These guys mugged me for 15 quid. I only wanted and paid for one car history check but was charged 15 GBP again next month for no reasons. Someone should report these guys to small claims court !

I bought the check with $1000.00 guarantee but it needed the Vin number before it could become eligible. There was not an option to enter it later. Did not purchase the car as the person was pretending to be a private seller.

Good service but no need for the insurance
Makes it safe to buy a vehicle, all relevant checks are done, but I feel there's no need to pay extra for the insurance.

Grandson had been chasing a motorbike he had seen on Ebay, but was also a classified advertismentand hence no financial protection. The pictures looked good, although the location looked a bit dubious.
Your test revealed a very recent change of owner and a warning that the bike had been written off.
So thanks for Car Status Check which will soon be used again!

Good - But!!
easy to complete - but i wish i stayed at the middle level - because the platinum cover checks engine nuber etc and at the time of check i didn't have that info so it was money wasted!
I would use this checker again

We understand that this information is not always available at the time of completing the check however we try to encourage this as in checking the V5 and engine number before purchase, you can potentially avoid buying a cloned vehicle. If any information doesnt match in terms of the VIN, V5 or engine number then we always advise you further investigate or walk away from the sale.

EVERTHING WAS QUICK, CLEAR & VERY EASY TO USE UNTIL VALIDATION. I HAVE A COPY OF V5, COPIED IN MY PRESENCE, & ALL CHECKED OUT UNTIL ISSUE DATE WHICH IS RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY EYES, THEN I FIND OUT WITHOUT ANY WARNING THAT I HAVE ONLY 3 ATTEMPTS. WHATS THE POINT OF PAYING THIS KIND OF MONEY IF I CANNOT USE THE FULL PRODUCT. VERY DISSAPOINTED.

Thank you for your feedback. Whilst we only accept 3 attempts at updating the guarantee, we are able to extend this if required which you can do by emailing a request to statuscheck@hpi.co.uk. The reason we limit it to 3 attempts is to prevent fraudulent activity as we found it was being misused as a means to match dates which were entered multiple times at random.
We are in the process of updating our website to provide an explanation of the 3 attempts for activation and this will be updated on our website very soon.
