They can’t find my tapes - it’s been FOUR months+

They have had my old video camera tapes since January and it’s now April and they can’t tell me where they are and are blaming it on a technical issue with shipping. This makes no sense. And now I have lost TEN tapes with footage of my daughter when she was a child. I am beyond devastated and furious. DO NOT trust them with your things that can’t be replaced.

AMAZING quality, fast service, reasonable a la carte pricing (only pay for what you want)

I had a wonderful experience with YesVideo/Capture. For decades I'd postponed finally making an effort to digitize our VHS taped wedding video. When I got to watch the tape after 30 years, the demagnetization was so bad, it was unwatchable. I decided to get it digitized anyway, hoping I might be able to improve the quality with some video-specific AI models. After researching I decided to go with YesVideo (now Capture.com). Their pricing was very reasonable, with options to get your old video shipped back, get your video(s) sent back on a USB memory stick, and/or downloading from the capture cloud. I opted to pay extra for the return shipping of my tape, and a copy on USB drive. I got the online access, usb drive and og tape back pretty quickly. But I was not prepared to be blown away as I was by the quality of the digital transfer, which was SPOTLESS. Yes, the sound was mono (doh) and the resolution was low for this day and age (because VHS: 384x288), but it was as good as it was 30 years ago, with ZERO "digital snowstorms". Smoothing and cleaning must have been applied without being advertised or charged for. So, quality was amazing, pricing was more than reasonable (cheap when judging against the output quality, service was fast and smooth. We were so happy to relive our wedding experience again after 30 years (and even seeing all the now deceased relatives and friends was joyful if sad at the same time). It was the greatest Christmas present to my wife.
If I had another 100 VHS tapes with memories I wanted to restore, I would totally entrust YesVideo/Capture with taking care of them.
It's possible their customer service is not amazing (have you tried to deal with Comcast or Verizon lately?), but if you don't need it (like I didn't), that doesn't matter.
They would not be able to produce this quality at speed at scale, and make money, without a functional process model. Things can go wrong everywhere (because, humans...). But most likely your experience will be great too.

Capture.com SUCKS

I have not received the work from Capture.com yet, so I can't say anything about quality, but they just charged me extra money in order to give me access to the digital files... WHY? I guess that since I already paid for the whole work and shipping, I would not decline to pay more money in order to get it. I called them and the representative told me that if I declined to pay the extra amount, they would send my tapes back and lose the money. Capture.com you SUCK big time. Hopefully there are more companies that do the same work without cheating the customers

Awful service

I reached out to capture who yesvideo outsourced to to do a basic digital transfer. The transfer was supposed to be available via internet. The transfer failed.
Contacting yesvideo who sent me to capture who sent me to fujifilms. All of whom passed the buck. In the end I did not get the digital transfer that I paid for.
The customer service departments were all unhelpful and I would not recommend yes video or capture to anyone. Terrible experience 0/5 stars
