Wow,

Wow, we went to sherwood forest over 20 years ago with our four children. We thought then that it was expensive, they even had furniture that was uncomfortable, making it impossible to relax on, so you would spend more money on site and not staying in the cabin watching tv. I've just checked that it would still cost over £700 for a four day stay for both myself and my wife, I would rather go to Windermere, where it's half that. They're not doing themselves any favours by locking out half the population from the equation

Booking Error and Lack of Confirmation

I am writing to express my frustration regarding a booking I made today. Despite selecting the correct date on your website, the system processed my booking for a different date.

To resolve this, I have had to call your customer service team twice:

The first call: It took a significant amount of time for the representative to manually change the details.

The follow-up: After the first call, I received no confirmation email. I had to call a second time to request it again, and I am still waiting for that email to arrive.

Overall, I have spent over an hour of my time trying to fix a system error and secure a simple confirmation. In an era where bookings are handled online, I am disappointed that your manual processes and email systems are taking this long.

Not genuinely dog friendly

Centre parcs is fabulous but gave changed how they do dog bookings in future it's £129 for 1 or 2 dogs.... this makes it extremely expensive on top of basic booking fee especially for 1 dog but even for 2. They gave increased dog charges year over and over without any benefits to dogs and their owners. Sadly after 11 years, we will not be returning

Nearly got killed, tacky, overpriced, downgraded. AVOID

Been going for 15+ years, worst break of our lives December 2025. CP used to be magical at Xmas, it’s now Butlins with trees. Downgraded to standard lodge at last minute as refurb had overrun. When we switched lodges few weeks before, why were we not told it was undergoing a refurb and this may happen? We’d have stuck with what we initially booked. Offered very little in way of compensation, basically covered 1 meal. For loyal customers who have paid inflated prices for many years, you’d expect more than that! Complained but Natalie who we dealt with just argued every point. We were all nearly run over by a dumper truck reversing out of the work site where they were refurbishing the lodges. No watcher on road waving them out to make sure it’s safe. Absolutely reckless. Emailed them about it and just got a “we will pass your comment on”. You could have killed one of my children through neglecting safety, that’s not good enough! Had to listen to workers shouting and swearing when we walked past. Lodged next to a family who smoked weed. Lodge dated, mouldy, blocked sink, found an unknown tablet in a cabinet. Witnessed a dad let his son urinate in a plant next to the pool, lifeguard pretended not to see it. Saw another dad push in past a load of kids with his daughter on the slides just because he had a family member near the top. Could have killed him if I was close enough. Wife nearly wiped out by cyclist in the dark when walking along a path, not a road, a walking path! Mandatory service charges on each restaurant bill. Cars parked in bays leaving massive and unnecessary gaps, but not enough to fit a car in. People have to treck their suitcases from miles away. Paid to see Santa and my sons were both given the exact same gift (Lego) which wasn’t age appropriate for my youngest. The decline at CP is very evident, and until they start putting the customer first again, we won’t be returning. We’ve booked Xmas at a different lodge resort this year at a fraction of the price. CP is now full of classless people, it’s tacky, massively overpriced, disappointing, and quite frankly dangerous at times experience. All in paid around £2k for 3 nights to walk away angry and lucky to be alive. Nothing good to say about this place anymore, which is such a shame as we used to love it.

Centre Parcs Whinfell Forest Antisocial behaviour

We stayed at Centre Parcs Whinfell forest 30th December 89 lakeside apartment, the following morning at 9am we reported Serious Antisocial behaviour at the apartments regarding people coming and going all night from 10pm until 1.30am constantly. We asked to be moved to a different accommodation at a total cost to us. We were refused as the manager of guest services told us that the park was fully booked. We have been coming to Centre parcs for over 35 years and we know when the parcs are busy. Whinfell Centre parcs was not fully booked on the 31st December 2025. I feel the manager lied to me. We feel this Centre parcs now isn't a safe place to fetch your family. Gangs of youths hanging around using obscene language. We reported Antisocial socal behaviour within the apartments with literally no response or help from management. We asked for a refund with no avail. We are now seeking legal advice regarding a total refund. If you are thinking of going to Whinfell Forest Centre Parcs, think really carefully especially if you have young families. In my opinion its not a safe And secure as it use to be years ago!!!

We stayed at Sherwood Forest for 4 nights from the 23/12.
I can say that we will never return.
They market themselves as 5* which is completely untrue.
The lodge was tired, carpets looked grubby, the sofas need to be thrown away & paintwork damaged and scruffy.
There are NO smart tvs in the lodge. Its free view or nothing.
I got locked out and was on the patio. Not ONE of the contact numbers they advertise was answered.
I could go on but I am to cross that companies like this dupe and deceive customers.
With petrol and accommodation we paid £2000. £500 per night!
AVOID

Cabana waste of money

Came here a few years ago and enjoyed it although it was very expensive and lodges were a bit dirty (walls needed painted, carpets a bit manky in bedrooms). Anyway, kids loved it, so came back for Xmas. Love the bikes and it's lit up real nice but €150 for dinner for family of 4 was just too steep. Booked cabana for Xmas day and I'd give that 1 star. So noisy. Drinks were not cold. The non-smart tv was blasting Sister Act and TV remote didn't work. Had to get assistance to kill the whole thing. Family sitting here looking miserable. Waste of money. Can't wait for this torture to end in 2 hours so I can hear myself think again.

Not Dog friendly

We visited longleat centre parks last week and we were extremely disappointed. We first visited in the summer this year and following a very enjoyable weekend decided to book nearer christmas. We were a family of 8 and 2 dogs as they claimed to be dog friendly, they are anything but. You are not allowed anywhere inside any of the buildings or on the train yet the lodges are furthest away from anything. I would not recommend centre parks for the reasons stated plus the extortionate prices within the park.

As always centre parks …

As always centre parks …. A blissful holiday !
8 adult, 8 children from 1yo up to 12yo and it really was the best Christmas adventure for them. They all enjoyed the activities. The effort that went into the Christmas experience and the visuals is amazing. Our 5th year coming at various times.
One pointer is your cocktails, you use a pre made mixture to make them and they are really awful and I was made a Margarita cocktail with the rim covered in coconut flakes. First world problems but things like that make all the difference
Will be back next year, love you centre parks

Fabulous for family holidays

Just returned from a mid week break at Sherwood Centre Parcs. Our villa was close to the Country club. The villa exterior looked a bit run down but internally was lovely and looked like it had recently been modernised. The swimming pool and especially the rapids were great fun as always. We visited in December and the Christmas decorations and winter wonderland were really fabulous. The Christmas walk was really magical. The sports are expensive but great fun . We played badminton and padle tennis which I’ve never played before but loved it . The restaurants are expensive. We visited Las Iguanas, it was very busy and the service was very slow, the food was pretty average . We had breakfast in Cafe Rouge and found service and food very good . We have visited Centre Parcs many times over the last 30 years and love our holidays there . It’s not a cheap holiday but we always make special family memories which are priceless

Really gone downhill

Really gone downhill. Used to have excellent customer service but now rude obnoxious staff.
Bathroom filthy!
Clothes left by accident in lodge never found!
Areas in village dirty & in need of upgrades.
Highly overpriced - don’t mind paying high price for high quality and customer service but gone downhill!

Very expensive

I'm currently staying at center parcs Longleat. The swimming scene here is unreal. The outdoor heated pool with rapids will keep you busy most days. By far the best part of my experience so far. However. I suggest you stop at a supermarket before you arrive as prices on site for food and drinks are ridiculous £5 for a pepsi and £18.50 for a basic cheeseburger and chips. The parc itself is great. But Its thoroughly let down by extortionate on site prices for amenities. I've done bluestone/Forrest of dean etc. and none of them come close to the prices here. Really sad.

⭐️⭐️ 2/5 – Overpriced and Underwhelming Christmas Experience

It’s not a 1-star, but definitely not a 5-star. Overall, the whole trip felt over expensive for what it is, and we expected a lot more based on YouTube videos and the marketing, which were honestly quite misleading.

We came to Sherwood Forest with our children expecting a magical Winter Wonderland and a super Christmassy atmosphere. Instead, the “Winter Wonderland” was literally the smallest area with a few lights — that was it. Hardly any effort anywhere else. No Christmas music around the village, no festive touches, no characters or atmosphere apart from one tiny section.

Parking was another issue. There’s nowhere to actually park near anything, so you find yourself walking miles and going around in circles.

The whole place feels like a glorified caravan park surrounded by expensive restaurants (none included), and an overly busy leisure centre. The pool was packed, the “gym” was basically just a few running machines, and overall it just didn’t match the holiday vibe they promise.

Really disappointed. We won’t be returning.

Our visit at cp longleat not a good…

Our visit at cp longleat was not a good experience at all firstly as a disabled person I found there to be discrimination against disabled people we offerd no help day one on arrival we was told you cant park your car near the accommodation so partner had to drop me off park and come may I add parking was about 15 minutes walk away this is not great for my partner who has knee problems may I add we come with our children and my grandchildren so would not be our choice of holiday due to disabilitys but when daughter in law booked was assured they cater for people with disabilities this was not the case at all you couldn't park anywhere there was no mobility scooters for hire or wheelchairs left when my daughter in law got her cabin she could smell something strange when she walked around the childrens room she noticed vomit all up the curtains and floor to which she reported they came and changed the curtains did not clean the floor or skirting boards which still had vomit on them she complained at guest services they gave her a £80 voucher our first night meal out at hucks it was a special one as it was a memorial for my mum who has passed i was meeting my children there when I went to the reception I asked if my children was there they could clearly see I was struggling on crutches they said no and to come back we couldn't ring children as no service we kept looking for the kids then I see my son waving at me through the window they had been there the whole time now in pain I manged to get seated when the food arrived it was stale microwaved and hard you really couldn't eat it I called the manager and complained she said ill see what I can do i said well this needs to go back they remove the meal from the bill but still charged drinks and to be honest they should of took it off as a good will gesture !! Next day my granddaughter had a quad experience booked we asked if we could arrange travel for me and was told sorry we have nothing for hours this ended up in my son and partner carrying me this was very degrading for me on the way back they carried me again until we reached the reception at the gates my son was not happy and a car was arranged for me after a lengthy battle . In my room there was no plug sockets by the bed at all so I could not plug in medical equipment needed by me my partner asked at guest services could we get a extension lead for the equipment and was told no he also asked for a disability permit to park to help with me as I was in so much pain they refused we got talking to a person who worked there and they said to get anything like that from them you basically would need to have no legs I was so disappointed with this comment a big organisation like cp to not recognise all disabilitys my son knows how much I love the forest and the peace and to remember when I took them as children when I was healthy I felt so let down and embarrassed of my conditions and really not welcome there on our last night at the foresters inn we booked a table when we arrived again they could see i was struggling on crutches to find they had mistakenly given our table to someone else so we had to wait for a table eventually we got seated by this point I was in a degree of pain finally the meal was served after about 50 minutes wait no longer had I had one mouthful there was a power cut we had to eat our meal in complete darkness no one came to our table to explain infact most of the staff put there coats on and left why I understand power cuts cant be helped but how you handle that situation can the whole of cp was in complete darkness the children was petrified as you could not see a hand in front of your face the secruity that was in there vans was speeding about which is so dangerous when you can't see a thing my son at one point had to grab the children out the way I fell over a small fence as you could not see what direction you was going in there was no guidance from secruity or helping people make there way back to there accommodation my daughter in law and son left that night as they had enough at this point I could not leave as the long journey would have been to much for me in so much pain by the time I got to my accommodation to find the lift was out I had to struggle 4 flights of stairs with my partners help by this time I was in floods of tears in excruciating pain my daughter in law has wrote a complaint to cp longleat the response was a complete and utter brush off in all honesty they should of offered my son and daughter in law a complete refund of there very expensive holiday which was a holiday from hell theres so much more I could say !! If anyone with mobility issues is considering going .. be mindful you are not welcomed there !!

This is a review from someone who doesn’t leave bad reviews

We came with a 3 month old baby and our dog and your unable to enter your lodge until 3pm on the day of arrival so we arrived a few hours early and had some food and drinks and went back to the lodge at 4pm as it was raining , our keys wouldn’t let us in which left me my parents , my partner ,my 3 month old baby and our dog out in the rain. You can ring any number online and no one will answer, the chat help online constantly crashes due to bad WiFi which leaves you with one option and that’s to get from the one side of the forest to the other just to sort out a key with some extremely rude staff. We then tried to use the lockers in the swimming pool and guess what ? The key didn’t work again and when we tried to sort it with the pool staff they tried to sort our key which didn’t work and we were told you will just have to wait to find one that works, I shouldn’t have to stand on the side with my baby and wait until a working locker becomes available when we have paid so much to stay here just like everyone else and to top it off whatever the pool staff done with our key it yet again stopped us from being able to enter our lodge which meant another wasted trip in the cold to reception on the other side of the Forrest which we had just come from to use the pool. We come every year and Longleat Forrest has become an absolute joke you spend more time trying to sort things than you do enjoying yourself these days. Everything is run down apart from the sports center , activities prices have gone through the roof over the last ten years and I can honestly say that longleat center parcs is no longer worth the money it has been ruined by poor maintenance, rude staff and inadequate equipment for your stay, each year we spend thousands with center parcs and after this year I can promise that you will never get a penny from us again! THEY DONT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS OR YOUR FAMILY THEY JUST WANT YOUR MONEY. An absolute shame we loved it here but we will find somewhere else and for the money you do spend we will find something very nice too!

Went to Centre Parcs Longleat with family and dog. Upon arrival, the heating had been turned up SO high, it was unbearable. We had to turn all the radiators off (except 1 which did not have a thermostat or switch) and open all the windows. It took 3 days to cool down to a normal temperature. We couldn't use the wood burner as we had liked to and purchased logs for because it was SO hot. I got a head ache for the duration due to the heat. As others have said, the lodge was not very clean either/ I had my dog and we cannot leave him alone but dogs are not allowed on the train, so one of us had to walk everywhere with him to meet the others at the destinations, which was exhausting. It would be nice to have a fenced in patio at the lodge rather than just the tie up point.

Atrocious value. Poor signposting. Dishwasher fell onto my leg, due to broken support. Stained bedding and a water stain on the ceiling. Xmas lights were good - about the only plus.

Family of 4 stayed at Whenfell in a lodge Meadow View no. 84 for 4 nights from 27/10/25.
Central Heating failed on 3 night. Leak somewhere had to re-presurise system myself and re-start the boiler. However
Big problem on 4th night, very large mouse seen downstairs, obviously a know problem as Pest Cotrol devise plugged in by TV before we got there, tons of expanding foam around the kitchen, boiler room etc to try to keep them out. Offered a smaller lodge the other side of the park after grandson was asleep and no means to get there
And the lodge was dirty, mouse droppings discovered all around downstairs
We should not have been placed in a such a lodge.
Complaint raised by email with photos etc once home, No Response,
Resent Complaint after 6 days, No Response
Dreadful service from CentreParcs and suggest no one stays in that lodge untill its fixed as its an obvious health hazzard
