Good product but customer service is horrible

The bottle is great but it's been almost a month they they can't reply to my simple question via email and the lady on phone was quite irritated by my questions on what to do with eddy+ kids water bottles as I can't buy new bite valves for it.

Extremely poor customer service - avoid!

Extremely poor customer service. I wish I'd read some of the reviews on here before spending a lot of time trying to get a warranty claim on a bite valve for a bottle cap (an item that must cost them pennies to produce). Apparently after years of using Camelbak bottles the failed valve (sheared in half) is user error. We have many of their bottles in the house (some 5010 years old), with no issues until this one bought at the start of the year. I was anticipating a fairly straightforward warranty claim and a new valve in the post. Instead, I was patronized and told that there couldn't possibly be an issue with the product but instead with my technique. Hmmm. I'm currently developing a detailed procedure for using a Camelbak bottle which I will roll out to my wife and kids via a PowerPoint presentation and some practical demonstrations - do Camelbak have a youtube video detailing how to correctly drink from their bottles...?

Laughable warranty and poor quality materials

Ive bought about 5 or 6 camelbak bottles over the years and every single one the bite valve has broken. All of them tear or rip eventually and it's a faulty product.

I sent a photo to the warranty department for the latest bite valve that broke and they've refused to replace it. When I asked why they have written back "The decision was made by our warranty deparment and I am not authorized to provide you with more information/proof than that". A laughable response.

Don't buy camelbak. They're terrible quality and dont fulfill their own warranty.

Don’t waste your money on Camelback products!
Bought 2x children bottles and one broke within 2 months. Camelback tried to blame my toddler for chewing the mouth piece without even seeing a photo of the bottle. Much cheaper products out there doing a much better job. Camelback UK customer service is very poor.
A brand living on its past.

Thrive flip straw design fault

I have been a Camelbak user for years, initially for water bladders for cycling but over the last 3-4 years, I've purchased their water bottles both for myself and my family.

My boy has used an insulated Eddy bottle for 18 months for nursery / school which was great but I managed to lose it. Replacement Eddy bottles seemed hard to come by and various Google searches pushed the Thrive flip straw (presumably the replacement model).

I ordered directly from Camelbak. On receipt, first impressions were that the bottle looked well made but they had introduced a new housing mechanism to cover the bite tube when not in use. As a result, the Thrive bite tubes were longer and seemed less rigid than the Eddy one's.

Within 2 weeks, the bite tube had split and the bottle leaked as a result. I immediately messaged the support team at Camelbak. Three weeks later, I had a response. I highlighted the problem and advised them that we'd had other Camelbak bottles where the bite valves had lasted 9-12 months before they needed replacing.

They asked for pictures which were promptly sent. I was advised the next day that their 'experts' had reviewed the pictures and suggested the damage was down to the bite valve being chewed. This was nonsense (my boy is 5 and knows how to get water out of them without using them as a chew toy) so I sent a response back advising the thing was used 3-5 times before it split etc but to no avail.

Believe it or not, they have a warranty named 'we got your bak' which is just straight marketing BS. I reckon I've spent £500 in the last 10 years on their products but they won't get another penny out of me moving forward.

Flawed products I can forgive if its backed up with strong customer service. It would have cost Camelbak £1-2 to solve the problem and generate goodwill but they opted to go the other route and blame the customer instead.

The customer service is without doubt the worst I have experienced

Awful. Truly awful.

Very disappointed

Very disappointed, I think they’ve changed their warranty I had a perfectly good bottle didn’t leak at all, then after 6 months it started to leak so I contacted them to get it sorted with this so called lifetime warranty they have and they denied my request. Definitely don’t buy expecting to get a warranty for your product they’ll not do anything for you. They even called me by a different name which was very rude.

They do not honour their warranty. Bag owned for 8 months with very little use. And the material fibers started separating. Photos were sent to customer services who declined to honour any warranty or repairs.

Great product but don’t count on their warranty-
We bought 40 thermos cup flasks which work great however mine has failed in the hinge part I only need a new bit I think but as we bought them from an outdoor shop over a year or so ago they don’t want to know - the manufacturer who offers a “lifetime warranty “ don’t want to know. So advice is the “lifetime warranty “ is just a marketing tool.

No communication, no delivery

I’ve never received any acknowledgment that my order has been received: no email after 5 days.
I sent a request for clarification to the support email address, and there is no response after 4 days, not even an automatic email acknowledging the reception.

It is a terrible experience. I’m very disappointed. My money are blocked, but I have no hope of getting my purchase.

Great customer service

I lost the cap to my hydration bladder, which I've had for a few years and love. I couldn't find any replacements to purchase online, so I thought it would be worth emailing Camelbak to see if they could help me out (offering to pay for the part). They got back to me quickly, confirmed the model type, and sent me a replacement free of charge. It arrived just a couple of days later. So, so grateful for this customer service, and keeps me with a usable product for a few more years.

AVOID if you value acceptable delivery standards

Wish I had read reviews on here before ordering!

I ordered a water bottle almost two weeks ago and I have no idea when I’ll receive it. First of all, they send out an email vaguely saying it’s dispatched and a button to track - but there is no tracking information available.

The two stars is for the company to have responded to my email and provided tracking information, but I am still short a water bottle.

I have never had issues with Evri to my address, but it first of all it sat at the depot for a couple of days doing nothing, then claimed to be out for delivery (it wasn’t) and somehow failed that, then says to deliver next working day. Something weird is going on.

I thought it would take the standard 3-5 days to get an order, but I see it says on their website their aim is 30 days (!). Save yourself time and hassle and just buy on Amazon.

Luckily bought with PayPal and will escalate with them if I don’t receive it this week.

This is not CamelBak this is Zyro who are UK resellers, they just run the local website and logistics. I'd recommend Paypal purchases only for the added (very good) buyer protection. Zyro were ok (a little slow) but they unwisely used Hermes AKA Evri who either opened the parcel and resealed and/ or utterly destroyed the packaging (pancaked it) but steel bottle survived to its credit.

Some bonus feedback on the steel Camelbak bottle. The metal bottle body may be tough but despite extremely careful use the plastic lid and twist-lockoff have micro abrasions after one use and despite hard to see are very obvious to touch when locking/ unlocking. Previous plastic bottles had quite good Tru taste feature (guaranteed no plastic flavour leach) but this steel bottle is adding flavour to the water which is very odd. It was cleaned before first use. Water is left in the tip in between uses (does not drain back in) which gets dirty with road grime or makes a mess and means you need to shake it out after each sip. You can't really use it off the bike in a bag etc.

Similar experience that others have…

Similar experience that others have had. Paid £50 for a filter water bottle. After just a few weeks of use the filter became blocked. After waiting some months for a response I had to provide numerous details about the product. Then a replacement filter arrived which does not fit.

Now I am back (presumably) waiting months for a reply to my request for another replacement.

Unfortunately there is no customer services number and their supposed escalation email to a manager does not provide a response either. Will not order from them again.

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY

This has to be the worst company we’ve ever had to deal with!! My partner ordered a travel mug as my birthday present. That item never arrived because they use the most useless couriers on earth (Evri). Initially my partner did get a response saying another would be delivered by an alternative courier, but surprise surprise, that one hasn’t arrived either and despite several attempts to contact customer services, they have failed to reply and I’ve been left without my birthday present. Do not order from this company whatsoever as you’re unlikely to receive your item.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!

Ordered an item, but upon arrival it was defective. I emailed to sort out a replacement, it took multiple days for anyone to reply, and while they said they would send out a replacement, days later I have heard absolutely no confirmation that this has happened, I have received no replacement, and once again nobody is replying to my attempts to communicate.
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!
If there is any issues with your item or order you have no ability to get a replacement or complain. One of the worst companies I've ever had to deal with. There's plenty of better companies that make equivalent products. Nearly a fortnight later and I am still no closer to resolving this issue.
