We stayed in the barn
We stayed in the barn, starting Monday 26th May. Beautiful position, comfortable roomy (there were 9 of us) house, very well equipped. Staff friendly and very helpful.

Lark - An absolute gem. A lovely cottage in an outstanding location in the heart of Hardy Country.
The owners were charming and very helpful and the setting is straight out of a novel.
Spotlessly clean and perfectly appointed. I will certainly be back!
Thank you for a lovely stay 🙂

We had previously stayed in the barn with a group of friends but we stayed in OWL cottage and it made for a wonderful break in a glorious country area. The cottage was clean, cosy, well equipped and very welcoming. After enjoying days in Lyme Regis, West Bay, Bridport and Chard it was always great to come back to the cottage for a nice cuppa and an evening of peace and tranquility! Loved the open plan kitchen within the lounge and both bedrooms having en suites. Our dog loved running round the enclosed garden and we felt she was totally safe. We met the owner who couldn't have been nicer and she bought us in some buiscuits! She couldn't have been more hospitable. Highly recommend these lovely cottages for a most relaxing break! Thank you
Great location and accommodation for a large family grouping for a celebration in the barn. Very spacious and well appointed with lots of outdoor space. Children will love the pool and separate games room.

Stayed in Lark cottage. Chair round the table broken, smoke alarm hanging from ceiling, window frame in bedroom rotten, insufficient utensils and outside of property uncared for. In my opinion this is not a 4* standard cottage.

Had a 4 night stay in the Swallow cottage, which was very nice, clean and with a modern bathroom and was well equiped with everything we needed for our stay. Even tea, coffee and sugar for our arrival. The reason I have only given 4 stars is because this was booked on the understanding there was a 'bubbling hot tub' as described in the description on'Premier Cottages' Please be aware there is no hot tub, apparently there hasn't been one for 10 years! I've spoken to the owners and hopefully they will get Premier Cottages to amend the false information they are giving to potential customers

Just returned from a long weekend in the country. Ten friends gathering for a walking and eating weekend -trust us to choose a stormy weekend . The whole area had powercut but the owners were amazing and saved the day- they brought us camping lamps, chocolate baskets of wood for the fire, bought us all chips, gave us board games and some wine - we had the most fantastic evening sat around a roaring fire playing games, eating and drinking.
The power was restored the next morning and we all agreed that the storm and that evening had made the break more fun and memorable.
Fantastic comfy barn with lovely walks great pubs and the swimming pool to relax in.
Perfect winter break
Thank you to the owners for their thoughtfulness.

Cottage was filthy and owner is quite frankly bonkers. Not anywhere 4 star gold standard and if you look on Visit England’s website they do not list this place as being accredited by them. Don’t waste your money. Avoid at all costs.

My family rented three properties at Champernhayes, The Barn owl and Lark cottage, for two weeks in the summer.
The location is perfect for exploring Devon and Dorset. We found lovely beaches within thirty mins drive and the Jurassic beach of charmouth was ten mins away.
The properties were perfect, well equipped, very clean and with modern interior decoration. As the properties are located around a central courtyard we could easily spend time as an extended family.
The children loved the indoor pool.
We would recommend Bridport Saturday market and Lyme Regis for interesting shopping and local
Independent shops.
We found three large farm shops very nearby that had local produce but also
a broad variety of delicatessen and unusual ingredients.
We have booked Christmas and Easter 2021as it’s perfect for a family gathering.

I stayed at Champernhayes Dorset recently. I have written to the owners to post this feedback with no response. I would recommend that you check that upgrades have been made before you book:
Overall we were a disappointed with the standard of the accommodation. The double mattress was very uncomfortable, tiles were cracked in the bathroom, the shower in the main bedroom was only running luke warm water, and the jacuzzi was not working. I know that you tried to source a plumber to fix the shower however as it was not working properly when we arrived it suggests that the functionality had not been checked prior to our arrival. We arrived to find a notice at the entrance to the pool to indicate that the jacuzzi was not working; the use of these facilities had been one of the reasons that we chose to stay at champernhayes, and whilst I understand that it had been broken by previous guests, some advanced communication would have been appreciated as we had planned some of our days around using the facilities and had to rearrange. As you are aware we left early on the 8th, partly to get a good nights sleep at home on a comfortable mattress and partly due to the lack of jacuzzi facilities.
I booked the accommodation in good faith expecting it to be of 4 star gold award standard; unfortunately we were disappointed, believe that the price of the accommodation did not reflect the quality, would suggest that photos are rather dated along with some of the accommodation facilities, and would not recommend.
We did enjoy Charmouth, Lyme Regis and the surrounding areas and the weather was good for us but we returned from a much needed break feeling a little disappointed.
