DIRTY AND SMELLING MUSTY
My wife's stepsister and her family had booked a holiday to Italy at the San Vito campsite, they wanted to try something new.
As the romantic that I am, I wanted to surprise my wife and our 2 children with a holiday together with the others, which by the way was also our first camping trip.
Anyway, after a long journey from Cyprus which began at 10am to the Cisano camping site, where we arrived around 01am we were actually received with a smile. We had paid a deposit of €200 and €100 more was requested as a deposit for receiving the key, the remaining amount of approx. €500 was to be settled the next day.
After the long journey we had been looking forward to some sleep, but unfortunately that was not the case.
We knew very well that what we had booked was not luxury, but fairly primitive. On the website it looked clean and nice. It was a shed with a room, kitchen and bathroom. When we finally got there, we opened the door and were greeted by a lot of spiders and an unbearable smell of mold. It wasn't long before we were rushing out and back to reception. We complained about what we had experienced during the 45 seconds we were in the shed and luckily we got our €100 deposit back for the key.
We were told that the other €200 would have to be discussed with the manager.
We decided to find a hotel room until we could find a more permanent solution for the rest of the holiday.
We drove up and down the area for 3 hours and asked at least 30 hotels if they had a room available, which to our luck everything was booked. We then chose to drive to Verona, which was 40 km from Bardelino.
Finally we found a hotel where we could spend the night (6 hours) for €360 🤦🏻♂️
The next day we drove back to Cisano reception and requested a refund, which they flatly refused. They lied and said the "shed" was clean and didn't smell musty at all. We just wanted our €200, unfortunately they kept on refusing, especially after we were offered something else the same night we arrived which was a lie again.
We tried with various emails but got rejection after rejection by a rude manager.
Cannot be recommended.
