They are just nonsense

They are just nonsense. I logged in, and they banned me in the same sec. I wrote claim and they are saying that I was doing some suspicious activity, when i didn't even spend a sec in their page being logged in.

I had a very disappointing experience…

I had a very disappointing experience with Carousell. Despite having a solid reputation with multiple 5-star reviews, my account was suddenly suspended without any clear reason or proper investigation. It seems the suspension was triggered by some loser buyer’s report, without strong justification and Carousell took action without giving me a chance to explain or appeal properly.

What’s worse is that all my positive reviews and selling history were wiped out. I was forced to create a new account and start rebuilding my reputation from scratch, which is incredibly unfair for someone who has been a genuine and trustworthy user of the platform.

Carousell needs to seriously improve its moderation and support systems. It’s disheartening to see how easily an account can be taken down based on a one-sided report, with no transparency or due process. I would not recommend this platform to serious sellers who value their time and credibility.

PERSISTENT HARASSMENT BY CAROUSELL

DO NOT TRUST CAROUSELL WITH YOUR INFORMATION.

*Admin if you are reading this, this is a genuine review as I have screenshots as proof.

Carousell, I've Warned you MULTIPLE times on 26/04/2025 not to let Carousell staff Abe email me again and get a SENIOR CAROUSELL MANAGER to contact me.
However, you chose not to listen.
For this persistent harassment, you get this review.

I have evidence to show that your company revealed my details and the transfer screenshot to another Carousell user despite me persistently telling you not to do so and without my permission.

This is a Violation of the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).

I had hoped to resolve this amicably.

But, it seems you are not willing to support me by keep allowing Abe to harass me with emails. That's why I'm writing this review.

As a seller

As a seller, I sold something and I can't get my payment as Carousell only transfer to limited banks in Hong Kong and major banks are excluded in the list.Contacted the support team, basically no support as all answers are in single line and no resolution. I almost feel that Carousell is doing this intentionally so that seller is not compensated.

Furthermore my buyer cannot refund. Clearly Carousell is not ready to operate in Hong Kong.

Horrid, unhelpful, double standard admin team

I have been a Carousell user for years with my profile garnering 100+ 5* reviews and have also met lots unscrupulous users.

My latest experience comes from a user who insisted I pay and refused to accept the offer to confirm the deal. Since I could easily be scammed if he chose to block and ignore me after payment without accepting the offer, I refused to pay unless the offer was accepted.

He then told me he refused accept my offer as I had a 4.9 rating and he had a 5.0. Firstly I have more reviews, 60 for him and 108 for me in total and 3 of the low ones were from users who feel the world revolves around them. The more deals you do, the more chances to find bad apples.

In this case someone with 1 5* review is more trustworthy than me since the average is 5.0, higher than my 4.9 across 108 reviews.

So when I said he was paranoid, he reported me and Carousell sent a warning which I disputed and they doubled down on about how saying things offensive, indecent, threatening or profane etc.. are cause for a warning. Which to me means anyone can report anything as long as they do not like it, which means I should also report people who say things I hate to hear regardless if they are objectively offensive or not. It is so ridiculous!
All I said was he was paranoid. How is that being offensive?
This is on him not liking what I said, a case of being subjective.

I blocked him and when I did so he used another account to harass me further and Carousell did not suspend an account despite stating everyone is only allowed to own one account!

Other incidents can be listed too. A user sold me an iPhone with a very subtle crack which only was seen under certain lights and when I reported this user, He got away scot free and I was brushed off by admins saying I should have looked at it better. Really? He lied in his listing with no cracks as the hairline crack was only visible under certain lights so why must I bear the loss by being conned into buying a damaged item?

And how another user wanted me to go down to his place in the West for a $3 discount and I said he was crazy, and one where I was incessantly messaged by a user begging for a job which I told him to get a part time job in FnB if he was so desperate. Again, I got an email warning for both for offensive behavior. If this is offensive I would love to see what they classify using profanity as, since I have gotten such profane messages from users.

Then there is the case of Carousell coins. I have seen so many users make duplicate listings with coins and guess what? They go untouched!
Yet my listings for two different mascot costumes were deleted citing duplicates. So the admin team is removing listings on their basis and not seeing what is a duplicate and what is not! And seeing paid users able to break rules irks me and makes me feel Carousell only respects paid users! Since Carousell Coins expire, why should I buy them? Let me keep my free listings and wait for buyers.

Lastly I want to address the admin team and how they always double down on their decisions. I reported a user with 5 identical listings and nothing was done, yet thrice, users reported me for saying things they did not like (Which were nowhere near offensive) and I got warnings. If this is how I was from the start I would not have 105 5* reviews and 3 bad reviews.

The admin team needs to investigate and not issue warnings and suspensions based on one side because whoever reported them is usually doing so out of spite, as in my case when saying a user is paranoid for saying I am very untrustworthy, him ignoring 100 5* reviews in favor of a 1* review from a very demanding seller refusing mail, courier or dealing ONE train stop from him, making me take an hour long bus ride to his convenience, it speaks a lot about the value of that 1* review that I am somehow hard to deal with, when he is the one demanding I deal to his convenience without making any concessions and being rigid.

The aforementioned user who saw this review said I was untrustworthy them tried making me pay without accepting the offer, now that is dubious and violates the site rules, yet him doing so AND harassing me AND using two accounts to do so goes unpunished, it is no wonder they have tons of bad reviews.

I am so sick of Carousell‘s complacency as they are the only online marketplace in Singapore and the only reason why I am using them. Should a competitor come along, I will be leaving without any hesitation, all they care is income from ads and sale of Coins, and if you do not pay for an ad or buy Carousell Coins, Do not expect them to value you.

And the “admin team” looks to be powered by Artificial Intelligence with the same generic responses.
And it is likely what deemed me offensive, and if a human were to look, it would see I was not offensive!

I have also published a video over my sour experiences given I want it and how Complacent Carousell is to be widely known

Trash company, Carousell

Do not give your credit card details to this company, even for seller tools purchase. I opted for seller tool package, foolishly gave them my credit card details and they chalked up fradulent transactions on it. Contacted them numerous times - you can only reach them electronically - and they kept dodging responsibility by folding my query into an earlier query. They are just a bunch of monkeys hiding behind the screen. Zero trust should be given to this company. They are incompetent, unreliable and drips of scam traps everywhere. I can't even remove my credit card details anymore - gotta call my bank to get a new card in order to stop them from more unauthorised transactions. Absolute scam job.

Absolute awful site for buyers

Absolute awful site for buyers! wanted to buy a rare Japan item but kept getting randomly logged out of the site so I reached out to the unfriendly service that ignored my request to let me log back in they never responded until they felt like it only to later say I was banned because I accidentally used a wrong email address? So still not giving up I created a few new real email accounts just to try to log back in it was a absolute waste of time. I tried in pure desperation in vain to get carousel to work for me in my country but instead I'm now permanently banned for just trying to log in to the site and buy the single item I wanted so badly. So after all that pure frustration pleading and complaining to the auto message system countless times to just let me buy this one item posted on the site They never got back to me I waited for a none existent response like I was cut off from the actual real rude customer service and just left hanging for weeks until it was far too late the item was already gone I was both furious and devastated. weeks to months passed of trying to get a real response from the sites actual real customer service I said that I'm never going to use them again Carousel's response was Auto garbage saying they'll continue to ban me for trying to be a potential customer for even trying to log in with future email accounts they can't even take genuine complaints well either so Do yourself a favour everyone if you are a potential buyer don't ever use this site I suggest using proxy buying sites instead to buy from Mercari or other seller site services that Rival Carousel as a fair alternative NEVER ever use Carousel they don't care about it's buyers especially if you live in the UK. Overall a Absolute miserable experience Carousel was just a headache to use in general the site layout is not very user friendly at all either so AVOID at all costs!

Unfair Double-standards!

Took down my listing on common Anti-Inflammatory Fastum gel listing within minutes of posting; while other ads selling the same are still permitted online for at least 8 weeks or more!
I questioned Carousell Singapore this and they replied they are busy.

Seem unfair double-standards and discrimination practices against certain accounts or non-paying accounts?
Certainly leave a bad taste in members' mouth!
