California Exodus Moving and Storage 

Choosing this company to move from LA to NM was one of the worse decisions I ever made. I was lied to by the salesperson. He told me my things would be the only things on the truck and arrive in 10 biz days. My thing arrived damaged, on a semi, almost a month after they were picked up. Every large piece of furniture was damaged or broken despite being wrapped. Boxes were missing and repacked. I had items stolen including jewelry, underwear, and change. Everything was dirty and scuffed. They took every piece of furniture I had apart and promised to put it back together "in the same condition it was picked up in" except the 2 guys they sent to unload my things weren't told they had to bring tools so I had to reassemble all of my furniture myself. They broke my less-than-one-year-old Peloton bike because they took it apart. There was probably about 5k worth of damage. I submitted a claim just a few weeks after everything was delivered. That was in January. It's now August and I have not gotten a response or even an update on my claim. There is zero communication from this company and at this point, it feels like all they care about is the cash and not their customers.

Warning! Do not use this awful moving company. They robbed and broke many of our personal belongings. They charged us more the day of moving only to have those additional items stolen. They never got delivered. They have completely ignored my phone calls and emails trying to get an answer of where they went and who stole them. Someone actually went through my boxes and stole many of my personal items. I filed a claim with them but of course they won't respond. Many other customers have been scammed and robbed by this awful and corrupt company. They take full advantage of people moving. Tell everyone you know to never use this company.

Hands-down, the worst Moving Company. I’ve moved across the country numerous times, and I’ve never had such a bad experience. When they arrived, they raise the price significantly even though I had sent them a full tabulated estimate from another moving company with all the details. Then they delivered all the goods incredibly late, and then denied that they made any promises on dates, even though I had it in writing. a lot of our stuff arrived damaged. They took over six months to review the claim longer than the contracted period. And now, they have failed to pay out the claim, and are no longer returning my calls. If they come up in your search, find someone else. If they seem like the lowest price, know that they will raise it on you.

This was our first time using a moving company and for the most part, it was great. A little learning curve for us, so we experienced a little inconvenience, but all in all, as contracted and on time, true to their word. We would hire them again.

When I and my father first started to gather quotes regarding my move for college, it was a bit overwhelming. Call after call, it seemed to leave me and him in a fog and spin. Company after company looking to bash the next, it was quite despicable. I took a call with Steve at Cali Exodus after exchanging a text or two. We set a time to speak. Let me tell ya, he was much more thorough than others and he listened. He wasn’t talking over me as so many others tended to do. He also never bashed another, we only discussed what they had to offer. We’re definitely glad we went with Cali Exodus. From start to finish thanks again.

This company could be great if they just had communication and customer service skills.

Based on my experience, for each phase of moving, I would give them:
5 stars for their excellence in communication at the contract stage;
5 stars in their thoroughness in packing all my belongs so carefully;
but then…. after they picked everything up, they went silent for 10 days with no communication on what the plan was. This stage, I would give zero stars. You will have NO point person who will text you or email you with an update on when your items will depart their warehouse (only after I filed a complaint with BBB did I suddenly get communication of a point person). I was told 21 days is the max for the furthest distance from west to east coast. I get that. But one would think that the 21 days is “moving time”/ “travel time” not, “we will store your items for 21 days and then ship it when we feel like it- to which we will give you no updates along the way”.

If they were better at communication, they would win at all phases of the pick up process.

Departure- shockingly, when they finally decided to leave California, they departed Monday and got to the east coast by Wednesday. I would give them 5 stars for their super speed.

Delivery day- The truck driver experience dropped all my 5 star experiences down to maybe 2 overall now. He ruined it all for me. I received a phone call from the driver 24 hours out that they would arrive between 9-10am the following day. At 10:15 I called the driver and woke him up. He has zero customer service skills and was not friendly at all. At 1130am he arrived with his attitude stating he couldn’t get the truck closer - to which he had 2 closer options. I walked them with him and he was very frustrated that it was closer. I learned that the driver gets to keep the $75 “long carry” fee money so they naturally try real hard to not park close. The driver CLEARLY does not understand that he represents the company. He was on the defense as soon as he arrived, irritable, treats you like you are a complete waste of his time. He made the whole experience unprofessional and sealed the deal that I will never work with this company again.

I would give 4 stars for all my belongings arriving. I was pleased that most everything arrived (as I read horror stories of things missing). We were only missing a 6’ ladder and step ladder and cleaning tools. And only 2 boxes had broken items.

If they had communication throughout all phases of the delivery process and a driver who had kind human being customer service skills, this would be a rock star company. Sadly it was a lot of ups and downs with unsettling and unprofessional moments.

After checking on prices of renting a Uhaul truck and with gas prices, lodging, food ect I gave California Exodus a call and am so glad I did, cause driving from California to North Carolina was not going to be cheap, all I can say is great job guys and if I ever need to do this again, bet your bottom dollar, I'll be calling you guys again. Couldn't be any happier with my decision. Thanks again

I moved from CA to IN for a work and after getting several quotes California exodus stood out the most with fair pricing , good reviews and the most helpful moving coordinators . They didn’t let me down. The price was $4200 and everything went as planned.

From the moment you start searching for a moving company, the companies begin to seek you out as if a pack of wolves is looking for their dinner! Don't get me wrong, most of them are solid companies and the salespeople are nice. If they're not, feel free to hang up! But I did learn a few things along the way. Be sure to ask for estimates of square footage that is yours to use when they move your things. That can make a huge difference. Jason at California Exodus was quite clear about the estimated cost and the exact square footage that my dollars would buy. Another company gave a lower estimate but I soon realized the square footage was way less. Be sure you get exact quotes and exact square footage that will be available to you. I was amazed, with the price of gasoline, that Cali Exodus offered such a fair price. Thank you, Jason!

My wife and I retired to Florida and hired California Exodus to move our belongings. We have many treasured items we’ve collected over the years and they took great care with them . The price did go up a bit but we had more boxes than expected once we finished packing. Shareen explained everything to us and was quick to respond back with any information requested . Thanks

California exodus moved our 2 bedroom home from California to Texas. We changed our dates twice due to some issues with the selling of our home and they were able to accommodate us free of charge .

They moved us from California to Arkansas in July 2022 . Jason was our moving coordinator. He was very helpful and kept in contact with us . We paid $8500 for our 3 bedroom home with a full pack . It took 12 days for our things to get delivered . Every thing went seamlessly. Thanks again guys !

The move went to plan from CA to MS. Especially with the horror stories you hear.Though I can say not on Chris’s watch. He kept communication with I and my wife Elaine the entire move. Dave and the crew really took charge wrapping and packing the day of. Truly impressed.

Everyone from Jason, Abe, David, Ali and Kareem and helpers were great. They all went out of their way to help make my move more bearable and tried to make it less stressful. I would recommend them to anyone. I would use them again. Kudos to all of them. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️" I had an additional truck today to pick up the last of my furnishings and my daughter's. David, Ali and Kareem were awesome. They had a first job in Stockton and didn't get to my house until after 6pm. They were very fast, friendly and efficient. They completed my job very quickly and were extremely nice, courteous, and worked quickly. Everyone has been extremely awesome. I would recommend them to anyone. I would hire them again. 5 stars isn't enough to me.

This company is a scam. I would not recommend this company to anyone looking to move short or long distances. They overcharge, have poor communication, damaged lots of our belongings, and took forever to deliver. They also refused to process our claim so we got nothing back.

I would not use Cali Exodus Storage. The price was the only thing I was happy with. We moved from California to Arkansas (2000 miles).

I was assured by Greg that they don't use contractors and on the pickup and delivery, various men showed up to move the items and it was obvious that they were not employees. In fact, the gentlemen told me today (the delivery) that he works for a temp agency.

When they picked up the furniture, one of the gentlemen scraped the wall and then told me that it was like that when he got there. I told him, no it wasn’t. He mentioned that if he did do it, there would be white chips of paint on the floor. We both looked down at that point, and yep, white paint chips were on the carpet. He didn’t say anything after that. I do admit they did a great job wrapping the furniture.
There was no communications at all unless I contacted them. And I would just get generic responses to my inquires via text.
When we finally recieved our furniture (it took 32 business days - 6 weeks) there were some damaged and missing items. My recliner that I had custom made was missing, the legs for my dresser and the bolts for my bed and tv (and speaking of my tv, it has a 3 inch crack in the screen now). My dining room table has a huge gouge in it about a foot long. My dresser had two knobs broken off.
The man in charge of the delivery had two temps with him. They unwrapped everything and did put the furniture where I asked. When it came time for clean up, they had no bags to put the massive amounts of wrapping materials anywhere. To get it out of the house, they put it in our box truck with the promise to come back later to pick it up. 4 days later, it is still there.
I would file a claim but it's not worth my time. I just hope that no one else uses this company. I rarely leave reviews, but I thought this should be told.
