Callout mate  

Needed a gas engineer in an emergency. They came within a few hours. Engineer was polite & caring in get my heating up & running again. So gald I found this firm thank you.

Phoned for a electrician to sort out no light in one room , was told would arrive in 2 hours around 1600 , 1600 came phoned and told they were busy they would be with me , 1700 came I phoned again and got told the same , phoned at 1800 . They were closed , at around 1820 got a phone call back from the electrician telling me he wasn't attending as it was 40 mins away and they hadn't given him fuel money . Also he told me his charge was 75 however I paid 230 , I phone up this morning and they agreed to refund 100 of my 230 ... Awful service

Phoned and got a call back in minutes. After explaining situation everything was put in place and after paying an electrician was with us later in the afternoon. Everything fixed and back to normal.

If there was a zero star option I would certainly choose it. Called for an emergency boiler repair on the Saturday morning and was informed someone would be there for 4pm. Then Callout mate called back and did the whole "vans broken down" trick and said they would call us back Monday. No phone calls. Tried to call the telephone on website it does not work!! Left multiple messages on the website form to no avail. As they took the money on Saturday we couldn't rebook with someone else so had to turn to the bank to get the funds back, which luckily they managed to do. Absolute con artists. Do not use this company, how they are allowed to trade is beyond me!!

Called this company yesterday, to look at my boiler, they charged me over £200 call-out fee. Never arrived! They are totally untrustworthy!!!!

After calling these guys to book a heating engineer at 3pm today I was advised someone could be here this evening. As my boiler wasn’t working and getting colder I paid the £189.99 + vat. As the night went on I called them back to ask when I could expect the engineer, and who to expect and was told who it was and to expect them between 7/7.30. The engineer did arrive at 7.30, was really courteous and fixed my problem. Cozy house now. No other additional costs involved (bonus) .

Really disappointed, they charged ne £230 for call out on my boiler, I do understand that you have to be professional, have a knowledge abd so and so, you aren't paying for the time but the " experience "
But to come to my house, spend 15 minutes to mend a wire and not fixing the problem, and asking for more £140 to change the " wire"?
My radiator now won't turn off, was fine until " the wire " come loose, now wanting more £90 just to turn the way that was before?
What planet do you guys live?
I'm no stupid, think about what those kind of " professionals " do to the elderly people.

Excellent workmanship, fast, reliable and reasonably priced for a emergency callout , the calloutmate plumber was friendly quick and tidy replacing my broken shower would definitely recommend them to anyone who wants a plumber. I will be recommending and using these guys in the future for any other plumbing jobs.

Absolutely appalling services. Charged my elderly grandparents over £200 for an emergency toilet blockage and never turned up, now they refuse to answer the phone. Avoid like the plague. Will be taking this further.

Absolutely fantastic service. Cannot recommend enough. Immediately dealt with, plumber arrived as expected and completed the job there and then. Would use again without hesitation

Absolutely wonderful service. Ok money up front but what do you expect on a Saturday evening. Plumber Phil, as far as I remember name. He was very good, experienced, and very pleasant to boot, knew exactly what he was doing, sussed everything out and repaired toilet quite quickly.

Did the job. Worth it but expensive for what was needed in the end.

Came out promptly to fix blocked toilet. Work done quickly and efficiently. Couldn't have done more. I would certainly usenthem again. Highly recommended.

This is definitely a major scam. They sent me a emergency plumber. A young lad turned up and made the problem worse. The sent a senior guy out after the weekend. He made the problem so bad that I now have the water cut off. He suggested that I call an emergency plumber! Dont brush off the bad reviews this is just a money making scheme sending anybody who can roughly hold a wrench

Just had call callout mate send someone to unblock our drains.
They said they would be with us within 2 hours. They were here sooner. The job took half an hour and all was fixed. Cannot praise them highly enough. I cannot actually believe how easy it was. Excellent service thanks so much. Would definitely use them again !!!

I called them out yesterday and they ripped me of 187.00 paid by credit card have the proof of payment waited all day for plumber to arrive rang up to see we’re they where now they tell me no record of payment or appointment please please please who ever reads this be carful it’s a fake company do not use them it’s a complete con thank god the credit company have raised the issue and I’m protected but I want to warn everyone out there please take this review as extremely serious don’t want this to happen to anyone else..

The positive reviews about this company maybe genuine but that wasn't our experience and the way we've been treated has every appearance of a scam. We called them needing an emergency plumber on Saturday evening. They took payment upfront, telling us it was £189 before charging £229 to our card once we'd hung up. They didn't organise anyone that evening, despite saying they had engineers in the area, and called us to say they would organise something for first thing the following morning. They didn't do that either and after not hearing from them by mid-morning, and chasing them twice, we told them we wanted to cancel and asked for our money back as they had not delivered what they said they would. They have bizarrely refunded £30 after several more phone calls and fobbing us off with well worn excuses (the accounts team don't work weekends; we're only an overflow team and can't do refunds - managed to take payment OK though; we'll get someone to call you back in an hour - no you won't), but we've no idea why they think it's OK to keep £200 of our money for essentially doing nothing, and most certainly not arranging an emergency plumber. We will be taking whatever steps we can to get the rest of our money back and wholeheartedly advise you to steer clear of this company. Find a local plumber, for half the price, who will take payment when the job is done.

We needed a plumber urgently, for my elderly mother's flat, as she only had one toilet, and it was out of action. The plumber came within the hour. He was polite, efficient and explained what he was doing, and took time to answer all my questions really clearly.
I highly recommend this service, very happy l round. 😊

I called them because i had a late night problem with drainage and a leaking toilet. they told me they would get somebody out within the next two hours. i received a call later in the evening to say nobody would be coming because of the time and was asked to call back the next day.

I called back the next day straight after their advertised opening hours and since it was past the point of needing an emergency out of hours contact i cancelled the callout (and called a local tradesman who came out to resolve the issue). When discussing refunding the fee which was paid upfront, i was told i could only be offered part of the fee as they intended to retain a "booking fee". the booking fee to cover the two or three 2 minutes phone calls was £100!! At no point when i organised the call out was i told about this booking fee - i would not have gone with them if i had been told.

I am still chasing the refund at this point having not received any of it.

I would never use this company again and would strongly recommend against it. charging up front was something i could live with but a non-refundable fee that they don't make you aware of at the point of purchase is very possibly criminal.
