Thanks to him, the cake was delivered before 3 p.m. on the same day.
I really appreciated the quick response and the effort he put in to make sure everything was taken care of smoothly. It was a great experience overall, and it definitely made me feel confident about being a VIP member.

As published by Cakes & Bakes, the VIP members have free delivery for one year within M25 plus it offers 25% discount during Christmas and New Year for VIP members. I purchased the VIP membership and when tried to place order for a cake to be delivered on 31st December in Barnet (within M25), not only it didn't apply 25% discount but also it added £12.99 of delivery charges.

I called 5 times on their given landline and mobile during their opening hours but no one answered the phone. At last I send them emails with all screenshots and asking them to cancel my membership.

What a sham and a waste of time!

Further update:
I was contacted by the company through WhatsApp and the associate suggested to fix it manually at their end, but seems they fail the basic skills. The associate was applying 15% on the price which was already discounted by 10 and their argument was 10+15% makes it 25% while I tried to explain the 25% should be applied on full price, but all my efforts went in vein. Cancelling my VIP membership rather than wasting any more time further with this company.

Cake was good but communication not at all great. I ordered online and collection time was from 3pm only so I emailed at the email address found in website to request if I can collect early. They replied that I can collect from 12pm onwards. On the day when I went to collect they had no idea about the changes and said that it'll be ready from 3.30only. somehow I could get them ready by 1.30 because it was their mistake.

The cake was very tasty and soft and we could feel the freshness in it . Our guest were very much impressed with the cake and Thankyou for the wonderful cake .

Really nice easy service, delivery was great and the cake was delicious, however there was way too much butter cream on the outside of the cake it was a very thickkk layer of cream but apart from that the cake was nice

I am extremely disappointed with my experience. The cake was delivered far earlier than the agreed time, making it unusable for the birthday it was ordered for. As a result, the cake was never used or consumed and is still in my possession.

What has made this situation worse is the company’s response afterward. Instead of acknowledging the delivery error, I received long, generic replies thanking me for feedback and referring to “collection and consumption,” which simply did not happen. The responses felt templated and avoided addressing the actual issue.

I have had to repeatedly explain the same facts, wasting unnecessary time, with no clear resolution offered. A simple acknowledgment of the mistake and a practical solution would have resolved this quickly, but that has not happened.

Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this company. Poor communication and failure to address a straightforward problem turned what should have been a simple birthday order into a very frustrating experience.

Ordered a lemon cheesecake at the Ilford branch for a birthday party. The cake didn’t look as good as the photo eg. No lemon slices, the decoration is more simple and looked different. Taste was not amazing even for lemon cheesecake lovers. The packaging could look better too. Though the cake is taller than expected

There was no communication to confirm my order had been received. There was no confirmation of a delivery time, I had to contact customer service via Whatsapp and even they were abrupt even though I was so polite considering the lack of comms.
My cake arrived touched on the side walls of the box. It was leaking everywhere on arrival and it didn't taste like mango at all! I won't order from here ever again!

Very fantasic cream cake which i brought for mothersday and my fathers birthday all family members said what a fantasic light delicious flavoured cake i asked for mango and passionfruit filling thankyou so very much

My cake came very late
They didnt respond to my messages after receiving the order and taking the money
Didnt give me any information about the delivery time and track so they needed just to take the money and no care about the rest of the service

This cake was made for my BIL 60th birthday .
It was excellent in every way .
It tasted amazing and we had lots of leftovers to share with the family .
Excellent value too .

Cake arrived so late (party was over) even though i paid so much for it to be delivered at a specific time. Cake did not have the right writing on it as i had requested. Made a complaint and was told i should have taken the cake back within 2 hours of delivery. Got given a 10% discount on future order like i would ever order again…

If you are planning for a party , please please don't believe These people , they will ruin your party

My cake arrived very late party was literally over and cake looked terrible. I ordered a plain vintage cake with black bows, but the writing was nothing like what I requested. The lettering was done in a bright pink color, which completely clashed with the black bows. Overall, the cake looked bad and the whole experience was disappointing.

Really nice cake, they delivered it later in the timeslot allocated as requested, which was very nice of them to try and accommodate. I also ordered balloons, they were a great size and came with the cake.

Cake was delicious, egg free, a lot of fresh cream in the cake. I think the layer of fresh cream on the outside was a bit much.

I would have appreciated if the balloons came with weights, or make it clear there is no weights provided in the delivery.

I am want to start by saying that every year my son orders two different birthday cakes to celebrate with family and another for friends. We used two different companies including cakes and bakes and honestly without being disrespectful or mentioning the other company ,cakes and bakes was by far not only amazing in the presentation of the cake we chose ( lotus biscoff tower cake ) but the taste was phenomenal. To just prove this. I took the left over cake as it was really huge into my work place and every single person asked me for this company’s contact details. The cake was worth every penny and having always bought extravagant cakes from different companies over the years , I highly recommend this place! Not to mention that their delivery was on time and in perfect condition when it arrived with all the allergen advice.

I pick a small cake without asking me he put pink sprinkles on it when I saw it I told him why would you add pink without asking me
He then added rainbow colours sprinkle on it it now looked like a child’s cake
He quickly started packing it I said no it for a 60 year old man
He then said to me ow what is a difference between a kids cake and adult I said big difference
I then said I want my money back he said no not possible I remove the icing
He was so rude
Finally I got the cake after 25mins
