Not A Company to do Business With

We bought a kitchen from Wickes and the delivery was excellent. The preference was to use our own trusted installers and this, too was excellent. However the plumbers discovered that the filter on the hot water equipment leaked. A video was taken and I informed Wickes as well as depositing the faulty filter with them.

I expected the filter to be replaced. After a fortnight I chased Wickes and they hastened Carysil. Following another week or so I again contacted Wickes who again hastened Carysil. This time I was informed that O rings were being despatched to me and this would rectify the problem.

After a week and no O rings I again contacted Wickes who again contacted Carysil who this time put forward the reason that the O rings had been sent to the wrong address!!! This, of course is beyond belief.

I can only assume that this company does not read reviews. I also do not understand why Wickes persist in doing business with them.

Never Buy a Hot Tap from this company

Poor Customer Service, technical advise was only via email (when they eventually got back to us!!) The two year guarantee was a complete waste of time, as Carysil suggested that the hot water tank was the issue. It was not
Eventually we gave up and contacted a local plumber who sorted out the problem (Loose connection in the tap head) We purchased our hot tap from a local building merchants who told us to contact Carysil directly. Poor Technical Help.

Completely unreliable

Completely unreliable – Go somewhere else

Judging by the other reviews I am not the first to have problems with this company.

In September we ordered a new kitchen and the kitchen supplier used Carysil as their benchtop supplier.

We live in a London high rise with normal sized lifts for a residential building. We notified Carysil that the benchtops must fit inside the building lift because we are near the top of the building. When the benchtops arrived, they were far too big to fit into the lift and there was no way to cut them, so they were sent back.

Delivery was rescheduled to when the installer would be available to cut the benchtops to size so that they could fit inside the lift. When the rescheduled date arrived Carysil didn’t turn up, and we were never notified of a change in delivery.

A new delivery date was agreed by Carysil and guess what … they didn’t show up again.

When I complained to the kitchen supplier that the project was now running late because of Carysil’s non delivery, Carysil claimed that I had agreed that the benchtops were not needed until the end of November. Carysil had never contacted me, and I certainly would never have agreed to such a ridiculous delay.

By now, the kitchen supplier's senior management was talking directly to Carysil’s senior management, and they agreed on a new date that was much more reasonable. The day before they were due to deliver the benchtops Carysil contacted the kitchen supplier to say the benchtops were not ready and delivery would be a day later. A day later Carysil again contacted the kitchen supplier to say that their truck had broken down so delivery would now be another day later, which was an interesting claim because Carysil use a logistics company for their deliveries.

Finally, after two more days of delay, the benchtops arrived and could be installed – more than a month after they were supposed to arrive.

Carysil lied and delayed the delivery of our benchtops for reasons known only to themselves. Based on my experience they are not a reliable supplier.

Order from them at your own risk.

Bad quality of products and customer service

I purchased a 4 in 1 Sink Mixer Tap With Boiling Water Tank And Filter from Wickes. This product costs over £500 so you would think it should be a good quality product. It is Not.
This product was to replace a standard Franke mixer tap which had been completely removed for a clean installation.
The installation instruction for the Carysil tap are terrible. The first problem encountered was that the screw holes for the flexible water pipes were badly tapped and had swarf in them. Before i could fit the pipes I had to run a tap through them and apply plumbers lubricant to ensure the fitted well and would not leak. A flexible hose was missing from the kit but fortunately I had one.
Installation complete, I turned the water back on first and checked for leaks and the operation of the tap in terms of domestic hat and cold. With everything fine I power on the the electrics and find the solenoid that feeds the hot tank is not working so not water being fed to the Hot Tank producing and error code E3.
I contact Carysil explain the problem. They request photographs of the installation which i duly send being told I would get a call back. No call back so I telephone again only to find that the person dealing with the problem has gone for the day.
So having spent over £500 and half a day installing I have a product that does not work and the one person dealing with these problems has gone home without calling me back!
I wish I had not purchased the product.
