I've been using cellar rats for about 6 months now. Always great products with a luxury feel to the packaging. I look forward to my delivery each month to see what different wines I can taste. Wo... See more

What a shame! I thought this was a good idea. I haven't had a bad experience with the customer service, but the wine quality has been awful. Many leaking bottles and others, especially the reds, ferme... See more

Cellar RATS, aren't they just
Simply, I have been scammed. No box, no communication, phone number doesn't work. Can't cancel online. They have my card details. But.....Rats, try your hardest to take money next time from MY account, I've left 1p in there.
Gone off wine
Received so many bottles that have gone off in just two shipments... You should go out of business and repay people their money
Terrible
Terrible. Wrong delivery of bottles and wine leaking, impossible to contact anyone. Number is a high charge number so calling to cancel costs a lot of money. Very disappointing.
Honest business practices...they exist elsewhere.
As everyone else has said: making it that hard to cancel can only be an attempt to scam people out of money.
Why else would you do that? Website developer quit before adding the cancel button because he had to call up to get his paycheck?
Edit: I stand by this, but have to give credit where due: the phone call to cancel was quick and painless.
Scam
Scam company purely interested in taking money and not providing a service. Did not answer the phone to cancel subscription then charged me £10+ for the privilege. Then did not reply to emails. Avoid avoid avoid.
Trial box
Placed an order for the trial box and just pay 5.99 delivery which is great however, had no order confirmation or tracking info
Update: lowering score as received an email saying would recieve in 3 days.
Order placed on 04/07/2024
Blaming Royal Mail for delays. Rang 15/07/2024 and told would re-issue box but to wait 10 days making it up to 3 weeks since placed order.
Doubt I'll get a response. Will not be continuing subscription unless they admit the issue is their end not Royal mail
Charged £24.56 to make a cancellation call.
I wish that I could give a minus 5 star rating. The wine selection tastes worst than a high street Indian restaurant house wine. Tried to unsubscribe online and they don't have that option, called the number which is a mobile number and was charged £24.56 for staying on hold for 53 minutes listening to a penny nando's album.
Very difficult to cancel .nobody picks…
Very difficult to cancel .nobody picks up the phone .a good idea , but with disappointing customer service
Great customer service!
Great customer service!! A great product idea. The wine was very nice and well packaged. My favourite wine was 233 (Rosato). Would highly recommend this company.
Scam company - don't sign up as you'll never manage to unsubscribe!
Same experience as others - signed up as I got an offer via Fussy deodorants (makes me rethink their brand too now!), but then went on their website as I decided to cancel. However, I was unable to cancel online (unheard of in this day and age - huge red flag for them being a very unserious business!) and no one answered the phone despite over 20 minutes wait and no update on how long any phone queue was etc. I can't comment on charge for the call as I'm on PAYG with a monthly package and £0 in my phone account. I have contacted them to request an immediate cancellation of my account - this company should be flagged up to the Ombudsman for being scam!
Great wine and great customer service
Great wine and great customer service. Very easy to cancel and have had a quick response with any issue I have had.
Really hard to cancel subscription
Paid £4.99 for my first order as part of an offer I received from three. My order never arrived after two weeks. I rang multiple times however was on hold for over 20 minutes every time. The mobile contact number you have to pay for which is not mentioned on the website.
I sent them 3 emails/messages and rang 4 times all with no reply. There is no way you can cancel subscription on website even though it is stated in terms and conditions. Only way to cancel is to ring a private number that never answers! Extremely shady and dodgy company.
Really hard to cancel subscription. Have to ring a mobile telephone number that isn’t free. I was charged £17 by my mobile phone network after being on hold for 45 minutes and no answer. Scam. Paid more money trying to cancel subscription and never received any wine!
Great customer service
Great customer service. I received my package and one of the bottles had smashed during delivery, Cellar Rats refunded the order and sent out a replacement very quickly.
The worst company I have ever used
Ordered a box of wine. There was no ability to track the order. It randomly turned up over a week later, with one of the bottles smashed and leaking everywhere. Wine which I actually received in a bottle was poor-mediocre. Obviously wanted to cancel. Made me call to cancel, was on hold for ten minutes without getting through to anyone - had to give up because I was getting on a train. Eventually managed to cancel by pretending I wasn't cancelling and so therefore being able to message them directly. I then get a bill for my call trying to cancel because it was secretly a pay-to-call number disguised as a regular phone number. Literally the worst experience I have ever had with any company providing any service.

Wine for grown ups
It's one of those moments in the month I get so excited for. Being parents to a toddler means that we're no longer getting on it in the same way, but still enjoy a drink. Having a tasty glass of wine to share between the two of us on a weekend evening together brings us so much joy. We've also picked up extra bottles of the wine we like. Life's too short to drink bad wine, getting to try a wide range at a decent price is perfect for us.
Great customer service
I had a issue with my order and emailed them, they emailed me back straight away and got everything sorted out for me. Really happy with the level of service they offered. Received my wine a few days later and it was lovely.
Nice wine but too many shady tactics
Got the intro offer (6 bottles just play postage). My account online said it had been dispatched but didn't get any sort of communication or tracking number emailed them twice after 4 days to ask for a tracking number - no response. The wine did actually arrive a few days later, and to be honest, it was lovely! I like the idea of having single glass bottles. BUT the usual price for this is £35 which is just too expensive for my taste.
It also clearly states in their terms and conditions that you can cancel online but you can't. When you click to cancel it takes you through several screens of offers before telling you to call a number to cancel. To be fair, I was only on hold for about 2 mins and the guy cancelled it right away without any hassle.
Another negative is that their advertising is very misleading. "£90 of free wine" with a small footnote which says "if they were full bottles". But they aren't full bottles - so it's a completely misleading comparison.
Overall, wine was great but this company just employs far too many shady practices for me to continue giving them money: false advertising, blatantly lying in their terms and conditions and terrible communications.

Can't cancel on the phone
Just like so many others, have tried to cancel via phone and no one picks up. Over half an hour on the phone and it looks like I'm going to get charged at premium rate for this. Avoid this company.
Terrible company, avoid
Similar issues to others that it is very hard to cancel, took over an hour to get through on the phone and have just seen weeks later that I got charged 40 quid to be able to call their number and cancel. I would love them to refund this money because I am livid getting charged for cancelling. Awful company.

If I could give less than this I would
If I could give less than this I would. They offer an introduction to their Subscription service and then do not allow you to cancel online. You have to call a premium rate number (that looks like a normal mobile phone number) in order to cancel. Was on hold for 30mins trying to get through to someone to cancel. Not ideal. Shame as the wine was decent but ultimately seems like they re just trying to extract money customers from other areas.
