Don't automatically renew without using a comparison website.
I asked for an upgrade price to include CDW , it takes 2 days for a response, which doesn't inspire confidence should you need to make a claim, and when I got an upgraded renewal quote it was cheaper to renewal as a new customer, with a comparison Web site, thats why you should never have automatic renewal with Eversure.

Used eversure car hire excess insurance for about 8 to 10 years now and rent several cars a year. I've had to make claims 3 times (ranging from 200 to 1200 euros) for damages, each time the response and payout was quick with no issues. Just make sure you take photos of any damage, keep the rental contract and get an invoice for the charges from the rental company and any other charges you may incur that are covered.
