Camp Kindling Reviews 

Unfortunately this festival had so much potential but they do seem to place more importance on money and marketing than loyal customer satisfaction.. I doubt Kindling will last long if it continues.

This is a well run, safe and extremely fun family festival. There are activities for all age ranges from toddlers to teenagers to adults.
We have returned every year for 4 years as it is great value for money and the ability to pay in interest free monthly instalments really helps to make it affordable.
The organisers of the festival really care about the improving the festival each year and host a feedback 'campfire' session during each event and I have actually seen my suggestions implemented in the following year!

I experienced a serious incident involving physical and non-consentual behaviour from my carer while attending Camp Kindling and, as a result, I had him leave the festival on Friday night/early Saturday morning.

I had purchased £70 worth of credits 4 weeks prior to the event to allow him access to activities, which I attempted to transfer to my son after he left for safeguarding reasons. I was unable to transfer those credits to another ticket which was particularly frustrating because additional credits could be transferred when I attended the previous year, and I do not recall seeing any clear warning when purchasing them that they would be non-transferable or that any policies had changed.

I contacted Camp Kindling, explained the circumstances and asked whether the £70 could be refunded or transferred given the exceptional situation. Unfortunately, my request was denied.

What has upset me most was the lack of compassion shown in response to an extremely distressing situation. I was not asking for a refund because I had changed my mind or simply failed to use the credits; the person whose ticket they were attached to had to leave because of a serious incident and I was not notified upon purchase that they would be non-transferrable this year. Personal safety should be paramount, especially at a family festival.. and refusing to co-operate only encourages disabled people to endure abuse in fear or financial loss. This is known in psychology as the sunk cost fallacy.

Camp Kindling reported and attempted to hide this review on Trustpilot rather than attempting to resolve the issue with me directly, but I would like to emphasise that I would be happy to update this review to reflect other positive experiences should Camp Kindling be willing to reconsider the situation and reach a reasonable resolution with me.

This was our 2nd year coming with 3 other families and we all upgraded our tickets to get more tokens for activities
However we come back with most of our tokens as all the activities were fully booked from the moment they were released , leaving us on waiting lists the entire time
We had to entertain ourselves which was fine but we could of done that anywhere instead of paying all that money to get tokens, it was so overbooked there needs to be some changes in how the booking system is now
For this reason we all said we wouldn’t return
The reason being for the 3 stars is the entertainment in the evening was brilliant.

We went as a family of four, 8 year old, 15 year old and us adults. There was so many fun activities to suit all of us. Always something going on around the site to see and do. Lots of food options, some were a bit expensive so just plan ahead, if you dont want to eat at the vendors, bring plenty of food and snacks, we did a bit of both. The Pre pitched tent was fabulous and made life alot easier. At the end of the day, it is a festival, yes it can be pricey, but we didn't stop all weekend, so if you're a busy family who love a night-time boogie its absolutely perfect!!

We had such a lovely weekend, and my girls are still talking about it nonstop. They absolutely loved the variety of activities and the whole atmosphere.

I wanted to share one piece of feedback that might help improve the flow of the day. At lunchtime, all activities stop at the same time, which means everyone heads to lunch together. It can feel a bit crowded, and it also means there’s nothing running for families who might prefer to keep going.

If possible, staggering the lunch breaks so that some activities continue while others pause could make the experience even smoother. It would help avoid the rush and give families more flexibility.

This is such an awesome festival. Even though we only arrived on the Friday and packed up on Monday morning it felt as if we jammed in enough activities for the entire summer!
We booked our activities in advance from a huge selection which felt very organised. My top tip is to know which activities you are targeting ahead of time and to get online as soon as Enrollment opens to ensure some of these are booked in. We purchased some extra credits but ended up not using them and actually there are so many free activities as well that you end up with a really full day anyway.
The evening activities were fantastic with great variety ranging from fabulous music acts and DJs, hilarious comedians, magicians, storytelling, the patrol games and even free evening activities, all under the stars.
Food-wise, this is not your average festival. There is a wide selection of food options available from breakfast, lunch, evening and in between. My understanding is that the Wildfire team hand pick the vendors based on the quality of their food and you really can taste the difference (Sorry Sainsburys).
The site is pristine with staff working around the clock to ensure toilets and showers are clean and tidy. The keep cup system is sustainable and works well (just don’t leave it in your tent like I did!) and there are ample bins which means there is hardly any litter.
We have already booked for next year and cannot wait to rejoin the magic that is Camp Kindling

I had the best weekend with me and my 2 girls.

However I do need to say for a first timer it can be very over whelming on the first day. I felt some adults took it too far and it felt like it was my first day of school and everyone esle knew each other apart from me. Saying that by the end of the weekend i didnt feel this way.

Also some adults took the games little to much and it took away from the kids.

The facilities, music, games and game room excellent can not fault a thing so well put together. Just some people need to chill out and let the kids enjoy themselves.

The solo meet up at the start was pointless don't go - you do just meet people as you go.

Absolutely beautiful setting and scenery. A fun filled weekend, loved the energy, games, food and activities esp the disco. The only downer is that activities are hard to get onto, no where near enough for the amount of visitors, and some felt a rushed and flat because of tired staff. Long queues of 1hr+ for everything else. It would help if there were larger capacities for activities. The booking system creates panic and fomo which isn’t a good thing in my opinion.

This event is oversubscribed and there are not enough spaces for the amount of children and youth attending to do the activities they are interested in. The evening entertainment is good but that’s for the adults. The food is extremely expensive for what it is and there is not one coeliac accredited vendor.

The concept is brilliant and the setting is stunning however in my opinion they have completely over sold the tickets and they cant cater to everyone. Once enrollment was open to book the events it all kept crashing, couldn't enrol on the really good activities which was disappointing. The active that I did book didnt keep my 4 year old entertained. The poor stalls couldn't keep up with the orders because the amount of people that was there. The queues for everything was ridiculous. Its a shame as I feel the event has got greedy. I wouldn't go again

We had a fantastic weekend at Camp Kindling. First time attendees in 2026 and already booked for 2027. The highlight of our Summer! Family adventures together during the day trying out new skills and experiences and dancing/comedians/all sorts of entertainment in the evening. We went mid level and found we had enough credits for some big items and spent the rest of the time at drop in events which were free. This was the perfect mix for us as we had down time too (which you need!). If you're waivering and wondering if its worth it - it is. Magical memories made to last lifetime.

Keep coming back for more. We just got back from our 3rd consecutive Camp Kindling and immediately booked in for year 4. The reason we love it is that it is pure-screen-free family time; from dawn till dusk we shape our weekend around the activities we will most enjoy as a family, whether it's very physical or more craft-based there really is something for everyone.

Best thing we found as a family of four, returning for third year now. Excellent value for money when it comes to range of activities on offer, facilities available to use, and the vibes of the weekend. Can’t wait to return again next year.

I bought tickets for a family of 5 and booked the boutique accommodation for us totalling over £2000 and we were looking forward to going to the event but unfortunately we couldn’t and I contacted them few weeks to the event. We were advised to list our tickets for other people who were still waiting to buy tickets, they said there were about 1150 people waiting to book so I released the tickets and they agreed to take 5% commission for reselling the tickets for us. They didn’t refund us and no communication from them. I messaged them several times and received no reply.
They said on their website that the event was sold out weeks before the event and a lot of people were still waiting for tickets so I see no reason why they would not refund us for our tickets after we released the tickets to them before the event. I believe they are dubious and should not be trusted, customers should be aware of this and not believe whatever they post on their website.
They are not trustworthy. They are quick to tell you what will make you feel good and put money into their pockets but when you need support they ignore you.

I am still waiting for them to respond to my emails and make refund for the tickets I released to them and they sold those tickets to the customers who were waiting.

I agreed that they should take 5% commission for reselling the tickets and pay the 95% of the money I paid back into my account.

This was our first time attending Camp Kindling and it did not disappoint. We had an amazing time as a family of 4 (incl children aged 5 and 8) on the boutique camping site. The staff were great, very helpful and attentive. The facilities were clean and cleaned regularly.

The weekend overall was a perfect mix of relaxed yet active. It was great to just spend quality time with your family making meaningful memories and trying new things together (without iPads). The food vendors were really nice and reasonably priced if your preference is to utilise this way of food as we did.

All round it was a great atmosphere and energy. I loved how it catered to all of the family. We all truly loved the experience and will be looking to come again next year!

I would definitely recommend to anybody who is thinking of attending.

A great family festival. A fantastic variety of activities during the day and music/entertainment at night. We loved taking part in the patrol games and the sense of community (#HawksForLife!). It never felt too busy and the woodland setting was lovely. We have already booked again for next year.

Camp Kindling is amazing! So good that we booked to go again as soon as we got home. This will now be our yearly break. We loved it. There's something for everyone!

Great setup and kids had a wail of a time. We’ll be going again.
Could improve:
Soft play offering for the little ones.
WiFi/internet needs sorting as this is how activities are booked and was a major drawback.
Come with a full wallet!

We loved the whole weekend, great entertainment, happy vibes and time to switch off with the family. We booked as soon as we could to go back next year!
