you can't handle my complaint the way you done assuming the car rental got it right and I am wrong while is 100% the opposite.
Overcharged, Misleading Pricing & Terrible Customer Service
I wouldn’t trust Booking.com again. I was overcharged, and Booking.com failed to honor the price they advertised. Even worse, the customer service was extremely poor, with agents hanging up the phone instead of addressing my concerns. If a company can’t stand behind its prices or provide basic customer support, it’s difficult to trust them for future bookings.

Booking.com uses non English speakers on their customer service travel service. It’s funny. Yes a laughing stock. Chaotic. Incomprehension. AI taking us back to primitivism.
Booked an apartment
Booked an apartment, as I was traveling to the property I called for an early entry.
I was told the property had been sold four months prior and booking had been informed.
Asked for help from booking.com and received nothing. They said they would refund me but within 7 to 12 days. They didn’t care that they had mislead and sold accommodation that did not exist.
Please don’t use this company. This has cost me twice as much without any chance of refund by them.
Awful Awful Awful Awful customer service, stay away do not book with them
Zero stars!!!!!!Awful Awful Awful customer service, never ever will i book any holidays through these imcompetant people, the AI robot was more helpful. Useless, the lady I spoke to sounded like i had just woken her up, she was the most unhelpful human being ive ever encountered. Sort your customer service agents out, this company clearly needs investigating there absolutely useless, i am so mad i spent my hard earnt money with you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Never ever again!
Awful
Awful. Do not hire a car through booking.com.
Despite confirmation email, we received a text as we were taxiing to the airport to say the car was not available. No rep/enterprise desk at Reus airport. No one answered the phone. Taxi’s extortionate. We were stranded.
Had no choice but to hire from a different company. Their mandatory hire terms were different and we were hiring on the day so had to take the cheapest car available which was 200 quid more than we had paid.
Booking.com made us jump through hoops and even then would ultimately refund only their basic car hire amount (making it sound like they were doing us a favour!) despite us being massively out of pocket because of them.
If I could give them no stars I would. Dreadful company.
Booking.com is a scam
Booking.com is a scam! No payment since February 2026.
You are a scam and I have made sure that none of my friends and family book through your platform,
" I booked accommodation at Kleinhuisie via Booking.com for 13–15 February 2026 and paid ZAR 2,880, but I never received the accommodation I paid for. Despite the payment being taken, my stay did not go ahead and I was left without the service I had booked. After the booking, I received an email from Booking.com stating that there was an issue confirming the payment and mentioning a refund process, but I still have not received my money back. I contacted both Booking.com and the property about this matter, but my emails were ignored and I did not receive any real assistance or a solution. As a result, I feel that I have been scammed, especially since I no longer have the reservation number and still have not received my money. I want an immediate full refund of the ZAR 2,880 that I paid for this stay that did not take place. I would like this issue to be resolved promptly and to receive clear confirmation once the refund has been processed.
Dreadful experience. Feel like I have been robbed
Booked a property through them in Oct. Paid in full in Feb. Property cancelled within 24 hours notice at a sold out Wembley stadium event. Was promised a refund in 5-7 days. It’s now 15 days and no one is doing anything about this. Out of pocket £405. In addition to this. They agreed to refund the difference paid in full on a replacement property after check out. After checking out decided to go back on this promise and issue £283 in travel credits instead. After repeatedly requesting this issue be escalated and requesting a SAR on the recorded telephone calls to prove I was guaranteed a refund NOT credits I basically got told they would do nothing else and that was tough. So currently out of pocket by nearly £700 for one night and the issue is on going. I have £283 credit for a company I never want to use again after their appalling handling of this whole situation
DO NOT TRUST BOOKING.COM
DO NOT TRUST BOOKING.COM – Unsafe property, insulting "compensation," and calls deliberately cut for 3 weeks
Booking #5820120482 – Balaton, Hungary – August 2026
We booked a large, 2-storey house with air conditioning in every room, a full kitchen, and a beautiful garden.
What we received:
· A different property – The owner gave us a second address on arrival
· Dangerous stairs – Loose railings, unsafe for my 67-year-old father with arthritis and my partner with a medical condition
· No air conditioning – Advertised in every room, only ONE bedroom had it
· Gas cylinder failure – My elderly father had to change it himself with no safety check
· Broken mosquito nets – Windows and entrance damaged, we were covered in bites
· Unsafe shower – Water overflowed and flooded
· Unhygienic property – Dirty pillows piled in corners, rubbish throughout, unkempt garden
· Kitchen inadequate – Advertised as full kitchen but only suitable for 2–3 people, not 5
Our family holiday was ruined. Two young girls were frightened, unsafe, and unhappy.
Booking.com's response?
After my father rejected the owner's pathetic 30,000 HUF offer, Booking.com forced a €42 credit into our wallet without our acceptance. When we tried to withdraw it, the money never arrived.
We have called customer service repeatedly for three weeks. Every single call has been cut. They are deliberately hanging up.
We even emailed the CEO. No response.
€42 for a ruined family holiday. Zero accountability.
This is not just a bad experience – this is a warning to everyone.
Booking.com has lost our trust. We have just booked an all-inclusive holiday to Tunisia for 5 people – the same family they let down here. Booking.com would have been one of our first choices, but we wouldn't even look at them anymore. They will not receive a single penny from us in the future.
If you value your family's safety and a genuine holiday, avoid Booking.com.
Just the worst experience.
Just the worst experience.
You'd think they'd make it easy to list on their website. but no. impossible and overly restrictive. just a shocker. would never use them
Limited help
Booking.com was not very effective at advocating for my refund from a property. I was really flying solo. Their idea of advocating is to inform the hotel of my complaint. They really didn’t weigh in . I think their primary function is to bring the hotel new customers. If you know where you want to stay you should probably just contact the hotel directly .
Easy to book — but no support when things go wrong
Easy to book — but no support when things go wrong
I booked my entire trip through Booking.com for my first visit to the USA. Unfortunately, I made an honest mistake when booking my rental vehicle. Being unfamiliar with the Seattle and Bellingham areas, I selected the wrong Avis pickup location.
After approximately 26 hours of travelling from Australia, I arrived at Seattle Airport on time, only to discover that my rental vehicle had been booked for pickup in Bellingham, a considerable distance away.
I fully accept that selecting the wrong location was my mistake. However, this is exactly when you expect a travel booking platform to provide some level of customer support.
Trying to get meaningful assistance from Booking.com was a nightmare. I was standing at an Avis counter in a foreign country, exhausted after 26 hours of travel, with no vehicle and very limited assistance from Booking.com.
Both bookings were with Avis. What I needed was help changing the pickup location from Avis Bellingham to Avis Seattle, or at least assistance finding a reasonable solution. Instead, I was forced to book another rental vehicle at approximately three times the original rental price.
The experience became even more frustrating when I tried to request a refund for the original unused vehicle. Booking.com advised there was “no proof” that I had been at the pickup counter on time.
That completely misses the point — being at the wrong Avis counter was the entire reason I needed their help in the first place. I was at Avis Seattle on time, rather than Avis Bellingham.
What disappointed me most was the complete lack of empathy or willingness to find a practical solution. I wasn’t expecting Booking.com to take responsibility for my mistake. I was expecting them to provide support when a customer who had booked their trip through their platform genuinely needed assistance.
My advice to fellow international travellers is simple: consider booking directly with the actual service provider rather than through Booking.com.
Booking through the platform may be easy when everything goes according to plan, but my experience showed me how difficult it can become when something goes wrong. When travelling in a foreign country, reliable support matters enormously.
For me, the risk of being left stranded without meaningful assistance is simply too high. I won’t be booking my future travel through Booking.com.
A garbage company that doesn’t give a damn about their customers!
If I could leave zero stars, I would. Typically, I book my flights directly with the airline, but due to the multi city itinerary and the fact I was going with multiple airlines, I decided to give Booking.com try. Huge mistake! First of all, they talk about their great deals, but they aren’t any less or even the same as the airline because they have their little fees and charge you for things that you probably wouldn’t pay for if you booked through the airline. That is what it is and really I don’t even care that much about that. The have to make money too I suppose. My issue is this. On Friday, August 14th, I booked my flight. They promised a confirmation within minutes…at most 30 to 60 minutes. Three hours goes by and nothing. I reach out on the phone and you can’t get a person so I’m going round and round with their very poor quality AI system, and I’m hung up on. I go onto the app and they don’t offer a Chatbot only messages, so I send a message. Nothing. Over the course of the next six days I called at least 10 times and sent at least 15 messages. Aside from the fact that it hasn’t been resolved at all, there hasn’t been any response whatsoever. I have not even gotten an acknowledgment. I have just been completely ignored. The airlines were amazing and even though it was a bit of a struggle, they were both able to get me set up with what I needed to add the flights to my account on their apps and to get my tickets. However, one of the two flights need to be changed for one day later. Unfortunately, because I booked through this third-party nightmare straight out of hell, the airlines are not able to change it and I have to go through them, so I am still stuck and will probably be screwed over and lose the money on this flight and rebook because they clearly do not give a damn about their customers and do nothing to help them. I have definitely learned that this week dealing with them and seeing a whole lot about them online that I wish I would’ve seen before trying to book with them. It is just incredibly rude and disrespectful and unprofessional. I can’t believe a business, especially one as big as this that has been around for this long and has a pretty good amount of money in their pocket is such garbage. I understand their customer service is probably very busy but still…to not get even so much as an acknowledgment in almost a week is disgusting. They have clearly gone mostly, if not all, AI, but didn’t bother investing in a quality system and if they have any people left, there’s probably only a very few who are scrambling to deal with countless issues. Though I’m not even sure how much that has to do with it because from what I understand, this is nothing new and has been going on for years. I think it’s just a bad company that is badly run. Lesson learned Booking.com and I will never use you again and I will tell anyone and everyone I know to stay away from you. You should be ashamed of yourself!
Horrible rebooking system
Made a booking with a flexible ticket. They advertise you can make changes up to 24hrs before the flight. Try to change the flight and you can’t speak to anyone, you have to go through their online chat which takes 48-72hours to reply…so explain to me how you can change to a flight 24hrs before it leaves if you have to wait 2-3 days for them to get back to you. Anyway so I submit my flight change. Wait 2 days only for them to tell me “Oh so that flight is now full.” Would’ve paid R4000 extra, was forced to take another flight 2 days later that cost R9000 extra. During this whole process they connected to a KLM representative who halfway through the call hung up “because the consultation time had lapsed”. Asked the booking.com person if they could get them back to which they said no, I’d have to submit another online ticket and wait for them to get back to me (another 2-3 days). Phoned KLM myself, took 15minutes to find a new flight myself. Booking.com is trash..will never use them ever again.
Booking.com Booking.com cancels my…
Booking.com Booking.com cancels my booking and then fails to honor promises made My experience with Booking.com is downright disappointing. What bothers me most is that Booking.com cancelled my booking, not me. Consequently, I, as a customer, was left to deal with the consequences. During the handling of the matter, I was initially told that I would be compensated for the resulting price difference. That compensation was subsequently not fulfilled. Afterwards, Booking.com clearly promised me that I would receive €2,100 back. Naturally, I assumed this would be an actual refund. However, it later turned out to be a Booking.com credit that I have to spend again at Booking.com. I find that misleading. “Receiving” an amount of €2,100 is different from receiving €2,100 in credit that you have to use to book again at Booking.com. I contacted customer service multiple times to get this resolved. Unfortunately, a different solution or explanation was given each time, while the original promise was not honored. What disappoints me most is that Booking.com itself cancelled the booking, subsequently made promises regarding compensation and a refund, but ultimately failed to honor these in the manner presented to me. By now, it is not just about the money for me, but primarily about reliability and honesty towards the customer. If a Booking.com employee says that an amount of €2,100 will be refunded, you should be able to expect that this actually happens. My trust in Booking.com has been severely damaged by this. I find this way of dealing with a customer who is faced with a cancelled booking through no fault of their own absolutely unacceptable. My advice: be careful with Booking.com when something goes wrong with your booking. Apparently, a promise of compensation does not automatically mean that you will actually receive that compensation.

The worst company I've ever had to deal with. Fine if everything goes to plan. But if anything goes wrong with your booking you may as well just abandon hope immediately. Customer service is worst than useless.
no U.S customer service
There is no U.S. number l. So you get charged a crazy amount just to talk to a customer service agent who puts you on hold for 45 minutes.

Booked a room through them, couldn't stay told on arrival I would get refund from host and, now its "you can only get refund from booking.com" cant get in touch with actual human, chat doesn't work, abysmal
Had a cancellation July 17
Had a cancellation July 17. It’s been over a month and still can’t get my refund. I called booking seven times and they told me I need to call. The property the property tells me I need to contact booking since they’re the third-party booking is horrible. I would not recommend them to nobody still have not got my refund. I contacted corporate from Motel 6 and they said they charge me $54 for a no-show and booking is still charging me the full amount.
