Hello everyone, I want to share a review, as a former employee of this company, to all who want to hire. Better not hire, because your things will disappear and your furniture will be damaged.
I had a terrible experience with this company. On the day of packing, they attempted to increase the price fourfold, citing triple the estimated time and bringing an additional worker whom they insisted I pay for. As someone experienced in moving and estimating costs, I was shocked to find the final quote for a one-bedroom, one-bathroom house to be over four times the initial estimate. This level of customer service is unacceptable, and I strongly advise against using this company for any services. This was an awful experience that I hope no one has to go through that reads this review.
Mortified at this point. Ive given this company over 2k so far and just found out that my things are still in California? They dont have a driver to go to Florida????? I was told 10 to 14 business days. Not 30 days. Calling is of no use. Trying to get your sales rep is worthless. They answer but are apparently afraid to say hello????? So you have no idea if youve connected. This is awful. So now im in Florida thinking my things will be here at the latest by early next week and that is so not the case. I am livid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
On Wednesday, August 10, 2021, I received a confirmation email from C.S.I., informing me that my case has been received and that I am #563 in the cue. It’s going to be a minute before C.S.I. gets to my claim, which is why I am putting this out there so that I have something happening while I wait.
What started out as a simple plan, i.e. hire a mover to move my stuff, turned into a colossal s*!@ storm. Right out the gate I was lied to by Steve Whipple of Moving Squad & Storage. Then I was forced to pay more money for the extra cubic feet, which I didn’t have and didn’t need. Then I got an email from CalState telling me that my items were loaded and due to ship out soon, which was a lie. Then I find out from a Detective from LAPD that because CalState still had my items, that there’s no theft; hence no crime. Then the owner from Hermes Moving & Storage calls me and asks for two more weeks. The only reason why he called me was because he had just spoken to a Detective. So he needed to make contact with me before it went from bad to worse. Then I got a call a week later informing me that my items would be there on either a Monday or a Tuesday
of the following week. Then I got a call from the driver very late the night before delivery, informing me that he’s two days early, which doesn’t work for me because I’m working. Then his boss gets on the line and tells me that if I’m not there to receive the items that they will be shipped to New Jersey. So I was forced to put together a plan that included getting a storage unit and having my brother-in-law help me. And now that my items are
in said storage space, I now have to pay an additional $250.00 to get my items from storage to my apartment, which is what I had already paid for in the beginning.
