Castle Trust Bank was launched as 'Castle Trust' in October 2012, and in June 2020 we became Castle Trust Bank – a fully authorised UK bank. We’ve offered fixed-term, fixed rate savings accounts to existing customers since the end of 2020, and launched online savings accounts to new customers in August 2021. Eligible deposits with Castle Trust Bank are protected up to a total of £120,000 by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme, the UK’s deposit guarantee scheme. We are also a provider of specialist buy-to-let, and property development mortgages.

I I found it easy and straightforward to open my account. There was help if I needed it.

Competitive and efficient

Always found them competitive with fixed term ISA rates. Efficient and informative - majority of communication is via the website or app but they also respond to telephone calls.

Easy and smooth process

Easy to apply for a one year ISA. All online and a fast transfer from previous supplier. Just a couple of days from old maturity date.

I requested a transfer in from another…

I requested a transfer in from another Isa provider. The initial request was made with a box ticked requesting the current financial year's investment not be transferred ( not what I asked for ) I queried this and stated I had asked for a full transfer. Was then contacted by existing provider to say incorrect date of birth given by yourselves. Still in the process of getting that amended so the full transfer can be auctioned. Doesn't inspire confidence to be honest

The product that I signed up for was…

The product that I signed up for was very good. Castle then offered a better rate soon afterwards and I enquired if I could transfer to the better offer. I was told it was not possible as it was just outside the 14 day cooling off period. I asked if the two bank holidays and non banking weekends should be taken into account but I was told that the days when they were closed still counted as applicable to the 14 days. I think this is harsh

Unfortunately we're not able to transfer a balance to a new account after the 14 day cooling off period has been completed, regardless of bank holidays etc. We're pleased you still have a competitive rate with us though.

Slow transfer.

I openned the account on 24th March and completed a transfer form the same day and I am still awaiting the funds to reach my account after having to complete several other authorisation forms.

Your existing Plan Manager isn’t part of the electronic ISA Transfer service which means it does take longer to process your request as signatures are required.
