California Safe Driver was founded on a simple belief: better choices create better drivers, and better drivers create safer communities. We provide interactive and meaningful National Safety Council defensive driving courses for individuals referred by courts, probation departments, law enforcement agencies, employers, and other organizations throughout California. Our courses go beyond reviewing traffic laws. Using principles informed by cognitive behavioral therapy, we help students better understand what drives their attitudes, decisions, and behaviors behind the wheel. Students are encouraged to think about how emotions, distractions, peer pressure, overconfidence, and split-second choices can affect not only themselves, but also their families, friends, passengers, and the greater community. Our classes are designed to be respectful, engaging, and practical. Through discussion, real-world examples, and active participation, students have an opportunity to reflect on past decisions and identify safer, more responsible choices for the future. Our instructors are trained and certified by the National Safety Council and bring professional law enforcement experience, practical knowledge, and a commitment to treating every student with dignity and respect.
