Further updating my review and research on Craft Folk, Back Road Goods and Cedar and Tin
They all fall under Ecomcloud Trading LLP is that has been flagged in numerous consumer complaints for operating deceptive online storefronts
• Known Trade Names
• Marlow Market
• Cedarandtinco / Cedar & Tin Co.
• Backroad Goods
• Craftfolk (associated variation)
How They Operate
• False Advertising: They run digital storefronts marketing mass-produced goods (such as bee hotels, garden items, or crafts) as rare, hand-crafted artisan products made by local elderly woodworkers or individual creators in the US, UK, or Australia.
• Actual Origin: Customers report receiving cheap, machine-made items or materials (such as rough factory pine or plastic) shipped from industrial or overseas hubs (including China and logistics centers in the US) rather than
Scam beware
Scam. Claim to provide bespoke or job lot hand made items by artisans and actually sell low grade mass produced tat from china. Worse than this please instruct your bank to refuse charges to this company if you have purchased anything or cancel your card as they also operate a "VIP subscription" ppan that will keep charging your card £24.99 per month which they will not cancel. They do not mention this anywhere, instead automatically signing any purchasers up to this fraudulent 'package'. Please, if you have been ubfortunate enough to send your payment details to this company, canel your payment card and/or notify your bank immediatly. This acam is (like so many others) being propagated via googles paid advert service, which sees it forced into victims google now feeds and search results - despite a simple google search being all that is required to have the site/company identified as a scam. Shame on you google for taking their money (and the money of so many other criminals) and actively participating in the scam by disseminating it to innocent victims.
This is a scam website
This is a scam website, claiming to sell handmade goods from named artisans when in fact it is flogging shoddy fakes shipped from China. The stories of the artisans are lies. The company behind it is also responsible for several other dropshipping websites such as Backroad-goods.com, which are also committing fraud. All 90 of Backroad-goods reviewers have left 1 star. This website sells the same items but changes the names and locations of the artisans - the photos and the text are identical. Ted the Hedgehog house maker from Shropshire does not have an identical twin called Reg in Devon also selling handmade hedgehog houses. I'm sorry if you've parted with any money. I have reported Cedar and Tin (cedarandtinco.com) and Backroad-goods to Report Fraud (who will issue a crime number) and Trading Standards in the UK, also Google who advertises them both and Shopify who handles the transactions, as well as Scamadviser. I have raised a dispute with my bank and requested a chargeback on my debit card payment. I would recommend everyone affected by either website do the same.
Cedarandtinco.com and associated BEWARE
Cedarandtinco.com ,also known as Ecomcloudtrading,Craftfolk and Marlow Market.
These companys advertise items supposedly made by U.K. or U.S. 'craft' people.
Ecomcloud trading have an advert claiming a guy called Edwin from Cranbrook Kent is making hand carved bird houses. He has supposedly made 3000 and has a few left selling at a bargain price of £39.95. They take 8-14 hours to make. Really ? working for less than £5 an hour. What a guy.
There are no wood carvers in Cranbrook. If you wish to return the items, its to China at a large cost. Surely Edwin would take them back. Of course, they are made in China. 'Reviews' are highly suspect e.g. from Dr Helen Marsh of The British Songbird Trust, neither of whom are traceable.
The truth is that the company is linked to various online e-commerce storefronts and trade names, which have been flagged in multiple consumer complaints and reports on Scam Tracker sites.
The items are mass produced in China and dropshipped.
Please BEWARE.
