Thank you for your response. I will address it point by point.
1. YOUR OWN GPS DATA CONTRADICTS YOUR INVOICE
You provided GPS data to support your position. I have reviewed it carefully. It shows the following:
• Departed depot: 11:32 AM
• Arrived at job: 11:46 AM (14 minutes travel)
• Stopped at job: 1 hour 16 minutes
• Departed job: 1:02 PM
• Brief interim stop: <20 seconds
• Departed: 1:03 PM
• Arrived depot: 1:15 PM (12 minutes return travel)
Total depot-to-depot per your own GPS: approximately 1 hour 42 minutes, which rounds to 1 hour 40 minutes (1.67 hours) under your stated 5-minute billing increments. This equates to $325.65 + $9.50 admin + 15% GST = $385.47 — not $403.36.
The travel time between your depot and National Storage Ngauranga is 6-7 minutes. You've doubled the travel time.
Your GPS does not support your invoice. It produces a different figure entirely.
2. THE INVOICE AMOUNT HAS ALREADY CHANGED—WITHOUT EXPLANATION
The original invoice was $459.43. It then became $403.36. No revised invoice was issued, and no explanation was provided. This alone demonstrates the original billing was incorrect. You cannot simultaneously claim an invoice "stands" while having already reduced it.
3. THE DEPOT-TO-DEPOT BILLING MODEL IS UNAMBIGUOUS
Your own quote states—and I quote your email verbatim—"$195+GST per hour on a depot-to-depot basis (timer starts when we leave our depot in Kaiwharawhara & stops when we return to our depot)."
That is an all-inclusive hourly rate. Separating travel as additional line items — however you choose to label them "for clarity" — is not a presentation choice. It is double-charging. The mechanism of your GPS does not change the contractual terms you offered, and I accepted.
4. THE DISPUTES TRIBUNAL
You have preemptively raised the Disputes Tribunal. I welcome that. I would remind you that the Tribunal will assess the agreed contractual terms, the operator's direct statement to me of 1 hour 5 minutes on the job, the unexplained reduction from $459.43 to $403.36, and your own GPS data—all of which, taken together, do not support the amount you are seeking.
I'm settling this just for now. Will be filing a complaint with consumer rights.
