Ineffective costly treatment

I don’t understand the business model. I paid £110 to have 4 verrucas removed from my foot over two sessions of cryotherapy. I left with the same 4 verrucas. What business can charge for a service they don’t provide?

Response to the comment from Carlisle Foot Clinic:
I did contact your clinic to discuss the fact that the treatment was ineffective. I was told to pay for a different treatment. A treatment described by you as being £10/second for 30 seconds of treatment and so painful that very few people managed to complete it. Another £300 for you to have another go, which may or may not be successful. Again I don’t understand a business who can charge you for a service which doesn’t solve the problem.

Response 2:
That is exactly my point and why I titled my review “ineffective costly treatment”.
Valuing your services at £600/minute without actually having to solve their problem is not a business model. It is highway robbery and potential customers should be aware that you think this is just “…..the nature of healthcare” before coming to your business.

Hi James, thank you for your review, as we tell all clients no verrucae treatment has 100% efficacy, every person responds to cryotherapy differently owing to different skin thickness and HPV variance, but it is a good option as it is well tolerated and has a very low risk of scarring. For unresolved verruca we offer multiple different options including surgical removal, though these are more invasive, have longer healing times and can lead to scarring.

It is a shame you did not contact us to discuss your dissatisfaction so we could help and offer solutions and instead decided to leave us a negative review based on an aspect we cannot control.

We are happy to help and discuss your many treatment options, you can contact us in the normal way via email or telephone. We wish you the best with your foot health.

Additional response to reviewers edit:

Hi James, the treatment you are describing is not offered by our clinic but by another clinic in the wider area, hence we would make no money from you choosing that treatment we just informed you of alternatives to ensure you can make the best decision for your healthcare. As with cryotherapy the treatment you describe does not have 100% efficacy as no treatment option does, this is the nature of healthcare. We wish you the best with your foot health.

Fantastic!

The main reason for my appointment was for some treatment of a painful and persistent corn, but for some months I had been struggling with a foot injury for which I had been having physio treatment. Jonathan was fantastic and advised me on suitable footwear and fitted me with orthotic insoles. Since then my foot has improved hugely and I am now able to walk much further distances without the need for any further physio treatment.
