Avoid this Hotel
Booked this place for a night and there was no hot shower, and extremely cold.Additionally, the mangers approach was idiotic and we left the place and they would not refund us.
Just don’t use this Hotel that’s all
The Carlton hotel, Great Yarmouth
I have stayed at this hotel many times over the the last 20 years, but oh my how things have changed!!!
Arrived at check in only to be told there is no alcohol served at the bar!
There is also no evening entertainment although we were told on booking last year that there was!
The breakfast was awful and dried up! And whoever heard of an English breakfast with no bacon or pork sausage?
The evening meals were also awful..
There was no bread rolls with the soup (run out!)
One morning no orange or apple juice (run out!)
Asked for a coffee in the bar (machine is broken!)
I honestly felt sorry for the staff, Marie on reception was amazing, as was Jess in the dining room! I don’t know how they managed to keep smiling!!!
WE WILL DEFINITELY NOT BE GOING BACK!!!
Only stayed one night at The Bournemouth Carlton Hotel. Positives...friendly,helpful staff in all departments, large quiet room, comfortable bed, nice linen.
Negatives...tired interior in need of refurbishment, small indoor pool with lots of screaming children next to the jacuzzi which was for adults only but so noisy next to the indoor pool- not the relaxing experience I was hoping for! Gym OK but very small and limited equipment.
We were greeted and made to feel most welcome by Kelsey who not only looked after reception but was also a very knowledgeable waitress too.
The Bistro Menu provided an excellent variety of choice of quality dishes in tasteful recently refurbished surroundings .

Looks nice outside but is the worst possible type of place. Ignorant staff and tasteless food. Dishes lacked ingredients, no salmon in the pasta.
