While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more

They scam people into buying a car report of £42 before buying the car in best case scenario, in worst they could steal card details.

I have reported these to the Police as…

I have reported these to the Police as its a scam. Too late for me as I got carried away as the guy seemed genuine at first. Should have trusted my instincts and stayed clear but caught me on the hop as like others, had only placed the ad 10 minutes before. I can't believe only 3 people have reported this as I'm sure they are farming loads of cash from Marketplace

Pushy fake buyer and likely scam – avoid this car report site

I was contacted by a supposed buyer who appeared genuine at first, then suddenly insisted I purchase a paid ‘car report’ from this site before they would view my vehicle. This is a well-known scam pattern where fake buyers pressure sellers into buying low-value reports so the scammers can take your money and harvest your personal details. Legitimate buyers arrange and pay for their own vehicle checks, and reputable reports are available from established UK providers like the DVLA-linked services and recognised HPI-style checks, not obscure sites pushed via messages. In my opinion this setup feels deceptive, predatory, and designed to exploit private sellers rather than provide any real value, so I would strongly advise others to avoid it and not enter payment or personal information.

Be careful this is a scam site

Be careful this is a scam site. Had an enquiry 10 minutes after putting my car for sale on Facebook. The lady asked various questions but said she would need me to get a vehicle report so she could check the cars history and that it was the owners responsibility to do this. She sent me a link to carsreport.co.uk and said this is the report she would need and if I got it she would come over in a few hours and buy the car and pay me back the report fee! Alarm bells rang.... I left her hanging and didn't message her back. She must have blocked me and disappeared. Definite scam.
