Avoid Carlinklife At All costs. They are not a reliable company
They claimed that they needed 2 weeks to build a "custom" unit to fit my specific automobile, and would send me a tracking number when the order shipped. After 2 weeks had passed and no tracking number had been provided, I emailed asking for the tracking number. In response, I was told that the order had shipped the day before, (Friday), and that they would provide me with the tracking number on Monday, "once the system had updated". The following Tuesday, after I still had not received the tracking number I emailed asking for it again. They then provided me a China Post tracking number, which indicated that the shipping ticket had been created, but the item had not actually been shipped. They then failed to respond to 2 followup emails. Then all of a sudden, without any explanation whatsoever, I received a notification that a refund had been issued. I spoke with "Customer Service" via website chat, and was told
"Hi! We are reaching out regarding your order. Our records show that the shipping carrier has returned the package to us. We are currently unsure if this was caused by an issue with the shipping address or the recipient information. To ensure the security of your transaction and your funds, we have issued a full refund to your account. You should also receive a refund notification email in your inbox shortly."
This is complete nonsense, both because the tracking system clearly indicated that they carrier never received the package, and of course, any reliable company would have promptly contacted their buyer to clarify any address issues had they occurred, not just cancelled the order without any notification or explanation, particularly when they had supposedly built a custom unit, which presumably they would not be able to sell elsewhere. When I pointed this out, the agent stopped responding in the chat window. This is clearly not a reliable company, and I should strongly recommend that any would be buyers go elsewhere. I have no way of knowing if they have actually given me a refund or not, but given my experience, I am immediately instructing my credit card company to charge back the full purchase amount.
