Extremely Unprofessional and Hostile Customer Service – Avoid This Company
I had a deeply disappointing experience with Caribbean Flights, particularly due to their shockingly rude and unprofessional customer service. When my inbound flight was delayed—something entirely out of my control—I reached out proactively to inform them and discuss adjusting my charter departure. Instead of responding professionally, I was met with an aggressive, condescending, and outright hostile email from their representative, Captain “Erik” Besançon.
His response included the following statements:
• “You started to show an attitude and aggressiveness, wrongly believing that the plane will sit on the ground all day waiting for you. You obviously don’t know how this works.”
• “You can be happy that we agreed to work on a different departure time, and you must know that this was made possible ONLY because I talked to [the airline] before you did.”
• “We could strictly apply the booking policy and decide that due to the delay, your charter flight is canceled. If you keep having an attitude about it, we will do it. It just takes one phone call to [the airline].”
• “Your threatening to go online will NOT save your trip. Be assured that we are open to legal action for defamation if you try to damage our reputation for the wrong reasons.”
• “We also have the right to remove you from the flight if you display any sort of disruptive behavior, including in writing. Disruptive passengers are reported to the FAA.”
This kind of language is completely unacceptable for any customer-facing business, let alone one that caters to high-end travelers. Instead of working with customers in good faith, they resort to intimidation, threats, and hostility.
For anyone considering using Caribbean Flights—stay far away. There are many other charter services that treat their customers with professionalism and respect.
Next time, I will just book directly with the airline (SXM Airways). They were fantastic by the way.
