Simply put, Carvana is a better way to buy a car. You can browse, finance, and purchase a car online and have it delivered to you as soon as the next day. Cutting out the dealerships translates to thousands of dollars in lower costs on every vehicle we sell. We pass these savings on to consumers in four ways: lower prices (our customers save $1,430 on average per purchase), premium cars, a better experience, and no hidden fees.

Without a doubt, this was the worst customer experience I have had in a very long time. Shame on me for not listening to these reviews so hopefully this one will help many of you avoid that mistake. Here is a summary of what happened
10/5/26 Found a 2019 Silverado that was advertised to be available 10/9/26.
10/6/26- Confirmed the available date was still 10/9/26 and proceeded to order the vehicle but then learned it wasn't available until 10/10/26. So, I adjusted my rental car another day to accommodate. I then paid $27,925.70 for a 2019 Silverado. That's right. I paid in full! I got confirmation that everything was received and they were taking my payment. Less than 10 minutes later, I get a message saying I had to upload several documents, or my pickup appointment would be delayed. I acted on those promptly, 24 hours prior to the deadline THEY gave me and got confirmation that everything was done.
10/7/26 Emails from Carvana state that everything is complete and my vehicle can be picked up on 10/10/26. But now, I need to electronically sign documents. So, I completed those too.
10/9/26 I get an email now saying I have forms to notarize. I also get a phone call from a Carvana representative telling me that I have to bring insurance documents (that were also previously uploaded) to my appointment on 10/10. I asked him if there was anything else and he said no. He had no idea about the notary being needed. But yet claimed I could handle it at the pickup. Maybe? But at this point every flag is going up. So, I once again take the time to complete yet another task for them in what is supposed to be a simple process.
10/10/26 at 6:11 am! I get an email to say my appointment has been rescheduled. Due to a driver calling out! I contact customer support and talk to George who clearly has no interest in helping resolve this problem. He informs me that my truck is at another location and will not be available until 10/13. That location is a whopping 20 miles away! So, it's going to take 3 days to get my truck to the right location? I then ask if I can go get it. Guess what? No, I can't! So, then I tell him that Carvana will need to pay for my rental being extended. Guess what, another no! So, I ask for my options, and George tells me my only option is to wait. I respond to that and say Carvana has three choices: Let me go get the truck. Pay for a rental. Or cancel my order. I hear George typing and about 30 seconds later he says, "Your order is canceled". And I'll have my $27, 925.70 back in about 15 days! That seals the deal. Supervisor!!
15 minutes later I'm on the phone with Majahliwah (I did ask for the spelling) and he comes on the phone after being completely misinformed about what had happened. Approximately 10 minutes later he agrees to expedite the refund and says I will have it be the end of the week.
Now do I believe him? Absolutely not. And I will update this review once I hear back.
But I wanted to get this posted to try to help someone else avoid doing any business with them.
The prompt for putting this in says what went wrong? Everything?
How can this company improve? At this point, anything is an improvement. But they can start by offering alternatives when they cause problems that in turn create problems for would be customers.
I can tell you without a doubt, I will never use them for anything. And I will tell everyone I can the same.
Proceed at your own risk is all I can say with this sorry excuse for a company.
Adding after.10/12/26 reply:
I don't use social media. If it's actually a concern you can certainly look up the transaction with the very specific amount and situation and date. Or you can provide a phone number or email to contact you directly.
10/13/26 Update
I do want to acknowledge that Majahliwah came through. Funds are back in my checking account. Thank you for holding true to your word.
The poster from yesterday didn't reach out though. No surprise there.

I have sold multiple cars and now a truck to Carvana over several years. Every time the experience was great. The ability to receive an offer within minutes, process the details on-line, setup the pickup within days and be handed a check is just so easy. Also, the last two drivers have been very professional and great to talk to. Most recently Alex (out of Flint, Mi) was a car guy and we got on fabulously. Kudos to Carvana for being a great company with great people. And I am just a customer, not paid in any way for this review.

This company is a scam—a bunch of thieves!!! They keep your money and don't deliver the product, and the employee Danny and the manager named Allie are completely unprepared to handle the situation or resolve the problem they created and are responsible for it.
I bought the car online pay it full $30k and one day before the pickup day they cancel my order and hode my money for a week without any explanation! Unbelievable!!!

The process of looking for a car is fun and easy. I found a car I wanted but had to pay a shipping fee of $690. I paid the fee, then had to prove I had insurance so went through all that to get it on my insurance. Then I found out I was not approved for a loan and was told it would take 7-10 business days to get a refund. Well, they sure took the money immediately and that already stressed me out because I need a car and these funds were needed to go towards it. After 7 days I contacted Carvana and was told it takes 7-10 business days to process, then an additional 10-15 days to get the refund...What!!! Why in the world would you charge someone for shipping and make them get insurance before you even know they are approved and then hold their money for almost a month!. Will never do business with this company again.

I had a great experience with Carvana and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a simple, hassle-free way to sell their vehicle.
The entire process, from beginning to end, was extremely easy. The online portal is very user-friendly, from taking and submitting pictures to uploading all the required documents. Everything was straightforward and easy to follow.
The person who came to pick up my vehicle was also extremely friendly and professional. She inspected the vehicle, took pictures, did a quick test drive, and then had me sign the paperwork. That was it—no hassles, no problems, and no unexpected issues.
My only complaint was the $800 pickup fee. Since Carvana was already picking up another vehicle in my area, I feel they could have offered a better discount on the transportation fee. That was the only part of the experience I wasn’t completely satisfied with.
Other than that, the entire transaction went very smoothly. Carvana was professional and trustworthy, and I would definitely do business with them again in the future. Highly recommended!

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience with Carvana.
One of the main reasons I chose this Tesla was because Carvana advertised that it would be available for pickup within a couple of days at no additional delivery cost. I scheduled everything around my pickup appointment and rearranged my day so I could get the car.
Then, only 30 minutes before my scheduled pickup time, I received a text saying my appointment had been delayed — by two weeks. There was no real explanation in the text.
I called Carvana myself to find out what happened and was eventually told that they had lost the key to my Tesla. I understand that unexpected things can happen, but losing the key and then waiting until 30 minutes before my appointment to tell me the vehicle wouldn’t be ready was incredibly frustrating and unprofessional.
After having to push for some type of compensation for the inconvenience, I was offered a $100 check, which I was told would arrive in the mail weeks later.
Fast forward two weeks to my rescheduled pickup appointment. I arrived on time at the Carvana location, where my car had apparently already been sitting, and was told I would need to wait another 20–30 minutes because the car still needed to be cleaned and barely had any charge.
After delaying my vehicle for two full weeks, I really don’t understand why it wasn’t cleaned, charged, and completely ready to go before my scheduled appointment.
What was supposed to be an easy and convenient car-buying experience has turned into weeks of delays, poor communication, and unnecessary inconvenience. The most frustrating part has been the lack of proactive communication throughout the process. I shouldn’t have to repeatedly call, ask for explanations, or push for compensation when the issues were entirely on Carvana’s end.
For such a major purchase, I expected a much smoother and more professional experience

Drove an hour and a half to get my car that they said was on site only to be told last minute that the pickup was canceled. Total BS. After I bought the car I looked at reviews and I should have cancelled it based on just that. Use a local dealer…..

If I could give this negative stars I would. I’m 55 years old and I’ve owned probably 30 cars. This has been the single worst car buying experience I have ever encountered.
We found our dream car for my wife’s birthday. The price was fair and they gave me a fair amount for my trade. With the car showed up I immediately noticed missing pieces from the front end that were pictured on their website. When the car came off the delivery truck, it was rattling and vibrating. After our first test drive, the transmission was shuttering, and the instrument cluster would not get bright after it came out of a dark garage.
They have the seven day exchange and we told them to come get this car. We found another car to exchange.
But they wanted to charge us $1800 for delivery. After several phone calls and some negotiation, they waived the shipping charge. We were excited for our vehicle to show up a few days later.
It made it from the East Coast to the West Coast on time. But five hours before delivery, they said there was going to be a 10 day delay because there was an issue with the car
I was not pleased, but I would rather have them fix the car then deliver it not working, especially considering the condition of the first car they delivered
10 days goes by and for four days before I am checking every day that it’s going to be delivered on time. The day before I’m literally checking every three or four hours. Their AI chat says everything is good and it will be delivered on time. One hour before the delivery AI chat says it will be delivered on time.
Mind you I have blocked out my afternoon for four hours. And what happens one minute before the scheduled delivery? They tell me that there’s a problem with the car and it’s gonna be another 10 days.
So the first car they sent isn’t drivable, they’ve taken my trade and My Wife no longer has a car to drive for three weeks at this point
Well, I don’t want to risk waiting another 10 days so I asked if they can send another car but this time they will not waive the shipping fee and I am not about to drop $2000 for nonrefundable shipping for another POS
Begrudgingly, we decide to keep the first car. They did make a “courtesy” payment of $200 to help with the missing parts on the vehicle.
I took the car to one of their shops with their 100 day warranty, and they tell me the car has a misfire on one cylinder, and it needs a transmission and a driveshaft
I’m now 30 days into having this car and making payments on it and it is sitting in a shop.
Stay very far away from Carvana. They are the complete opposite of Carmax, which was the best car buying experience I’ve ever had.

DO NOT BUY from Carvana. Unless you are buying a clunker, just don't. I bought a 2023 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio with 2,600 miles, and when the car was delivered it had significant undisclosed damage to the front bumper and front carbon fiber splitter. I have pictures of the car damaged while still ON the Carvana truck.
I spoke to several people, submitted two claims, spoke to managers, and not only will they not pay a dime to fix it but wouldn't even refund my delivery fee.
I wish TrustPilot let me attach a photo...
Update, I responded on X via direct message. Waiting for any response from Carvana.
Update 2. Carvana still unwilling to make any repairs or even reimburse my delivery fee for the substantial undisclosed damage to the car.
I highly recommend you avoid this company.

Sold our recently deceased father-in-law's truck for my elderly mother-in-law. The original price was agreed upon for pickup on 9/24 and verified for an electronic title transfer. They arrived, inspected, and drove the vehicle, and all was good until they were told we couldn't complete the transaction without a paper title. We had to reschedule for a new pickup on 9/26 after going to the tag agency and paying 149 for a paper title. On 9/26, another person showed up, inspected, and redrove the truck. He then came back with a $700 deduction due to paint fading on the topper, not actually the truck, which was not an issue with the prior staff. Therefore, they would have to mail us the new check next week. He also didn't have a hauler to take the truck and said they would be there within 3 hours to get it. So he left it in the driveway, unlocked, with the keys on the seat. They didn't pick it up that day, and thankfully the vehicle wasn't stolen. It was not picked up until 9/28. Luckily, I was able to go over on the morning of 9/27 to move it to the yard, then lock it, keep the keys, and had to schedule the pickup with a third-party hauler, which showed up on 9/28 with prior notice. I was able to meet them an hour later, get them the keys, and they took the truck. Finally received the reduced-amount check today, 9/30, 6 days after the original date of the sale.

Selling my vehicle with Carvana was very easy. They offered me a fair price without the hassle of selling it myself. They were very professional and nice. The selling process online was simple and easy. Although they charge a fee for at home pickup, it was well worth it. I would recommend them to anyone looking to sell a vehicle.

The website made the entire process straightforward and transparent. The vehicle pickup process was beyond easy; staff was professional and friendly, and the whole thing took 15 minutes. And I got a great price on my vehicle. It's hard to imagine wanting to sell a car any other way.

From getting the offer to having the car picked up, everything went smooth as silk. I got $2,000 more than CarMax offered, $2,000 more than one dealer and $4,000 more than another dealer. Because the car had some cosmetic damage that I explained as accurately as I could, I was afraid the offer would be reduced on pickup - it wasn't. The only drawback in the experience was I wanted to send pictures of the damage and Carvana doesn't accept them when getting an offer. Turned out, no problem - I received the full offer amount. Ashley was awesome on the pickup - explained everything and was pleasant to deal with. Two thumbs up all around!

Smooth and easy transaction from start to finish, with a fair offer for my vehicle. The driver who picked it up was professional, efficient, and communicated well throughout the process. He also arrived toward the early end of the pickup window, which I appreciated. Overall, a great experience. I would definitely recommend Carvana and would use them again.

Lowballed the fuQ outta me. Theres no way to say that nicely. Then charged me 100 bucks for a pick up fee. The driver was great, customer service great, the way business was handled leads to scores like this.

Fairly straightforward. I was impressed that the pickup fee was very reasonable

Totally shocked as to how well the transaction went. I completed the process online on a Sunday and made a pickup date om Wednesday and they showed up on time and handed me my check. The best part is within two days my auto loan was paid off. The very best part is they paid me $3,000 more than the next highest bid.

Christian made my experience with Carvana one I’d tell all my friends about. Arranged a pickup that worked with my busy schedule, and delivered the most seamless experience I could ask for. He set my expectations for the next steps and left me with a great impression of Carvana and their staff.

The company was great and given us prep to what to do. When it came for pickup. The tow truck driver was nice and kind. He was loyal and honest about the worth value of the vehicle. He even given us time to find the car title when we thought it was electrical, instead it was paper. Over all the service was great and price was decent for selling the car.
